All 3 bottle or decanter labels are made from sterling silver in slightly curved rectangular shapes that have angled corners and sterling silver chains hanging from either side of their upper bodies. Each label has a raised relief rib decorated outer border around a raised central panel and each label has been engraved with the word Whisky, Brandy or Sherry, the bottle or decanter labels have Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below and the lower front of each label has been impressed with a matching full set of English sterling silver hallmarks that read as follows, DJS- Lion Passant- Leopard Head- stylized r DJS is the London silversmith or makers mark. The Lion Passant is the mark of English 925 standard sterling silver, the Leopard Head is the mark of the London assay office and the stylized letter r is the date letter for 197 2. The condition is used and near Mint for their age. The Labels have has No Dents. No Splits, No Cracks, No Holes and No Repairs that I have found, the labels are all straight, the decoration and definition is very crisp, the silver hallmarks are still clearly legible although as these are used vintage labels they do have some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use along with the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would enhance them greatly. Antique German Etched Glass Decanter Encased in 800 Silver Repousse/Chasing Dates to the latter part of the 19th Century. Hallmarked(however I do not know the manufacturer's symbols) see photo. This is a beautiful mid- to late-1800's decanter marked"800 Germany" with intricate etching on the glass and encased in intricate silverwork. The silver stopper has the figure of a boy or cherub on top. This decanter is all original and in very good condition(the cork on the stopper looks old-don't know if it's original) I have not polished this piece. It stands 11-1/4" tall. Robert Linzeler was the founder of Linzeler silver firm; Linzeler was a master silversmith working in Paris during the late 19th and 20th centuries. Linzeler succeeded Jules Piault. Silversmith to Napoleon III, before forming a partnership with Alexander Marchak in 1922, known as the Linzeler-Marchak jewelry line. Linzeler-Marchak jeweled boxes were so admired that they won the Grand Prix at the 1925 Exposititon des Arts Decoratifs. Shreve & Co Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Inlay Scotch Decanter 1910
From the very early 1900's an incredible glass decanter with inlaid(not overlay) sterling silver. Decanter is 9 inches tall. Approx. 5 1/2 wide and marked Shreve Co Sterling on the bottom. Shreve, the San Francisco master silversmith that did the finest sterling mounting, overlay and inlay in the nation during the early part of the 20th century. Glass is in excellent condition. The sterling inlay has been professionally repaired in a few places and there is still a 1/8 inch missing chip on a leaf. The decanter stopper has a slight chip on the bottom of the glass insert part. Overall the decanter looks fantastic and refund in full if not delighted for any reason. This is a beautiful decanter stopper made by the Watson Co. around the turn of the century. It has a"D" monogram on the sterling top. The glass body is in mint condition. It stands 2 1/4" The silver top is 1 7/8" across. The glass portion that sits in the decanter is 1 1/8" at the widest point(where is should sit in bottle) There are no chips. Flakes, cracks or'flea bites" on the glass. The bottom of the stopper glass is etched with 79 It is marked with the Watson Co. hallmark. And STERLING W 312 79 along the silver edge. There are few tiny dings and scratches on the silver commensurate with age. They are only evident upon close inspection and do not detract. Amethyst Coloured Crystal Bottle Decanter With Sterling Silver Collar - 1839
This has got to be the most sought-after colour of this type of decanter. A deep purple or Amethyst colour. The bottle, hand blown in lead crystal has a ground pontil to the underside and is set with an English sterling silver collar for Birmingham 1839, a typically Regency style but very early Victorian in era with the highly sought-after Queen Victoria's head mark. The makers mark is also present for the silversmith, Spooner Painter& Co. The cork top is unmarked but tests as sterling. The bottle is complete with a coaster, with complimenting Grape Vine designs around the rim; the coaster is plated rather than sterling which is common when these are found intact with their coaster. The base has a Fruitwood base and the body of the holder beautifully pierced or reticulated. Excellent condition, the stand measures 4 1/4" in diameter ... morex 3 3/4" tall. Here’s an antique silver overlay decanter. It is blown green glass and is finished on the bottom with a ground pontil. It has heavy gauge sterling overlay with Gorham hallmarks. It is also stamped Sterling. It has an applied silver handle and a hinged top. The top has a few bee bee size indents otherwise everything is in very good condition. Description Wonderful set of 5 vintage sterling silver liquor decanter hanging label tags! Each is a gorgeous scroll design plaque with highly stylized scroll script lettering- there are five- Brandy. Scotch, Bourbon, Sherry and Gin. Each has a sterling silver chain to loop around a decanter. They are all marked on the back with a capital CW with an arrow through it from left to right. I am unsure of this maker's mark. Also. This is truly a unique example of the silver overlay treatment applied. In this case, to a whiskey decanter. There are some fabulously decorated items using this method, some with intricate designs of flowers and leaves applied over the glass object, being offered at Antique establishments and/or being displayed in museums. Also in existence are smaller items such as perfume bottles, favorites of collectors of this art. This particular decanter was decorated with an intricate application of the silver overlay(a process considered'vintage' or'antique' which. Silver Decanter Pitcher with Lid Wallace & Sons Antique Decorative Flowers Birds
