PAIR 18th CENTURY ENGLISH CUT GLASS LIQUOR DECANTERS Fantastic pair of highly detailed blown and cut glass decanters. 18th century, most likely of English or Irish origin. Classic triple ring formation with cut panels. 3 rings at top are cut in a diamond pattern with ribbing on neck and beautiful cut latticework and alternating oval pattern in the body. Bases are also cut and decorated in a starburst pattern. Both decanters have the original stoppers. Which match the design and fit snugly. Overall condition of this matched pair is excellent. Especially for the age of the pieces. Some wear is evident as expected with a 200 + year old pair of decanters, but this is an exceptionally nice pair with clean and symetrical lines, glass is still brilliant and reflective. Some old discoloration ... moreis seen on the fill lines. Very typical, and invisible when filled with colored liquors. Although stoppers are original, base of one stopper is broken off in interior, this is also invisible in use and can be ground and rounded again by a glass expert if desired. This pair does not have any documented provenance. However, I can pass on the following information which I was told, and may be of interest to the buyer: These decanters were purchased many years ago by a wealthy Seattle couple that collected many antiques, most notibly a large and world class collection of asian artifacts and folk art. When this couple recently decided to downsize, much of that collection was bequested to the asian collection at the Burke Museum and other non asian objects were sold as a seperate estate. This wonderful pair was aquired from the estate at this time. The bottles measure approximately 9.5" tall with stoppers. 4" in diameter. Bottles are a matched pair but have slight variances in size which reflects their handmade quality. Guaranteed to be genuine items as presented. ANTIQUE GEORGIAN 1700S ROCOCO, GOLD, SILVER & OLD CUT DIAMOND RING -WEAR/ REPAIR
Huge. Rococo style, gold, silver and old cut diamond ring, dating from the 1750s/ 70s. This ring is mixed precious metals, it is unmarked but the shank tests as 15ct and the head of the ring is silver. It is set with lots of tiny diamonds, the largest is approx. 3mm in diameter and the smallest approx. 1.25/ 1.5mm. The diamonds are uncut and in their natural diamond shape, which is common for rings of this period. Because they are uncut they are not as sparkley as cut diamonds. The shank of the ring is hand engraved and so is the back of the ring head. The ring is decorated with Rococo style shells on either side of the shank. The front of the ring is very wide, approx. 2.4cm in diameter and the back of the ring shank is 1.5mm. It is a very small finger size and because of the shape of the ring, it is not easy take a size on a jeweller's ... morering stick but its about a UK J/ K or US size 4 3/4- 5 1/4. Approx. weight is 6 grams. Condition: Its a very old ring and they are rarely perfect and this does need a little repair work. Although it can be worn as it is. There are 3 stones missing, one very tiny one at the top edge of the ring and two which are right of the centre stone. There is old glue in the settings of the two missing centre stones, so it looks like there are stones there and its only with a jewellers loupe, that you can see they are missing. There is also a few chips in a couple of the diamonds. The shank is slightly pointed at the back and is a little thin at the point but it seems strong enough but may need soldering in the future.

Impressive Mold-blown Glass Jam Jar with Hand Cut Decoration
This glass jam jar can be used for jam or honey or really any condiment. The maker and age is unknown. The technique used to make this piece appears to be mold-blown with other decorative elements applied by cutting. It's a really pleasing shape with the top opening like a flower. The cover nestles in the petals of the flower. The handle has a hollow interior which forms an interior shape much as a hand made glass paperweight. The piece is 7 1/4 inches high with the cover on. The jar itself. Without the cover, is 4 inches high and 5 5/8 inches in diameter at the top and 3 inches in diameter at the bottom. The bowl itself is 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The cover is 4 inches high above the lip and 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The capacity of the jar is 3/4 cup.

Nice!! J. Hoare American Brilliant 7" Cut Glass Compote Intaglio, Cane, Prism
This beautiful cut glass compote was made by J. Hoare of Corning NY. It took me forever to find the acid mark on the bottom. But I wasn't surprised once I did(and of course I found it by accident) The quality of the glass, depth of the cuts, pattern and resonating ring when tapped all pointed to the maker being one of the finer cutting houses of the American Brilliant period. Picture 9 shows the circular Hoare mark under a scratch, which is a good landmark, as the mark is faint and not easy to find. It stands 7" high by 8" across and has a 24 pointed star on the 5" wide footed bottom. There's a really nice intaglio design of flowers and leaves set into a repeating pattern of cane, prism, star and fan cuts, plus a cut I can't identify in picture 7. The short, thick stem, which widens towards the top, is also cut ... moreon its 6 sides. Condition is pretty good. Picture 5 points to the only two damaged areas-one missing tooth and a flake on another. There are scratch marks on the bottom and there's a tiny flea bite on the bottom edge, but there are no other apologies. Each cut has a rainbow in it. Just lovely. It's a heavy piece, so please wait for an invoice in order to get correct shipping quotes. Shipped within five business days of receiving payment.
