It's very ornate: The inside of the basket is decorated with a etched motif of flowers and leaves. The outer is fluted like a pie crust. The handle has an intricate filigree ornament in a floral and leaf motif. The bottom rim has a relief fern design. The four feet have an ornate relief scrolled design. This cake stand is in good antique condition: The silver plate appears to be intact over most of the stand; it should polish up nicely. The top of the handle might be slightly bent backward, but I do believe it was made that way. I see some scratches in the center of the basket. The handle will remain standing up if you wish. The stand measures about 9" from table top to top of handle. The basket measures 10" across at its widest. CONDITION NOTE: All of our items are vintage or antique. Also known to have been made at Model Flint Glass Co. in 1901.This is a rare antique brides basket with a silver plated base and a beautiful blue and white art glass diamond swirl pattern design. This silver plated base has a lovely floral design and stands 6' tall to the top of the handles 6 1/4" across from handle to handle. I can find any markings on the silver plated base. The handles of the silver plated base are unique in design. It does have two small marks on each side of the handles which looks like something may have been attached to the piece. The glass bowl fit's tight inside the base and has a swirl pattern design with a white opalescent swirl. The top of the art glass has a flat polished edge. I believe this to be a rare antique piece of hand blown in a mold chrysanthemum swirl in a basket form. The glass bowl measures 6 1/2" tall x 3 1/4" in diameter I see no cracks or scratches in the piece I feel a couple of flea bites on the top edge. This is a beautiful rare antique basket. For sale is an ornate Victorian quadruple silver plated bride's basket with an exquisite fluted cased-glass bowl. The pink glass starts dark at the ruffle and flows down to a very pale pink at the center. The underside is white. This unmarked bowl measures 10 1/8" across at its widest. 3" at its tallest, and 3 1/4" across the foot, which has a rough, indented pontil. It is in excellent antique condition: No cracks, breaks, chips, or repairs; just some pimples, a teeny cut mark near the center, stretch marks" in the glass around the ruffles, and 3- 1/4" shallow cuts near the rim on the foot, all signs of having been manufactured more than a hundred years ago. The basket is marked on the bottom rim: Victor Silver Co. Quadruple Plate 1280. It stands 11 1/4" at its highest, 11 7/8" at its widest, and 3 1/4" ... moreacross the inner part where the bowl sits. For sale is an ornate Victorian Pairpoint quadruple silver plated bride's basket with an exquisite ruffled ribbed-glass bowl. The pink glass is ribbed on the underside of the ruffle and is smooth white glass from the sides down to the center. This unmarked bowl measures 10 1/2" across at its widest. 3 1/8" at its tallest, and 3 7/8" across the foot, which has a ground, indented pontil. The mark on the bottom of the basket is an unknown mark, believed to once have been part of a museum collection liquidated by the owners in the early 1980s. Here is an old antique silverplated Victorian Glass wedding bowl stand or basket made by EG Webster + Son. It is marked quadruple plate and number 110. It appears in good shape structurally. I can't tell for sure but the holder section in the center has 3 weld-like marks where it was reattached to the stand at some point. It has some small dents right in this area on the outside also. Otherwsie it seems okay. It all needs to be replated of course. The center round section measures 3 15/16 in inside diameter. Its about 7 1/4 inches tall at the handles. Here is a Cased Blue Micca Art Glass Bride's Basket. With an applied clear ruffled edge. The bowl measures 2 1/4 inches tall and 6 1/2 in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It has a polished pontil mark on the bottom. The Micca flakes throughout the glass really shimmer and add great beauty to this mini basket. We do not have the silver holder. We have another larger size brides basket bowl shown at the end of the pictures for size comparison. It is featured in another auction. Up for auction is a superb 19th century antique silverplate footed bride's basket or centerpiece bowl featuring a raised grape vine motif around the edge. An etched star pattern to the bowl, and a floral handle with a non-monogrammed medallion at the center. It is in overall excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. One