This is a glass decanter with four chambers and a straight neck leading to a sterling silver cap with four pouring spouts topped with silver cork stoppers. The decanter is covered in a.950 sterling silver reticulating jacket featuring a Japanese cherry blossom design. The jacket features four panels for viewing each chamber of the bottle. This decanter does not have a maker's mark. But was most likely made in France, as the French are credited with designing multi-chambered decanters like this one. The base is marked STERLING 950. Deco Roden Brothers Sterling Silver Rye & Rum Decanter Labels (later Birks)
Item Description: For sale are two Roden Brothers sterling silver decanter labels. They are hallmarked fully on the back and are enameled on the front with black enameling. Roden Brothers was bought out by Birks in the'50s so I believe these are pre'50s. Most likely from the'30s or'40s due to their simple Deco lines. They measure 2" by 1" and the chain measures 3" on each side. The labels are 1mm thick and weigh 46 grams together. They are in very good condition but could use a polish as they do show minor signs of wear from clinking around on a bottle! The top unscrews to reveal an applicator that is 1 1/8 inches long. Also included in the set is a tiny silver funnel 3/4 inch in diameter with a 3/8 inch spout. On the front side of this unique decanter is an etching of Mount Fuji with a lake and a tree ladened with cherry blossoms. The design is continued ... moreon the back with another view of the mountain and a few more cherry blossoms. Parts of the design are a light gold tone. The base is stamped with Sterling 925. Vintage Farberware(Brooklyn. New York) Silver and Glass Decanter Cocktail Shaker set with 6 oversized drink/shot glasses. The side of the Flask has a coat of arms with 2 Lions on either side. The top stopper is glass with a cork bottom from Portugal to secure the bottle tightly. The Flask is about 10" high and is a little over 3" on the bottom. The bottom is a clear glass with the normal warning with a bottle containing alcohol ie"Federal Law Forbids Sale or Re use of this Bottle" The glasses are 3" high and 1 3/4" on the base. This set was given to my mother by an elderly friend and has to be well over 75 + years. The outside of the flask is not perfect with a few minor scrapes and scratches. The same to be said of the cups; not perfect but pretty close. Very unique and pretty rare. this is an exquisite vintage sterling silver overlay glass decanter. With a quality crystal shot glass. it is hand done and made from a beautifully shaped glass with a rare yellow color behind the silver giving it a great glow. the sterling overlay is done in a floral pattern giving it a great composition. The shaft is ribbed and has vertical silver strips and sterling wrapping the whole top. the stopper is a tapering hexagon shape and fits and is original to the decanter. the shot glass is a beautifully cut crystal marked by maker on the bottom. the set is in great shape and measures 10 1/4 by 4 7/8 inches. the bottom part of the stopper has a very minute hairline crack that can be seen but doesnt ruin the integrity of the decanter. Beautiful vintage amethyst glass Asian style cordial decanter with 4 small glasses. Decanter 7 1/4" tall. Missing stopper. Glasses a 2 1/2" tall. The design looks like an Oriental boat on one side. A flower on the other, and vines throughout. A few imperfections in the silver overlay. Silver is starting to lift and flake on 2 glasses. Silver is applied thick enough on decanter that you can feel it with your fingers. Silver needs cleaning. Since it is missing the stopper and some silver is lifting I'm starting the bid low. The decanter is clear glass with a very intricate silver overlay with beautiful flowers and leaves. The body of the decanter is a lobed shape as is the glass stopper. It has a pontil mark on the bottom and is quite a heavy piece of glass. I can find no markings on the silver to determine whether it is sterling. 925, etc. The decanter is in good condition, with no damage that I can see. The stopper does have damage as you can see in the photo. Although with such intricate work, it's hard to be absolutely certain, but I can only find one spot on the overlay where a bit is missing at the bottom. This is not really noticeable until you examine the piece. The decanter measures approximately 7 1/2" tall with stopper ... morein.
