The shell carving was done in Italy between 1910-1920s, and the gold filigree bezel setting was made in America around the same time. The beautifully carved piece depicts a lovely young lady with flowers in her hair and at her shoulder. She wears a real twisted rope gold necklace set with a nice 3 point sized diamond. The diamond-shaped gold setting has lovely little ivy leaf accents at each corner and heart-shaped filigree border. The piece is marked on the clasp with 14K for 14K gold. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold. The overall condition is excellent. The shell and gold filigree setting are in great shape. The left ... moreside of the gold setting has wear and some bends to the filigree hearts. Some of the tops of the hearts are partially missing. But when worn, this will not be noticeable. Vintage 1940's Hobe Victorian Revival Red Glass Filigree Bracelet
Vintage 1940's Hobe Victorian Revival Red Glass Filigree Bracelet This auction is for a beautifully designed and colorful. Victorian revival glass bracelet, that was made by Hobe during the 1940's. This piece is silvertone with a gold wash and is not signed but was made by Hobe. The bracelet is 7" It is a bit fuller than 3/4" wide at its widest point, and has a substantial weight and feel at 48 grams. The bracelet closes securely with its original hidden push clasp(that is finished with a clear glass cab) and has a safety chain that is original to the piece. This bracelet has lovely jeweled colors of clear, red, and pink glass cabochons. The setting is accented with tiny filigree leaves and the glass cabs are in different sizes and shape so the bracelet has a lot of texture and visual interest. The largest glass cab is 10.5mm ... morein diameter, and is thicker and domed in shape, jutting out from the rest of the glass cabs. The glass is all faceted and it is all open at the back so the piece has a lot of light and different types of refraction. The glass is all original to the piece and there are no missing stones. I count 7 chipped stones, three of them are the pink stones, some of the chips are quite small and some of the chips are significant that effect the shape of the cabochon. There is one red glass cab that is chipped but it is small and at the side of the cabochon. Having said that due to the style of the piece and the faceting it is noticeable only upon inspection and not as the piece is worn. The glass is still quite fresh looking with smooth surfaces and a high sheen and the facets are crisp and refractive. There are no irregularities to the setting, no solder or repair, just some wear to the gold wash showing the silvertone underneath which is a minimal amount and noticeable only upon inspection. Up for bid is a stunning Sterling Silver inlaid. Overlaid high spade California bit. Shown in the pictures a bit similar to this that sold in Jan. 2007 at High Noon. It's shown on pg 19 of their catalog. This bit I'm, selling isn't from the 1880's. The bit from High Noon was coin silver, this bit is made of Sterling Silver, which makes it more modern in my opinion. I'm guessing more contemporary, probably from one of the modern makers like, E.G. Grilliva, E. Garcia or Garcia It's a beautiful stylized bit with 23 rivited silver spots on each cheek and it has some dings, dents& file marks. It has a 5 1/4" mouth piece& from the slobber bar to the top of the spade, it's 10 1/2" It has 7 iron jingle bobs on the lip bar. It's really striking with the stylized filigree work.