tiny dent to the interior of the bowl. Please see photos carefully for details. Measures about 9 5/8" H to top of handle x 4" H to top of bowl x 12" W. Fresh out of a fine old estate! This is a beautiful silveplate Frame.probably for a berry bowl or brides basket. It stands appx. 11" high. and is 6" wide at mid handle. The bowl would have been oval and the insert area measures appx. 5 7/8" by 3 7/8" The side of the handles are decorated with a reticulated floral and bird design. Very ornate. Exquisite antique cased glass Victorian bride's bowl with a flower like form. The bowl is artfully hand painted with delicate blue flowers. Daisies, a gold scroll, and tiny green leaves on a vine. The inside layer of glass shades from a deep ruby red to a lighter cranberry color to a greenish yellow Vaseline glass. The greenish portion of the glass glows a bright green under a black light. The outside layer of glass is white. The bowl has a ground pontil and is marked with the numbers 4479/10. Maker unknown. This beautiful bowl sits in a Barbour Silver Co. footed basket with a handle. The Frame features wonderful Victorian Period designs throughout including Winged Mythical Creatures to the Handle and wonderful Shell form feet. The Pressed Glass Bowl is in excellent all original condition with Rich Gold Gilding and no chips. Cracks or repairs. This is a beautiful little aqua bride's basket bowl that has a firey glow when held to the light. There is a rough pontil mark on the bottom. Bottom is a thin layer of milk glass which is translucent. Bowl measures about 6" in diameter. The top edge of the ruffle is clear and from the outside has a dark rose stripe from the color of the inside of the basket. Reminds me of old fashioned Christmas ribbon candy. The inside bottom is white and fades up to a pale pink and then to the deep rose leaving 1/4" of clear glass at the edge of the ruffles. The applied glass handle is clear and thick. Ground Pontil. Large Antique Silver Pewter Silverplate Compote Brides Basket Bowl Old Ornate
Here is an old piece I haven't been able to find out much about. This is a large basket with a very ornate and detailed motif. This measures 13.25" x 8.5" wide and is 6.5" tall. When you have the handle up it is 13" tall. This appears to be silverplated pewter. The silverplate is mostly gone however so this shows mostly pewter and has hints of a brass color coming out along the rim and handle hinge. Ive searched everywhere and can not find a makers Hallmark. I have no clue who made this or true age but can say it did come from a very old estate. This is highly detailed inside and out, I am sure you will love this despite the heavy plating wear. This likely would benefit from a cleaning and polishing too as this is being sold as found. Victorian large 12 inch diameter very deep ruffled Brides Basket Bowl with gorgeous Victorian Enamel pattern design. The enamel is very detailed in yellow and blue outlined in white against the lighter pink inside glass. The ruffled edges are deep pink and the backside is white with an opalescent look to it. During the Victorian era. Art glass bowls could be found in plain glass or with handpainted decorations. Many had ruffled edges and some even had folds in the glass. These were popular gifts for brides during this time and are now commonly known as“Bride’s Baskets. This Victorian Ruffled Pink Bride's Bowl is 11"x3.5"x3.5" and in excellent condition. Handmade of high quality cased glass with deep cranberry ruffled edges and pale pink tones towards the center. The central base is hand painted with a beautifully detailed enamel floral design. The basket features filigree roses with branch and leaf design and three scroll feet. The handle has a central flower and is attached tightly. There are no breaks or repairs with just a slight bend to the metal which I did not try to straighten. The French Opaline glass bowl is a rare bell shape and has no chips cracks or repairs. Antique Northwood Carnival Glass Bowl- Peacock& Urn" in an Antique Quadruple Silver Plated Bride's Basket This is a BEAUTIFUL& UNIQUE large bride's basket holding a Northwood carnival glass ruffled bowl inside. Both are antique and are exquisite pieces even on their own! The bowl is marked on the bottom with Northwood's underscored capital"N" within a circle. It is a large piece with dimensions of 10.5" in diam. The color is unusual; although I believe it to be of the marigold opalescent color. It looks more like a"peach-ish" color in regular lighting. I have included several photos, with both a white& black