Antique French Louis XVI Minerva Sterling Silver Cut Glass Liqour Decanter with insert This stunning piece of art is Decortated in Louis XVI Ribbons and Reed Motif. Rosebuds. Roses and Ribbons are etchted into the decanter. The base has a 24 point star-burst. The French Minerva Goddess(950) as well as the markers mark'ARD) with a bishop Cross and a J on the bottom' are on both the decanter and the insert. The silversmith is Joseph Crossard(a cross and ARD for Crossard) was active from 1900-1920 located at 36 Ruede Montmorency in Paris. It stands 5.5" tall 4.24 wide and the base is 2.5/5"s It weighs 478 grams or 16.9 oz or just over 1lb. I believe it is cut crystal but I have seen his works state cut crystal and cut glass. Silver and Glass Pitcher Decanter Carafe with Ice Chiller Insert- 12 inches high
Description Nice and heavy glass pitcher with silver pleated top. Handle, and lid, with ice insert. Pitcher is heavy(4 pounds and 5 ounces) and nice. There are no repairs. The silver lid fit perfectly. The top. The handle, and lid of the pitcher are silver plated and the body of the pitcher is made of ribbed glass. There are no damages to the glass( no chips. No cracks. No scratches) The chiller is made of hard plastic. The lid screws on the chiller perfectly and the chiller fit nicely in place inside the pitcher. There are 3 small chips at the border/rim of the chiller's lid. I mention them to make my description complete. But they do not prevent the lid of the chiller from fitting perfectly. There is a very small spot of plate loss on the lid(seen on the 7th photo) and really tiny"balls" not bubbles) scattered also on the ... morelid. They look like a faint silver mist. They are barely visible. These are so tiny that I was not able to capture them in my photos. There is also some tarnish inside the top that can be removed if desired with light polishing; the tarnish can be seen on the 10th photo. The pitcher is clean and ready to use; the plated top. Lid, and handle are shinny, needing only(maybe) a very light polishing. This is a nice heavy pitcher. Please. See my photos for more details as they are a supplement to the description. ANTIQUE ALVIN STERLING .999 SILVER OVERLAY DECANTER,GRAPE PATTERN
A very pretty antique early 1900's Alvin Mfg. Co. sterling.999 silver overlay glass decanter. It is in nice condition with no cracks or chips in the glass. The heavy sterling overlay is flat and tight to the glass all around. The stopper is free of any damage. The glass is relatively clean with some small areas of residue in the base which could be removed with the right brush. The decanter measures 8 1/2" height(to top of stopper) x 4 1/4" wide at the mid section. It holds 15 liquid ounces. Stamped on the silver D 3 75-7 999/1000 Fine along with the Alvin makers mark. The coaster seen in pic 12 is available in another auction(check seller's other items) Nice for any bar. Starts low with no reserve.

A very nice old English Hall marked decanter. it stands aprox 9" without the stopper and about 11 with. the markings on the silver are JD over WD in a shield then a crown and a Lion and the letter P. I put some food coloring in it to make the glass patterns stand out more but it is still hard to see at the top it almost looks like a flower petal pattern around the brim and a star pattern on the bottom and each corner is pressed together to have the middle open and four edgeways. my mom has had this for a while but is not sure the top stopper was a marriage or made with it but it looks great. have fun and live life well your worth it:

AMAZING VINTAGE BAMBOO SILVER OVERLAY PINCHED DECANTER BOTTLE
Please look over my pictures carefully. To see the exact condition of this amazing piece. This gorgeous antique silver overlay glass bottle/decanter is in excellent condition for its age. Based on research. I would put this decanter somewhere in the Victorian era due to design, and characteristics of the bottle itself. This includes the bubbles and waves. It could be older. I have seen an almost identical stopper/neck design on a Chinese Piece. The silver overlay is very intricate, textured, and heavy, with very detailed bamboo stalks and leaves. The amount of intricate work in the overlay truly has to be seen to appreciate. I can only imagine the time it took the silversmith to design and craft this beautiful piece. It appears that there have been a few repairs over the years. However, as I am no expert, please look over the piece and come ... moreto your own conclusions. The stopper has shrunk due to age. There is a small ding on the edge of the stopper The bottom has a hallmark and the word SILVER stamped on it. It is worn. And I have been unable to identify the hallmark/ marking, so am unable to grade the silver. It does have its correct patina for an aged piece. We have only lightly cleaned the glass itself. If someone wants to clean the silver, that is up to them. This lovely decanter would make a beautiful conversation piece. And could be one of the centerpieces of your table. The intricate work is so beautiful, and in a way, almost awe inspiring. I could not image what it would cost to have something like this done today, which is probably why you don't see it in modern pieces. This decanter stands right at 9" with the stopper in. We are pleased to offer this rare Silver Overlay Scotch Decanter. The decanter is in the form of a classic Hag& Haig Pinch Scotch whiskey bottle. But is made of black glass with Thistle Patern Silver Overlay. The Thistle is the national flower of Scotland and there can be no more appropriate decoration for a Scotch decanter. Both the glass and the silver overlay are in excellent condition. The Decanter is 9 and 1/2" tall. We do not know what company made the glass. The decanter has a wide. Ground pontil and the stopper is finely polished so that there is a tight fit when the stopper is inserted in the decanter. There are three repeats of the ovelay pattern on the sides of the bottle and three complementary repeats on the edges. The word"STERLING" appears in one of the edges. Decanter measures about 9 1/4" tall with stopper. Measures a little over 4" across bottom. Looks like a yellowy amber color? Shows a Colonial type man and woman holding hands( dancing? Larger flower, Gondalas and a building( Italain scenes) All on bottle appear to be silver overlay. I polished Decanter and the 3 small glasses with silver cleaner and is alot nicer now. About 1 1/2" silver from top of bottle. Stopper measures about 3 1/4" long. Stopper is a little rough on bottom. No chips or cracks on decanter. Some darkening/tarnish spots as item has not been cleaned or polished which I leave at the buyers discretion. The most tarnish/darkening by far is on the chain. This is a beautiful antique whiskey decanter(probably from Gorham/Alvin) which is decorated with sterling silver overlay. In a rare'modern' geometric design. It is 8 1/2" tall. Circumference at the widest part of this'squat' decanter is 20 1/2" The bottom is an etched'sunburst' pattern; the glass is clear(no fogginess) The decanter weights 3 lbs. 2.5 oz. There is a crack(see photo#3) which does NOT go all the way through- I've tested water in it over 24 hours and it doesn't leak. However. I wouldn't advise using this for storing liquids.I have used it solely as a decorative piece.it is truly beautiful. This set was in a box with each piece wrapped individually with a soft cloth type piece. The type of plain white box was often used by gift shops in the 50's-60's. I wonder if this was a wedding gift that just never got used.
