Here is a really beautiful antique! Here is a Loetz Glass vase from around 1900? It measures about 5" tall. The opening is about 2 1/8" across. It has a really cool iridescent coloring to it. This was bought from a storage unit from I assume an antiques dealer. I really don't know much about this. So my information is based on the sticker that the previous owner had on it and some research of my own. It is in fantastic shape. No damage on this. Really stunning piece! UNIQUE Antique Bohemian Iridescent Green Art Nouveau Glass OWL Vase - Loetz era

The vase does react a light green, but not a neon green under a black light. The body has a large quilted diamond pattern through out. Eyes. Beak, feather wings, and legs with out talons that serve as the footed base are applied glass. Not marked. Unknown. And could be from Harrach or Loetz. Decor does remind me of Olympia. Both glass houses did produce owl and other figurines during the Art Nouveau period and in the Tango Czech years. The stabilty of the vase for it to sit upright is due to the bottom of the tail and leg of footed peg base is cut with a smooth polished surface. Excellent Condition: No distracting chips. Hairline breaks ... moreor mineral deposit. Only flaw found by touch is on the bottom of the feathered tail there is a teeny chip from surface wear and can't be seen unless you flip the vase over to find. Beautiful antique 19th Century Royal Vienna Vase. The vase has a nice maroon color with elegant gold leaf designs that are very detailed. On the front of the vase is a scenery of a woman and her lambs. The setting is very cute and well detailed. The vase is in excellent condition and there are no chips. Cracks, or breaks. The whole vase is just amazing condition, over 99% of the gilding is still intact on the vase and the only thing is that are super small white area on the maroon of the vase, but it doesn't really matter to the over all condition of the vase. The vase has the royal Vienna hallmark on the bottom of the vase and is also signed. The age of the piece is late 19th Century and height of the vase is 9 inches and the base is square and the diameter of the base is 3 1/4 inches. Please look at all the pictures. Antique Art Glass Vase LOETZ Green Purple Iridescence Art Nouveau Style Czech
I used to be a big collector of art glass back when you could actually find it and this was a piece I always liked very much. Although unmarked I am almost 100% sure it is Loetz glass. It is in a classic shape and the glass is a green with purple iridescence. There is an organic design that almost resembles peacock feathers. It stands about 6" tall. There is one small fracture on the inside rim that looks like a chip but is on the inside of the glass and can barely even be felt with the finger. I think you can see it well in the photo. Like I say it is not a chip and can only be seen at certain angles. At the top of this there is a tiny nick in the glass that I'm sure was the cause of the fracture. It is fairly minor damage for such a nice piece of glass. I am unsure of the age but I am guessing it was made in the 1920's-30's ... moreera. ANTIQUE GERMAN BROCKWITZ MARIGOLD"GOLDIRIS" FOOTED CURVED STAR CARNIVAL GLASS VASE! Pretty vintage carnival glass Curved Star or Cathedral celery vase from Brockwitz Glass Company. Circa early 1900's. Brockwitz is a well known German glass manufacturer.their glass being greatly sought after today as it carries wonderful irridescence and artistry of design. The company was located in the Elbe Valley, not far from Dresden.it was a major factory that began glass production in 1904 and at it height of production employed over 1200 workers. Thanks to German glass researcher Dieter Neumann, we now know that a Brockwitz catalog with a date of 1915 shows illustrations of the designs we know as Rose Garden and Curved Star(Brockwitz called them Rosen and Zurich) The notation under each indicates the the vases were in the color of"Goldiris" ... morewhich is now what we refer to as Marigold. Another notation in the same book along two unknown designs is"m. eigebranntem Lusterdekor" which roughly translates to"fired on iridescence" This confirms that Brockwitz was making Carnival Glass on or before 1915, as were US glass makers. And not"after" as many had previously thought. Early Carnival Glass collectors did not know either this Curved Star pattern or shape of the celery vase, so began calling the pattern Cathedral and the shape as a chalice.and it is still sometimes still mis-identified that way. While the pattern has traditionally been credited to Brockwitz and were shown in their 1915 catalog, Glen Thistlewood has pointed out that Eda and Karhula also made a similar pattern in a tall vase. Our example offered here of the Curved Star, Cathedral or Zurich pattern celery vase or chalice is a beautiful footed vase with wonderful color and a fabulous geometric design. Too much heat was applied in the iridization process, causing what should be a bright gold finish to a spotty and brownish gold finish. I see a couple of minute marks inside the glass. But cannot be felt inside or out. I have examined closely. It is not cloudy at all and in beautiful condition. Has cut butterflies. This is a beautifully painted vase. At first I thought they were violets. Or violas but now I think they are lilacs. I have tried to research the marks but I am showing a close up as I got nowhere. All the marks are included in the fourth picture. It is 11" tall and encrusted with lots of gold including brilliantly within the spray of flowers. It is perfect although there is a mark shown that is in the surface of the matte ivory; it looks like something metal was rubbed against it in the handling or moving of it. I don't know how to remove that. It is definately on the surface and has not scratched the vase.

Flaring at the top to a ruffled rim. Rim has double impressed wavy border on the inside. Ground colours are mustard/golden yellow through orange to mahogany browns. Slip decorated and enamel painted flowers, stems and foliage. Stems form a delicate pattern below flowers that are soft and creamy and deep, organic green leaves. The match between design of painting, shape and ground colours seems to be strongly influenced by Japanese art of the time. Each element subtley echoes the others. This style i s called Jugendstil Faience. It’s very tall. Standing 13” tall. As noted in Rick Erickson’s book, Royal Delft, A Guide to De Porceleyne Fles” the tin-glazed pieces were expensive to produce and were only made from about 1897 to 1907. Pg 211-212] The pieces are hard to find and when you do it’s not uncommon to see glazing chips(not with the porcelain itself, but with the tin-glaze) For its age the vase is in overall great condition. There are no chips or cracks. It does have a very tiny glaze nick on the corner at the top rim(have to look real close to see it) and what appears to be two glazing chips(or misses? ... moreat the top. They are not rough but smooth to the touch. Feels more like glaze misses that could have occurred during the glazing process at the factory. At each glaze miss is a very small shallow hairline. They are not at all noticeable from even a short distance and does not detract from the rarity of this piece. On the bottom is the painters signature for Thomas van Arum(worked for the factory from 1890 to 1945) Year code U(for 1899) and model number 1258. In 2003(when Rick Erickson's book was published) A vase just like this one(on page 212) was rated with a rarity of 1(the author knows of no more than three examples) and a price of $1000. The vase has a ground base. I think that this is probably English or perhaps Czech in origin and probably from the late 19thC or early 20thC. The vase measures 5 3/4" in height. The leaf is made of amber rigaree and the top addition is ruby. There are no cracks. Chips or fleabites. The calculated shipping includes insurance and tracking.