background, so that you may be able to make your own determination of what the"true color" may be. This ruffled bowl is of the special" Peacock& Urn" designs. ... moreThe condition of this bowl is overall good; however. There is a"v-shaped" surface scratch near the top of the peacock. There also may be a few other scratches on the bowl, but I cannot tell if they were part of the manufacturing or not. All of the scratches are very hard to see, unless looking very closely. There is also a small bubble inside the glass, made during the creation of the bowl. Please see photos for a closer look at the details and condition. The Bride's Basket/Basket Holder is of the gorgeous Victorian style and is Quadruple Silver Plated. Made by the Florence Silver Co. This footed basket is antique and I believe it to be from the late 1800's. It is large with the dimensions: 12"h x 11"w(at widest part) with a 6" diameter base. The silver plating is beautifully designed with maple leaves and berries at the top and flowers where connected to the base. The feet however are incredibly unique with faces, horns and a mustache. It would not take much effort, and a common household paint stripper would be recommended) The original condition of this basket has extreme plate loss, where the copper is revealed(especially to the top inner bowl surface) and the grape motif all over had a thick residue, to what resembled clumps of cement. I managed to soak this basket to dissolve this thick residue, and reveal it's true motif(if you are interested in viewing photos of this piece's original condition, I would be more that happy to enclose photos) There is also an small area to the inner top bowl surface that has cracks(see photos#7& 8 for this detail) however, poses no issue to fall apart, and lastly, a ding at the underside rim(see photo#9) and lastly, there at the underside base shows signs of repair(see photo#12 for this detail) The glass basket bowl hides the cracks to the inner bowl area extremely well! VICTORIAN MIDDLETOWN SILVER PLATE CO. - PINK CASED GLASS BRIDES BOWL or BASKET
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian Berry or Fruit Bowl. Also known as a Brides Basket or Brides Bowl or Victorian Centerpiece bowl. This bowl is made from a beautiful rose or pink opaline-type glass cased with white glass and edged with gold or yellow translucent glass. This glass is sometimes referred to as peachblow but it is not. The edge of the bowl is ruffled and crimped. The bowl measures about 10" across at the widest and about 6" across at the narrow. It stands about 4" tall. The base of the bowl is 4.25" across at the foot. The bowl sits in a gorgeous silver plated frame made by the Middletown Plate Co. This frame is in wonderful condition. With almost no loss to the plate that I can see. There is residue from old lacquer and some light tarnish, but it should polish up nicely. The frame for this piece is ... morespectacular. It encompasses an apple at the top, cherries with stems and grapes. The detail on this is so finely done that it is a work of art in itself. The frame stands about 14.5" tall and is about 8.5" wide. The span between the handle(s) is about 7.5" approximately 3" up from the base. The base itself is 4.5" wide at the opening. I do not know if the bowl is original to the base as there is some play in the fit, but it does fit perfectly into the frame and when in place it sits well into the base so that it looks like a perfect match. The elaborate frame is a perfect compliment to the understated, but beautiful bowl. There is no damage at all to the glass; no chips, cracks breaks or repairs. The frame is clearly marked"Middletown Plate Co. and"Quadruple Plate" with the number 765 impressed. It is also stamped"Hard White Metal" Victorian art glass bowls such as this were often paired with elaborate brides basket frames(as they are called today) made by companies such as Meriden. Wilcox, James Tufts, Derby or Webster. I do not know who the maker of the bowl is. This could be a piece by Thomas Webb or one of the famous makers of

Fenton first introduced the Peach Crest line in 1941 and it was offered until 1967 only. Peach Crest was made by pouring milk glass over ruby glass and finishing it off with a clear edge. This lovely Brides Basket/Bowl is rather unusual in shape and I have not seen another like it. There are a few tiny black dots on the inside of the bowl but it does not take away from its beauty. The bowl measures 3 1/2" high and is 8 1/2" wide. It is in very good condition without chips. Cracks, or repairs of any kind.
