Description Antique 19th Century rare Georgian Solid Silver& Cut Glass particularly large Warwick Cruet set. Cinquefoil frame featuring a central scroll handle fitted with three Rococo style embossed casters and two cut glass bottles with silver lids. On four shell shaped feet, a Rococo cartouche is soldered between the guard rings and base for engraving a crest. Such sets are known as"Warwick" after a fine 18th Century example that was once in the collection Warwick Castle, Warwickshire. This is a rare and complete early example, particularly rare as the casters feature the original Rococo embossed decoration. Description At auction is a beautiful antique cruet which stands 5" tall and is 3" wide at its widest point. The cruet is made from quality glass with a swirl pattern and in the base is a cut sunburst. The handle and lid are sterling silver. Probably from Britain. The handle and lid are made from heavy and beautifully made sterling and the lid has a shell motif thumblift. The inside of the lid is marked"7" and I belive this was part of a castor set which had a number of pieces in a sterling frame. It is from the 1800's or earlier, possibly as old as Georgian. The cruet is in fine condition with no damage to the silver-no dents and the lid hinge is fine. The glass is likewise lovely with no discoloring or soiling inside. No scratches, chips or cracks. This top quality Georgian pounce pot or sander stands 95mm(3.75' high x 45mm(1.75' across and weighs 170 grams. The lid is fully hallmarked for solid English sterling silver London 1825 or perhaps 1785(very similar date letters) with the maker IB. The glass is deep cut hobnail with a stepped and star cut base with the silver grill created from a garland of acorns and oak leaves. The silver top is a friction fit which works perfectly and the whole piece has a great quality feel about it. GEORGIAN VICTORIAN BRISTOL COBALT BLUE GLASS FINGER BOWL. Click picture to enlarge This is a deep cobalt blue antique finger bowl with nicely polished pontil mark on the bottom. It has the frosting wear on the bottom consistent with good age. It is about 5 inches across with a 4 1/2 inch top. And stands 3 3/4 inches high. There are some bubbles and irregularities in the glass typical of old hand blown glass. There are some light scratches from use. I believe it dates from the mid 1800s from what I could find from research. The deep blue is lovely. A wonderful piece of Georgian or Victorian glass, a great piece! Background on English Georgian Light Baluster Glasses English Georgian light baluster stems and Newcastle light balusters are without doubt the pinnacle of elegance in English Georgian drinking glasses. The glass or metal if you prefer has a propensity to be brighter than other English lead metal drinking glasses of the same period. Some academics have argued that they may have been produced on the continent rather than in Newcastle itself. The stems themselves feature series of complex knopping structures many with both air tears and beads that enhance yet further the brilliance of the glass. Composite stems. Part airtwist and part plain or opaque twist are also found. The bowls are typically larger than other drinking glasses of the same period with predominantly bell and round funnel shapes. The structure alone would rank them amongst the greatest drinking glasses ever made. It has a Round Funnel Bowl which has been superbly engraved with a Royal Armorial with the Crown above the shield supported by Crowned Lions either side which have polished detailing. Sits on a really nice stem with a large Angular Knop at the top above an 8 sided Pedestal stem which has diamonds on the shoulders. Sits upon a Domed and Folded Foot which has a rough snapped pontil. English lead. No chips cracks or restoration, ... moreit measures 7 3/8 inches tall with a 2 13/16 inch bowl and 3 inch foot. We haven’t been able to identify the Armorial but the Lions would suggest British Royalty but the double cross would also suggest Eastern Europe… All in all a superb period example. Very finely engraved, and one of the best we have had. Background on English Georgian Pedestal Glasses Pedestal stem Georgian glasses also known as Silesian stems or panel stems are purported to have been the preferred glass stem of King George 1(1714-1727) the first of the