I am no expert on sterling silver but I think this is an old decanter/pitcher. It has been dented on its bottom. I have polished it and forgot to take the pictures right away so it does not look as shiny as it can be in the pictures. Okay here are some basics: 6 inches high with lid on. Belly- 4.5 inches with handle about 6 inches. Lid- has a handle and is very decorative with a floral pattern with a circled border all around. The handle has a spoked border on it with a floral design inside it 2 and 1/8 inches round with the base lip being 1 inch with the whole lid and handle being 2 3/4 inches. Just over 2 inch diameter. It is hallow inside the lid and the lip is smooth on both sides the decorative top is patterned on the top side and indented on the inside. The pitcher or decanter- i have not poured from it yet but it looks smooth and nice ... morewith the lid fitting perfectly. The handle is wrapped with some sort of leather or grass- see pictures. The pattern is elaborate and has with the main picture on one side being 2 musicians violin/ cello and other side is of a couple dancing. There are birds and baskets fo flowers as well as various patterns of ribs and swirls. the base has the bent but it still stands and is 2 2/6ths. Base stamped with W& S. Etched number E 8 6/3. Underneath that is a stamped star; a stamp of something(a bird? and then a stamp of the fleur de leaf- but that is a guess on my part as that is what it reminds me of- I tried to take close ups but it is tricky- and with my eyesight. This is a beautiful example of hand pressed. Fire polished Heisey Glass. Glass syrup decanter with silver lid. Fine and delicate looking design etched into glass at varying depths. A floral design with starburst elements and the continuous geometric patterns give it a modern look. But it is an earlier piece. It is marked with Heisey Glass Company trademark. The diameter nd containing the H on either side of the spout. The silver lid is marked'Pat'd April 5. 1910' The lid fits tight but easily removed for filling or cleaning. The lid has a spring spout. Antique Cranberry& Clear Glass Decanter& Cordials Glasses Beautiful decanter and glasses in a rich shade of cranberry and clear glass which g lows beautifully under a black light. The decanter is tall and slender measuring 11 1/8" high(with stopper) and 3 1/2" wide. It is ornately trimmed in sterling with a gra pe and leaf pattern. The glasses are 6 1/8" high and 1 3/8" across the rim. They are in the same cranberry/ clear glass and are also trimmed in silver. The lower part of the decanter and the lower part of the cordials have a thumbprint pattern in the glass. It's hard to see in the pictures. But it is there. Very pretty and very unique. The glass is in excellent cond ition. No chips or cracks found. The silver is also in excellent condition with just some very light scratching. It may also need a little ... morepolishing. Fully hallmarked for London 2008. This is a superb and very fine quality silver mounted glass novelty decanter in the form of a monkey. The monkey has a silver head. Shoulders and feet and a superbly shaped glass body with handle to the back. The head and feet are very finely chased and the back of the head has a silver chain running down to the top of the handle. The decanter is 6 inches/ 150 mm from front to back. 4-1/4 inches/ 107 mm from side to side and it stands 11 inches/ 279 mm high. It weighs an impressive 1,692 grams. The head and the feet have hallmarks- lion passant. London mark, 925 mark, letter J for 2008 and maker's mark MH over JH. The ... moredecanter is in excellent condition with no dents. 16" CUT GLASS DECANTER WITH SILVER CAP LATE 19TH OR EARLY 20TH CENTURY.
16” German cut glass decanter with Silver Cap. A lovely cut glass decanter accented with a silver cap. The silver is stamped 800. Used by German silver makers. It also has the half moon and crown that was the standard post 1886.We were unable to discern the makers mark. The piece stands 16” tall, with the stopper, and features pinwheel and cross pattern, with the starburst design on the bottom. The stopper is original and mirrors the design of the decanter,and is metal sleeved. We were unable to find the manufacturing date, but found an almost exact replica of a 12” decanter, circa 1909. The difference was the vertical neck ridges, which we never found in our investigation. The decanter has no chips or cracks. And there are small scratches to the base, that we consider normal for the age of the piece. There is a white residue in the decanter, ... morethat, as non experts, we decided not to touch.
