First of all. I must say that I've ended my listing early cause the t here were some errors in the listing. Up for bid a pair of very beautiful antique vases typical to the victorian era more than one hundred years ago. These vases. That measures 12" tall, are pro bably French. I found them in the house of a 95 years old woma n who was an antiquarian in the 1950's in Quebec city. There were a lot of treasures for sale in her house when she moved. Among them. These 2 vases. They are in very great condition for their age with no major flaws. I would say that they have a few tiny marks and some gold paint loss but the overall condition is still excellent. I've remarked that on the underneath. There's a little piece of glass missing(like a chips but not visible because it's underneath) And under the blue, it is white. ... moreAlso, you may remark on the last pictures that there's some brown inside, in fact there's some muck or something like that that I haven't completely cleaned. 3 Day Auction ENDS on A Tuesday Night. Up for bids is pretty French Antique Jewelry Casket. The color is so beautiful in pale blue Opaline. The hardware and closure is of ornate embossed brass and in fine working order. The condition is good. Just a few things to mention. There is a tiny insignificant minute chip(less than 1/16th" Right by the upper brass fitting. By the way this is made it was most likely like that when put together. It is so tiny that only very close up can it be seen.I took a close up of the front in photo 1 so you can see it. Up for your consideration is this 1890's Antique French Blue Opaline perfume bottle.It is hand blown and hand painted with a white enamel painted design with gold trim.It measures 4 3/4; inch's and with the top on 6 3/ inch's.This Royal Blue Victorian bottle is simple yet very elegant.You can see were it was hand blown on the base and it has a number 34.The stopper also has a number of 24.Condition:The top has a few flea bites on the interior of the rim and there is a small chip on the outside bottle rim.There is some very minor gold wear and two black dots that were blown into the glass when made.It sounds like a lot but it isn't. This fabulous 19th Century Bohemian Moser Panelled Glass Decanter measures about 8-3/4" with the stopper in. It was expertly enameled and gold gilt. The Decanter does have a front with either a Heron or its maybe a stork. The decanter has its original numbered stopper which is really nice specially when it is as unusual a stopper as this one. I believe it is a small shot glass. Now this being said I could be way off this could have held some sort of soap for a bath and been a boudoir/ bath room object of beauty. This vintage white opaline decanter has a frosted blue stopper and base. The bottle has a very pretty blue bow with green and golden leaves and acorns enamel painted on the body of the Jar. The decanter is 7.75" to the top of the stopper that sits nicely into the pencil thin neck that opens 1" wide on top. The body of the bottle is 3" wide and sits upon a blue opaline base. 5 Light Turquoise Blue Translucent Opaline Glass Candle Bobeches Wax Catchers
This is a group of 5 candle bobeches or wax catchers that are all very similar in color and type of glass. But are not all the same shape. They are a light turquoise color of translucent opaline glass, but 3 are matching swirled, crimped rib bobeches, while one is round and cupped slightly upward, and the other is hexagonal and only very slightly cupped upward. The crimped bobeches are 3 3/4" in diameter. The round one is 3 1/8" across. And the hexagonal one is 3 5/8" from point to point. They are all in excellent condition. With no chips, cracks, or scratches. The hexagonal bobeche has 2-3 pin point size nicks or flakes missing near 2 of the points. The round one has a pale brownish discoloration on the bottom side, as can be seen in my photos. There are no defects in the crimped bobeches. I am happy to ship outside the United ... moreStates. Up for sale today is a nice antique blue opaline glass trinket box or casket. Though it is not marked. I believe the piece was made in France. The blue opaline glass lid and base are set in brass ormolu mounts, with ball feet and a hinged lid. There is a small trace of a paper label under the mount on the bottom of the piece, and a"34" in gold leaf inside the lid. The top of this box has a lovely enamel angel or cherub. The piece is in nice condition, with no damage and only light possible wear. It measures approx. 1 3/4" tall(with the lid closed) and is approx. 3 9/16" in diameter(though the legs and hinge do stick out slightly on the sides) What a great piece to add to your collection. The glass is opaque or slightly translucent, and can appear either white or brightly colored in shades of green, blue, pink, black, lavender and yellow. The glass has a high lead content which defined it as"demi-crystal" ... moreor semi-crystal. The primary influences on this style of glass were 16th century Venetian milk glass. And English white glass produced in 18th century Bristol. Many different pieces were produced in opaline glass, including vases, bowls, cups, coupes, decanters, carafes, perfume bottles, boxes, clocks and other implements. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon and peaked during the reign of Napoleon III. All opaline glass is hand-blown and has a rough or polished pontil on the bottom. The biggest ashtray has a bit different hue- with some yellowish and comes with its original box. 4 cm. high. 10 cm. diam. wight 288 grams. The two smaller one are almost identical. This is a beautiful antique blue Opaline milk glass dish/ bowl with the Scroll& Eye pattern. Made by Challinor Taylor& Co. The plate version appears on page 13, image 9a of to reference book Milk Glass by Belknap. Where we are told it came in white, black and blue in four different sizes. It is in perfect condition. With no chips, cracks, stains or rep airs. The glass has swirls and straw marks typical of glass making in the late 1800s era. It measures 7 1/4" across and sits a little over 1 1/2" high. Antique?-French?-Blue Opaline Milk Glass-Trumpet Shape-Unusual Vase? Peice Part
Offered is a peice I ran across that I'm not exactly sure what it is or its use but looks like a vase of sorts. The unusual thing is it has what appears to be brass threads attached to the bottom. It looks quite old and I would think its antique but may be vintage. Its shape is like a horn or trumpet flower. It is a tealish blue opaline milk glass with a embossed design that leads me to beleive its most likely a French peice but again not certain. The threads are attached with what looks to be a glue or clear apoxy as you can see it ran over a bit onto glass but is attached super well. It obviously screw onto something possibally it had a base or the only other thing I could think was maybe a headstone vase, Just not sure? Its very pretty and is in good condition with the exception of one tiny chip on one of the point at top but is very ... morehard to see, I tried to photo the area in last picture and it as stated above has some residue on glass at bottom thread attachment area. It measures 8 1/2" long from tip of points to very bottom of threaded peice. Its 4 3/4" across top from point to point and its opening at top is 2 1/2" The threaded peice is just a smidge under 1" across.
