No chips or cracks This piece is part of a large collection of Czech glass I purchased earlier this year. The pieces have been stored away anyway from 20 to over 30 years ago. Many of the pieces were stored with old prices tags still on them. Many have been removed. But some still have some stickers or a tiny bit or residue. The majority of vases were also used as vases and stored w/o cleaning. This combined with 20 or 30 years of dust, made for quite a bit of cleaning. The vase is characteristic of the Art Deco designs produced by Kralik(Wilhelm Kralik Sohn) which had factories in Eleonoranhein and Ernstbrunn. The piece has a striking Modernist form with curvilinear lines to the flattened spherical body. Pinched neck and finished top. This fabulous float bowl has a gorgeous amber colour. Stunning swirls of opaque and semi transparent dark amber glass are encased within the bowl creating a magnificent marbled effect which looks rather like tortoise shell. The darker opaque glass appears to float like wafts of clouds within the amber glass. Giving ... morethe glass its name. And adding a fabulous sense of depth. This fabulous piece has a most appealing shape. With gently faceted pressed internal sides adding a sunburst effect and a flared top rim perfectly encapsulating all of the style and elegance of the Art Deco period. The inner surface of the bowl has been polished to produce a fantastic sparkle. While the external surface has a frosted matte finish producing a lovely contrast. This stunning float bowl is presented in very good vintage condition. With no chips. Cracks or repairs. The frog would have to be amongst the best we have seen. Usually they have internal bruises but this one has survived remarkably well with just a few tiny rough spots to the edges. There are a few exceptionally minute and very shallow surface scratches to the interior of the bowl noticeable only on extremely close examination in bright raking light but mentioned for complete accuracy. There are some entrapped air bubbles. A standard part of the manufacturing process but again mentioned for accuracy. This bowl appears to have had only light loving use. This and another listed vase were bought in France about 30 years ago and we cannot find any makers mark. We do not know exact age nor manufacturer. We can find no chips, cracks, nor scratches. Fenton Glass Sheffield Line#1800 HTF Aquamarine Blue 8" Cupped Art Deco Vase I just purchased this vintage Fenton Art Glass vase from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The vase was produced as part of Fenton's"Sheffield" line. Pattern No. 1800, which was introduced in 1936. The vase has a striking Art Deco design with fine embossed ribs tightly arranged around the exterior. The larger vases in this line continue to be hard-to-find but this"cupped" 8" version is particularly elusive. The piece is done in the desirable"Aquamarine" shade which shows bright sky blue color and excellent clarity. The vase measures 8" high, 5 ½" wide and 4" I.D. at the top rim. The piece is in very good condition with the only issues being some very, very faint circular scratches on the interior ... moreabout 1/2 way down, you have to look closely against a strong light. Up for auction is a rare ruby red heavy Art Deco glass vase. Maybe made by Duncan Miller in the 1920ies. The vase is very unusual. The shape resembles a Crocus flower with a ruffled/ crimped top and is in excellent condition for it's age. The surface is shiny and bright. There are no chips or cracks or cloudiness, only some dust/ dirt. I've cleaned the vase a little, but it surely could be polished some more. The vase is 6 inches tall and the top measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter. The bottom disc is 3 inches in diameter. This rare piece is a great collectible and decorative display item. Octagon shaped, smoked and cut glass vase with original label that states"Made in Czechoslovakia" Research shows this to be a Moser design, and it is shown in the book"Moser, Artistry in Glass" by Baldwin and Carno.