Hanoverian Kings of England but born a German. There will be much more on this later. See Jacobite engraved glass. There are some fine examples of lead metal in the V&A with crowns and sceptres moulded onto the shoulders or quadrant of the stem. Examples are known that commemorate the coronation of George 1. Other decorations such as diamonds may also be applied to the shoulders and the foot. The metal of these glasses has a propensity to be brighter than Balusters of the same period and academics have attributed this to their production in Newcastle. It has a Flared Bell Bowl with a solid section at the base above a hollow Annular. Inverted Baluster and Basal Knop stem. High conical folded foot with a rough snapped pontil. English lead, no chips cracks or restoration, it measures 7 7/8 inches tall with a 3 ¼ inch bowl and 3 3/5 inch foot. Excellent dark metal showing very nice striations and tooling, this is a fine TALL early piece which sits well in the hand. Background on English ... moreGeorgian Balustroid Glasses Georgian Balustroid glasses are the stylised descendents of the balusters with more elongated and some would say elegant stems. They are lighter in weight and have a wider diversity of bowl shapes than balusters. To my eye they are amongst the most beautifully balanced glasses ever made with a simple understated elegance. You may read elsewhere that the stimulus to develop the balustroid was the glass tax introduced in 1746 by Henry Pelham’s Whig government. This is completely unrelated to the earlier“window tax” of 1696 which purely by coincidence is the year that Sir George Barclay’s Jacobite assassination attempt was made on the life of the usurper William 111 in Kew. No Stuart King would have taxed“light” and definitely not drinking. I digress. Following the introduction of the glass tax products were taxed according to their weight. The assertion that balustroids developed as a result is a fallacy. Some balustroid glasses pre-date the introduction of the glass tax by twenty years and possibly more. Pure hollow stem glasses. Not just extended tears and the engraved“No Excise“ glasses can be attributed to the Glass tax more readily and obviously.

It has a long generous deep Bell Bowl beautifully engraved with a large Jacobite Rose with an open bud and two leaves on the left hand side and a closed bud and two leaves on the right hand side. On the reverse we have a wonderfully engraved Beatle. Solid section to the base of the bowl above an excellent stem consisting of a large Annular Knop above a Triple Annulated Knop with plain sections above and below with a lower Basal Knop. No chips cracks or restoration, this is an outstanding glass in its own right and was obviously hand picked to have the engravings added in around 1740. It measures an impressive 7 11/16 inches tall with a 2 5/8 inch bowl and 3 1/8 inch foot. Excellent dark color showing excellent striations and tooling. A few small light scratches to the bowl as shown, nothing serious and overall it’s in superb condition. The word‘Jacobite’ comes from Jacobus. The latin for James and the original Jacobites were supporters of James II who was deposed by his Daughter Mary II and her husband William of Orange. Later in the 18th cen it referred to those who favoured the return of the Stuart Dynasty. So Jacobitism was the political movement dedicated to the restoration of the Stuart Kings to the thrones on England, Scotland and Ireland. The main emblem of the Jacobites was the White Rose of York which is the central theme of the engraved glass. Although opinions do vary. ~ Georgian c.1820 Rolled Gold Quizzing Magnifying Glass ~ A Georgian quizzing glass with a decorative figure-of-eight frame. Dating from the early nineteenth century. The lens itself has medium magnifying power, as is usual for quizzing glasses. We will be conservative and say the main frame is rolled gold though it acid tests as 9 ct gold. The suspension loop is off brass. It would have been worn on a long chain or ribbon by Ladies and Gentleman in the High Society of the period. ~ Dimensions ~ The face is 7.3cm across- a large one- by 5.5cm. With the handle it is 9cm tall. ~ Condition ~ The condition is decent for its age with some scratching to the glass and a chip to one side. For further details and condition see pictures below.

