Antique Sterling Silver Filagree& Bone Scrimshaw Set Chinese Export Earrings, Brooch, Ring Koi Fish w Water Plants This is a beautiful antique set that must have once included a bracelet or necklace, as I am pretty sure it comes in the original velvet box, which has an empty section. Included are screw back earrings, a brooch, and a large ring. All of the silver parts were tested and ARE sterling silver except the backs of the earrings. The ring is adjustable. The filagree design on the ring includes a butterfly on each"side" of the central scrimshaw section. That bone section measures approx. 5/8" by 3/4" The scrimshaw design shows 2 delicate koi swinning among fronds of water plants etched in black. The 2 fish are no longer tinted red. The total weight of the ring is 5.9 grams, and there are no visible chips or cracks. The total weight of the brooch is 8.5 grams, and the total width just under 1.5, and the total length is 1.25. It is clearly marked on the back: Silver" and"China"with the"N" in China printed backwards. The scrimshaw is the same design as on the earrings and ring, but with 3 koi outlined in red. There are no chips or cracks. The bone plate is slightly loose in the setting, although in no danger of falling out. Finally, the earrings each measure 3/4" square. Each has 2 koi, sketchily outlined in red. One earring has the same marks as the brooch, as does the ring(Silver" and"China" with the backwards N) Again, there are no chips or cracks. The box, which measures 3.25" by 8.25" is black velvet inside and outside. The white sections are silk, I believe. This white cloth around the sections on the inside has some faint spots,

I am offering for sale this Superb little Continental Silver Filigree Box. I'm not sure what it's original use was.I think it may just have been a decorative object. The hallmarks are Continental and I believe them to be Netherlands hallmarks.the date letter appearing to be for 1875.but that is only my opinion and I AM NO EXPERT ON CONTINENTAL SILVER.SO PLEASE LOOK AT THE HALLMARKS AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF. The inside(liner) of the box is gilded. So that the gilding shows through the open filigree work. The total weight of the box is 53g. There is a shield shape to the front which is engraved with what look like the letters A T oH.but they are quite indistinct. Size.4.5 cms x 4 cms x 3.2 cms deep. Condition. And very detailed. There are no hallmarks that I can see, and I do not believe that the tongs a re sterling silver. But a lower grade(I saw a similar item that was 800 silver) The tongs are about 4" long, This item is being sold"as is" The condition of the piece is very good plus. With no breaks in the filigree that I can determine. I am not an expert. And the above is the best I can do on explaining the condition. The craftsmanship is awesome and the detail of the leaf filigree is superb and you can see every vein in the very realistic Grape leaf. Each also has a movable or trembler cluster of grapes. I tried to show this in my photos. The brooch measures approx. 2 1/4" in length and is 2" wide. It has a base Grape leaf with a coiled grape vine at the top and the movable cluster of grapes is topped with another smaller size ornate grape leaf. Art deco Chinese export coin silver filigree fish pendant w/ turquoise
This amazing pendant is a beautiful example of early Chinese export silver. It is finely done silver filigree work. Set with what appear to be small turquoise chips in the eyes. though admittedly they could be glass, I'm not sure. The mouth opens so that perfume can be inserted inside. The pendant is hallmarked"silver" inside the mouth and is probably coin silver. As much of this jewelry was made from melted coins. It has not been tested. This is a large pendant at 3.5" in length. The piece is in excellent dondition. The body appears to have had a gold wash that has rubbed off-though this golden color could also just be from be how the piece has tarnished over the years. This could be polished up by a jeweler, but I recommend leaving it as it is. Item is sold as-is.
