Stunning Green Opaline French Portieux Vallerysthal Art Glass Vase
This beautiful Portieux Vallerysthal Mint Green French Opaline Vase measures about 8.75" tall. And is about 4.5" in diameter. The bottom has what appears to be a W mark on it as pictured. It is in very nice vintage condition with only a tiny flea bite to the rim and light enamel wear. Please refer to pictures. The bottom was ground flat probably from the pontil mark and shows light wear. This and many items that I am currently selling came out of a magnificent Washington DC area estate from a prominent MD- Pennsylvania family. It is a very nice piece of glass.

The outside has a soft satin finish and the inside is gloss. The rim is corset shaped. Pinched in the middle and has gold gilt applied handle. The body is decorated with red glass cabachon jewels within heavy raised gold enamel. No missing jewels. It has a gilded mark on the base which looks like initials. No chips, dings or nicks. Minor wear to gilding at rim. The jug/ pitcher stands 4" tall. A very unique and rare form of French Opaline glass. Up for bid a very rare beauty it's a french opaline glass lamps really rare the bottom of the lamp has a medallion young napoleon according to previous owner with floral foliage and acathus and it's made of very heavy metal could be cast iron or white brass then the first section which is the base is made into sections they are detached not all the lamp in blue is in one piece that's what I trying to explain.The burner has ornated wings with leaves and initals HS the knob says non plus ultra Brenner it has two pull chains it's really very intriguing. I found both lamps in a local antique shop that receives estate donations. I have two lamps exactly the same. Both lamps have been rewired and work great. LOVELY OLD FRENCH GREEN OPALINE VASE - 19th Century
This is a simply fabulous and unique piece. The family originally purchased a pair and used them to store salt. They come from an estate of one of the first Dutch se ttlers to Pennsylvania who moved from France in the late 1700's. The age is indicated by the small bubbles in the glass. And by the styling of the piece. It would be a gorge ous vase or display piece. It stands 12 1/2" high by 5" wide at the widest part of the base. The color is holding up well with only gentle fading. This is a quality piece. There are no detectable cracks. The gold detailing has some wear. But overall i t is in excellent condition. Enjoy adding this piece of history to your collection! Description You are bidding on this French black opaline glass powder jar in square form with handpainted enamel bird and butterfly scenes bordered by white beading and gold trim.Vase sits on four gold bun feet. French opaline is often confused with English bristol glass but the thicker and heavier glass is the telltale sign of French opaline. Black opaline has a characteristic purplish tint when held to strong light as this decanter does.There is wear to the gold in places and a few worn areas of the white beading. One chip on the inner rim. The lid for the jar is damaged but will be included; missing finial. Chips to the sides. This piece is just as pretty without the lid. This beautiful antique clambroth color opaline glass lidded jar or box dated to late 19th century. There is no mark on it. So I'm having a hard time to figure out who made it. This type of glass were produced all over Europe- France, England, Bohemia and Italy a few of the countries who produced this type of glass at that time. Based on the shape, color and quality I believe it was made whether in France or England- Bristol. Both pieces(lid and jar) are hand blown with pontil marks, which is polished on jar and slightly rough on the lid. The lid is hollow inside and can serve as a miniature vase. The jar stands 8 inches high with lid on, it is approx. 4 inches in diameter at the widest. The piece is in excellent condition, considering the age, no chips, cracks or repair. Beautiful white opaline with a bluish cast. The stopper is original and is undamaged and the end is free of chips. The bottle itself is in excellent condition with no damage. The Serving Bowl is the only example I have had the pleasure to sell with a Blue Opaline Glass insert. In many years and I am sure is quite a Rare find indeed. The Basket Frame features very nice Grape and Vine designs with fancy feet and a lovely Bead pattern Bail Handle, which yes stays up on it's own for display. The Blue Opaline Glass Liner is the original to the frame and fits like a glove. The Outside is Satin Glass and the interior is glossy. The Basket is overall in very fine all original condition with a couple tiny splits in the frame which I am sure could easily be re-soldered and no dents or bends with the Glass Bowl showing wear scratches to the interior and some remnants of painted designs on the outside but no chips, cracks or repairs. The Basket makes for a beautiful display and is a nice practical size for modern use measuring 7" tall to the top of the bail handle by 8-1/4" wide or 2-1/4" tall at the edge with the bowl measuring 1-1/2" deep. Both the bottle and the stopper are marked with the number 55. Hello- This is a gorgeous true French Opaline Lamp. It is double-walled glass. Beautiful clarity and depth. The White Sugar Frosted design is in great shape, with the design repeated on both sides. Really at first glance I thought that they were Cherubs- so this lamp is very subtle. The base and fixture are a little tarnished which is typical for antique lamps. The shade is not included.