The ring consists of an oval glass intaglio of a lady in profile. The intaglio measures 17mm by 14mm and has been set in a rub over gold setting. Either side of the centre intaglio are two rose cut diamonds that have also been set in rub over settings which weigh in total approximately 0.30ct. There is a thin gold shank on the ring that tests as 15ct yellow gold as does the underside of the head of the ring. The shank on the ring is currently sized a British Q/ USA 8 1/4 but could be resized up or down by us free of charge. The ring is in very good condition with no visible damage and still very much wearable. Up for auction is a Federal Georgian Lovebirds covered butter dish. It is approx. 7" in diameter& 4" high. The lid of this dish is in excellent vintage condition with no chips. Cracks, repairs, or scratches whatsoever. The dish portion has some chips around the edges of the dish which you should be able to see in the last 2 close-up pictures. Federal Georgian Lovebirds Green Depression Glass Tumbler. 12 oz is i n great condition with minimal signs of wear; there is one very small. Shallow imperfection around the outer part of the lip but it's smooth to the touch(wavy in that spot, but in no way sharp or jagged) and there are no chips, cracks, or other visual imperfections. This tumbler stands 5 1/4 inches tall and holds 12 ounces. The pattern found on this piece was in production from 1931-1936 and one of the coloring agents(uranium) causes this piece to glow under a black light. These 3 hall fixture were packed away in the garage of the estate that we have been selling items from the last few weeks. It was a nice find. The beveled glass is great. The brass is pitted. Not deep.can be buffed out rather easy. But.on one of the sconces the lighting mechanism is missing. Don't ask me how.that's just the way we found it.probably can be found without much effort. One of the pins that holds the door to the wall sconce is also not there. Any way.look at the pictures.they tell the story. English, Georgian Cut Glass Urn with Lid

The style of the urn is often referred to as Slice and Niche because the main body is cut vertically. And then the niched design is applied after. The Georgian period in England was from 1714-1830. Urns of this type were often used for small types of food. The urn stands apprx. 11 inches high to the top of the lid. The heavy glass urn shape stands on a squared base. And the widest point of the lid is apprx. 5 inches in diameter. The lid has a faceted top, and the lid and the base have engraved stars over and below an undulating design. As this urn is over 150 years old. There are some scratches on the bottom of the base commensurate with age, and each bottom corner has a small chip. 18th c Georgian English Blown Opaque Twist Wine Glass With Molded Bowl
You are bidding on a nice blown 18th c English opaque twist wine glass. It has a molded bowl and the stem consists of 4 thick threads in the core and a band of 9 thinner threads twisted around it. It rings when tapped. It stands about 5 5/8" tall. The bowl is about 1 7/8" across and the foot is about 2 5/8" across. It has a rough pontil. There are 3 small flakes on the bottom of the foot. Both the foot and the bowl have had some polishing. No other chips. Cracks or repairs. In spite of the polishing its still a nice early glass, would be a great edition to any collection. RARE ENAMEL FOIL THISTLE CUT GLASS GEORGIAN PERFUME BOTTLE FLASK PHIAL ANTIQUE
This very unusual Georgian perfume bottle or flask stands 90mm(3.5' high x 65mm(2.5' across x 32mm(1.25' deep and weighs 187 grams. It has a hobnail cut reverse. Contemporary initials MG engraved to the base and a stylised thistle inlaid in the glass which has a metallic foil cut enamel appearance and is unlike any technique I have come across before. It clearly dates to the early 1800's and I am sure the glass expert will know its origin and the photos demonstrate the high quality of the craftsmanship. It is missing its stopper and there is an impurity in the neck which I have tried to capture in photo10 and scratching to the surface of the glass around the flower, it is a very unusual Georgian glass piece that I am sure would be worth a new stopper and some research. TOILET BOXES A superb pair of George III silver and glass toilet boxes. Hallmarked for London 1818, with a maker's mark of W.P, probably for William Parker. This beautiful pair of boxes feature stunningly pierced and decorated pull off silver lids. Of very good guage. They have a central oval cartouche with engraved heraldic motif, this is surrounded by a wonderfully pierced and chased grille. The panels either side of the pierced grille have a superb engine turned decoration, the hallmarks are beneath the lids which fit tightly to the heavy glass bases. Both glass bases are in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or nibbles. Likewise the silver lids are in excellent condition with no dents, repairs or splits in the piercings. The boxes measure 14.5cms in length with a width of 4cms and they stand 4cms high. They have a combined ... moregross weight of 538.2g. The silver lids weigh a combined 94.8g. These three 6" plates were made by the Federal Glass Co. between 1931 and 1936. I feel mold roughness on the rim of one plate. They are free of cracks. Chips and cloudiness.

Federal Green Depression Glass Cream and Sugar "Georgian Lovebirds" Pattern
This listing is for a Cream and Sugar Set in the Georgian Lovebirds Pattern. They are in good used condition. They are about 3 1/2 tall and 3 1/2' wide. The sugar bowl has a small ding on the outside see pictures and the creamer seems to be without any flaws. There aren't any cracks and they look very nice. I try to describe the items to the best of my ability and want the buyer to be pleased with the item so please look at the pictures carefully and ask any questions.
