Antique Leather Case Set Three Glass Flasks Or Perfume Cologne Bottles
This is an antique leather case with a set of three glass flasks or perfume/cologne bottles. I'd say it dates from the 1920s or 1930s. The case itself measures 4 7/8 inches wide by 5 1/8 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches deep(12.4 cm x 13 cm x 4.5 cm) The bottles with the lids each measure 4 1/2 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches wide(11.4 cm x 3.2 cm) There is a great little glass stopper on each bottle. Which is then covered by a twist-on nickel plated cap. On the bottom of each bottle are the letters M. B. W. and U. S. A. Each bottle has a flat side. Probably to keep it in place during travel. Each is also in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. There is a thin canvas-like fabric inside the case. The case has wear to it. Mostly around the edges. Good Day to you. Details: Three DeVilbiss Gold atomizers. These are known as crackle glass. The two that have lablels refer to them as gold plate. I am assuming this to mean gold leafing on the inside. All of these need new bulbs. The smaller Art Deco Style fragrance is from the 1930's. The one with the metal.arm, from the top to the bottom. The brass arm is very good the lid has some slight wear to rim. It is not pitted or tarnished, just a little less, gold, colored. It measures 2.5" tall and it is 2.5 inches in diameter. It has some missing gold on the inside of one side. The larger Bottle has it's original paper label. It's style number is 5-500-29. As best as I can make out) It is in the best condition of the three. There is some missing gold at the top around the cap. This is very slight. It is not visible unless you ... morelook for it, and are looking down on it. The label says it is gold plated. This is marked No F. E. tax on the bottom, which I believe dates it to the 1950's. The brass and the hose are in very good condition. There is not pitting or tarnish. This bottle is 3 inches top to bottom and approximately 3.5 inches in diameter. The medium sized gold one has thinning of the gold plating on the inside. It is more noticeable in the pictures than looking at it in person. The brass part is in excellent condition. A beautiful mid Victorian lacquered papier mache perfume chest with two cut overlay perfume bottles. The box is in very good condition overall for this type of piece. There are some small chips on the box but no breaks or cracks. One hinge is missing. The painted and gold leaf decoration is in great condition with very minimal wear. No missing mother of pearl inlay on the lid. No key. Typical crackled finish- not heavy. Fabric on the interior shows wear. Measures 6" high. 7" X 4.5" at the base. A great example fresh from a local estate. There are bohemian glass cut overlay bottles. The gold decoration is worn on both. The ruby over clear bottle has no chips. Cracks, or staining. This is a very nice pair of antique.Perfume/scent bottles,believed to be made from Dutch Rock Glass. The tops to both bottles appear to be made of silver but there are no markings to indicate this. There is a slight dent in the top of 1 cap. The caps are very ornate and are engraved with"WC" in script. The glass has several bevels. They are 7 inches tall and 5.25 inches in circumference. The interior is pretty tidy but the exterior has suffered over the years and is not in the best condition. But it is untouched. Superb and unusual piece and very collectible. The bottles alone are very collectible, the case is internally and the bevelled viewing glass is a step up from previous sets of these little baccarat bottled I have had. This case is in the identical fur finish style of another case I had where the bottles WHERE marked still with little labels with baccarat on the bottom. Which is why i am so sure these are too, this is a superior item. Lot of eight vintage(c.1930's) and ornate Venetian glass perfume/ scent bottles found in a local Pasadena estate. Very ornate gold. And colored enamel over clear and tinted glass. Designed in floral and scrolled motifs. Largest bottles are approximately 10"H x 2.5"D; smallest one is 3"H x 1.5"D. All other bottles are sized in between.
