Antique French Blue Opaline Glass Dresser Vase- FAB. This is a gorgeous little antique mid-19th Century blue French opaline glass dresser vase that stands 3.5" tall. And is 3.25" across the rim. It was mold blown with a pontil mark on the bottom. It is the true transluscent lead glass that original opaline was made from, and is likely from a dresser set since the only items produced in opaline glass of the era were dresser items, other shapes coming later. Pair Antique Blue Opaline Glass Vases 4" Tall Hand Painted Enamel Flowers
This auction is for a gorgeous pair of blue opaline glass vases with hand painted enamel flowers and gilding. They measure 4" tall and 2 1/2" across the tops. There is quite a bit of loss to the gilding overall. Especially on the feet and around the rims of the vases. There are two very tiny chips on the underside of the rim of one vase, one the size of a pin head and the other the size of a pinprick, as shown in the photos. There is no damage to the painted flowers. To my eye, the damage does not at all detract from the beauty of these pieces and I have to really look hard to see it! I have not been able to find anything on this wonderful old pair. It looks as if they were originally spring loaded candle sticks but the columns have filled with wax and I have not taken them apart to inspect. The fabulous element if this pair is the blue opaline globes. Not sure if the are French or not but the look to have been hand blown. A little roughness on the bottom edges from where they were cut but no breaks, cracks, chips or nicks in the glass. The two bases have a few dings as you might expect from age but otherwise no breaks. Bends or repairs. The pair stands 14" high to the top of the globes with the bases measuring 4-1/4" in diameter. Presented is a lovely turquoise blue Antinue glass lidded box. This piece looks like opaline glass. The box is hand painted with raised enamel decoration depicting gold gilt vines.Leaves and flowers. The bronze or brass metal rings and hinded fittings allow the lid to snap closed. This box was probably made between 1850 to 1900. Polished pontil on bottom? The box is signed with 6. on the inside of the lid and box. That is likely the artist's mark left by the painter. The box is in superb condition with the only problem being loss to the gold gilding on the fittings and a little wear to some of the painting at the high contact areas of the piece. It is being listed as what the family related to me that the item was which is a France BLUE Opaline MILK GLASS Dish Portieux Vallerysthal-Lace. I have done some checking and seem to find it listed in other areas as the same title I have on it. But I wanted to let everyone know there may be some confusion on the real name for this piece. Another eBay seller contacted me that it was made by Challinor. Taylor& Company of Tarentum, PA in the late 1880s or early 1890s and that it was not French. Vase measures about 9 5/8" tall and about 3 5/16" diameter at the base. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some grime on the interior near the bottom- the areas I could reach cleaned up easily but I didn't have the right brush or whatever to reach the furthest crevices. The vase has a rough pontil mark on the base. It is able to rock slightly on its base. There are some very minor small irregularities in the glass near the top edge. Antique-French? Vallerysthal ?-Blue Opaline Milk Glass- Epergne Peice
Offered is a peice I ran across that I was advised is called a Epergne piece. By a wonderfully helpful fellow ebayer. It has brass threads attached to the bottom, It looks quite old and antique but not sure of its exact age. Its shape is like a trumpet flower. It is a tealish blue opaline milk glass with a embossed design that leads me to beleive its most likely a French piece with a very close look of Vallerysthal pieces but again not certain. The threads are attached with what looks to be a glue or clear apoxy as you can see it ran over a bit onto glass but is attached super well. Its very pretty and is in good condition with the exception of one tiny chip on one of the point at top but is very hard to see, I tried to photo the area in last picture and it as stated above has some residue on glass at bottom thread attachment area. It measures ... more8 1/2" long from tip of points to very bottom of threaded peice. Its 4 3/4" across top from point to point and its opening at top is 2 1/2" The threaded peice is just a smidge under 1" across. From the bottom, a pale blue to white at the top. Tiny white flowers are scattered, some with enamel dots at center. Bristol Glass was incredibly popular during the"Aesthetic" period when natural motifs were so desired. The enamel and painted designs are highly detailed. The vase hand blown and nicely translucent. Up for sale is a very nice sugar shaker from Vallerysthal& Portieux, Circa 1905. This shaker is the Beggars Hand design that depicts a hand holding a cup with a corrugated pattern in a beautiful robin egg blue opaline milk glass. We have not found any other sugar shakers in this pattern. Only toothpick holders so consider it to be quite scarce. This shaker is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. The inside has a little glue residue that looks to be from the bottom part of the two part lid. This is a heavy shaker weighing 12 ounces and is 4" tall. Hello- This is a gorgeous true French Opaline Lamp. It is double-walled glass. Beautiful clarity and depth. The White Sugar Frosted design is in great shape, with the design repeated on both sides. Really at first glance I thought that they were Cherubs- so this lamp is very subtle. The base and fixture are a little tarnished which is typical for antique lamps. The shade is not included. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a Blue Opaline glass Perfume Bottle with silver tone atomizer. The glass is a very light blue and almost see through. I do think it is a blown glass bottle. It has pink and white flowers hand painted in heavy enamel so you can feel the texture. There is very little loss to the floral enamels and colors are still bright. The style of floral paintings reminds me of some Mount Washington glass items I have seen. There are no makers marks so one never knows for certain. The silver tone collar and atomizer show no major damage and have only a couple very tiny surface scratches. There are no chips. Cracks or fleabites to the glass that I can see. There are a couple of dimples& bubbles in glass which is very common with blown glass. I mention them ... moreto be as accurate as possible but you will hardly notice them. The pink blub and cord are new. I had a hard time deciding on the length of the cord. Most of these photos are taken with a"short cord" The very last photo shows what it looks like with a"long cord" I can fix it however you want, just send me a note with your payment to tell me your preference of"short cord" or"long cord" The bottle is very clean inside and out. The atomizer had a very short tube so I did extend that by adding a piece of longer tubing so it reached the bottom of the bottle. You will see this is one of the photos. The bottle is 4 3/4 inches tall to the top of the silver atomizer and the base is 2 1/2 inches wide. The color and quality of this glass bottle is so unusual and very pretty ~ I know you'll love it! I am offering a 40 year collection of antiques. All items are guaranteed antique and as described. Please check my other auctions for more fine antiques. Being offered in this auction is a beautiful very large pair of Turqoise blue bristol cologne bottles that date from the 1880s. The pair of bottles measure an imposing 10 3/4 inches tall to the top of their ruffled vase stoppers and are 2 1/2 inches in diameter at the base. The enameled birds and grapevines are beautifully painted and are in very good condition with only a bit of wear to the gold trim. There are no chips cracks or repairs to the bottles. There are a few tiny chips to the very bottom of the stoppers but these are minor and are located inside the bottles when in place. These small chips can be easily removed as they are shallow. Although looking like cracks they are surface defects to the inner side of the rim and are definitely not cracks. The vase measures- Height 135mm. Maximum diameter 105mm, diameter of rim 73mm and foot 70mm.
