Antique Silver Mercury Glass This is a lovely pair of decorative mercury glass with polished and matte silver fields raised with delicate hand painted enamel raised flowers. I am a bit puzzled. I was told they are candlestick Holders for thin tapered candles. I also think may have been bottles with missing stoppers or even delicate bud vases. The bottoms have holes that do not go all the way through, so they will hold water or liquids. They measure about 6.5" high and the bases measure about 2-3/4" across. The top portion is clear glass. Centers are matte silver and the round bases are shiny polished mercury glass. The openings are about 1/2 of an inch in diameter. They are in very nice condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. Ormolu mounted porcelain vases with turned white marble pedestals, are believed to be of Russian origin and date from the late eighteenth century. They feature urn-shaped bodies with hand-painted floral decoration on front and rear, ormolu bronze foliate and ram head mounts, set upon white marble pedestals with gilt bronze mount with holly wreath motif. Square plinth brass bases with on-off switches were added in the early twentieth century to accomodate lamp wiring. Wiring, sockets and upper portion of the lamp hardware are new, and the lamps are ready for use. Each measures 22" tall to the top of the socket, 8" wide and 6.5" deep(55.9, 20.3 and 16.5 cm) and each weighs an estimated 18-24 lbs. Condition is very ... moregood. There is no Back stamp on the piece however there is some stamped/embossed numbers or letters on the bottom of one of the vases. But it is hard to make out. However I'm sure that THIS IS AN ORIGINAL SET. I have proudly displayed this piece on a sideboard for years but need to downsize as I'm in the process of moving. The piece is in used condition. One of the vases has had a repair done to both ends of the top flared edge. I don't know if the clock works as I never have tried it- I only used the set for display purposes. Such a wonderful recent estate sale find! Pair of mid 19th century vase book ends. These measure 12" tall and about 5" across. The base is 4" x 3 1/2" The bases are made of painted granite. There are some condition issuses. One of the glass vases has a rim chip and the other has a very small fleabite chip. The glass is old. Original and has small bubbles. There is some very light chipping to the front of one of the bases and there is paint loss. Please view all pics. I believe these book ends may be French in origin. They are truly lovely and unusual. Featuring a gold lacquer design of pheasants and flowers atop a stunning, Ge type crackled eladon glaze. These exquisite antique vases come fresh from an upstate New York collection. They date to the mid 19th Century era(Qing Dynasty, circa 1840-60s) and comes from a non-smoking household. Like all our auctions, the vases are being offered here with a low opening bid and no reserve price. These vases are very sturdily potted. And glazed a deep grey-green celedon hue. Easch vase features a boldly painted design of peonies, lotus blossoms, and pheasants perched upon gnarled boughs. The vases' raised footrims are very neatly finished. One vase is in very good condition, with the only flaw ... morebeing a hint of light surface wear and some light to moderate enamel loss to areas of the lacquered design. The other vase is in fair to good condition, with the obvious flaw of an old, somewhat sloppy glue repair to the middle where, long ago, the vase must have broken neatly in half. Additionally, there are a several small(2" to 4" long) and one long(11" hairline cracks in the vicinity of the repair, some with a few a small glaze chips nearby(the longer hairline extends across part of the base) Additionally, this vase also has a moderate amount of wear to the lacquer design and one tiny(2 mm) glaze chip to the rim. Each vase measures a generous 15 1/4" 38.5 cm) high by approximately 8" 20.5) in diameter at the widest point. Like many similar porcelain wares of the late Qing Dynasty. The vases are unsigned. This is a matching pair of imported Chinese 7 flute Tulipiere tulip vases. They have Chinese markings stamped on the bottom. There are 4 designs featured on this vase in the different rows from bottom to top. The vase itself is a soft milky blueish/green and the designs are all done in a darker blue shade. The vase measure just over 9" tall and just over 6" wide at the fattest part(middle) The two have zero cracks or chips. They do contain markings from imperfections while being made. Antique Mid 19thc Staffordshire Figure of a Pair of Sheep as a Spill Vase Lovely Staffordshire spill vase with two sheep. One a ram and one a ewe. The spill vase is 4.5 inches to the top of the spill holder and is 5.25 inches long. The sheep stand approx 2 inches high on a rocky mound strewn with porcelain granular grass. The sheep have granular porcelain fleeces. The sheep have gorgeous expressions and are very well modelled. The condition is good with just a branch missing from the tree and some rubbing to the gilt line which runs around the base. These two are just waiting to join a flock!
