There are no chips. No cracks and no breaks in this sweet little syrup pitcher. There is a significant amount of crazing, so please view all of my photos. Antique Aesthetic Victorian Silver Plate Syrup Pitcher Lily Of The Valley 1865
Stamped"Middletown Plate Co. Triple plate and it has a clear patent date of 1865. This was one year after the beginning of Middletown Plate. Really nice for its age. I haven't tried to polish it. I kind of like it the way it is. The color is more like in the third photo. Just keep that in mind. The details are amazing! It has a fine dappled texture to give it a matte finish. Has a delicate beaded rim and a figural head on the lid top and one the handle. One small dent on the side as seen in the photo and the foot is not perfectly smooth. Otherwise. This auction is for an Antique Hammer formed Silver Plate Pitcher or Ewer made by the highest of quality silversmiths Barker Bros. Ellis Barker) Barker Brothers merged with Ellis& Co. in 1931 to become Ellis Barker in the USA and Barker Ellis in England- there are a number of hallmarks for Ellis Barker the first of which is the 3 Stars as seen on this piece which began use in 1860 followed by the Pineapple(1906) The Menorah(1912) The Scallop Shell(1912) The"MS" 1912) and the Gate(1932) marks- actually Ellis Barker didn't become known as Ellis Barker/Barker Ellis until after the merger. Antique 1860's- 1870's Rogers Smith& Co. Meriden. CT Syrup Pitcher#187. Patent October 24, 1865 Quadruple Silverplate 8" Tall. 3" Diameter Base, 4.25" Diameter at Flared Body Near Fine From a homesteader's estate in Leadville. CO, this beautiful syrup pitcher had two elegant figural heads- One at the top and one on the handle, creating an early Art Nouveau effect. Several decorative bands run around the body of the pitcher. A spout under the lid helps control the flow of syrup and collects the excess in a well or groove that flows back into the body of the pitcher. The hinge and pin are in fine working order. Antique Victorian Blue Opalescent Optic Swirl Glass Syrup Pitcher A wonderful glass pitcher featuring a blue opalescent swirl pattern with the original metal spring top lid. The clear blue glass handle is applied. The top/ lid is engraved with the latter 1880's Pat. date(see pic. 6) I don't believe the lid was made to come off, I have not removed it or really even tried being it fits so securely& tight. Measures about 6.5" to the top of the lid. In very nice condition showing the normal age wear. No chips, cracks or repairs. Noticed a couple of straw lines(felt the grooves) under the applied handle, is common in the older glass. Antique Victorian period opaque milk glass pitcher with painted floral design. Possibly"bleeding hearts" The lid is made of pewter and marked on the inside of the lid"Pat. July 15, 84" The pitcher is in very nice condition with no chips or cracks with the exception of the perimeter of the top where the lid fits on. I believe the chipping there was done in an effort to place the lid before glueing. The chips are consistently the same.The lid is removable with traces of old glue, probably original. This is a plastered on lid and the top is in excellent condition. I believe it is made of pewter. Base of the lid is marked Pat. Oct 31 1871 and top of the lid marked Jan 29 84. There is one 1/8" bubble on the outside which you can feel. The outer ring on the inside base I was unable to clean. Balance is clear with no cloudiness. Balance of item has no chips. 544x376 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE You are bidding on a beautifully decorative painted ceramic or porcelain pitcher with a hinged metal lid that looks to be pewter. Approximately 8” x 4” From my great-grandmother’s house in Boston. Massachusetts where I grew up, this lovely piece now needs another home. I have seen it in a glass display cabinet ever since I was little, and I am now 60 years old! It was lovingly kept out of the light and moisture. The handle must have been repaired a long. Long time ago, because I had never noticed the two small cracks until now. They actually blend in with the gold painted decoration. The handle is strong and functional. The lid is attached with original rivets and the hinge is tight and straight. It has not been cleaned or polished in over 60 years. Only dusted! I am not sure of the metal. ... moreBut it is very similar to old pewter. There is one small chip on the base that is barely noticeable. It also fits in with the decoration. Antique CLEAR HOBNAIL Glass Syrup Pitcher w/ Clean Handle - 5-Part Mold - OLD!
Antique CLEAR GLASS Hobnail Pitcher with Clear Handle. Probably a Syrup Pitcher. Measures 5 inches tall and 2-1/2 inches across. Very cylindrical in shape with NO bulging out at the belly. Interesting shape. Has some tiny little nicks on the ends of some of the hobnails and two of the hobnails on the bottom of the base have significant chips and one of those hobnails is almost missing. Looks like this piece was made from a five-part mold and you can see the faint seam lines. No maker's mark that I can find. We are happy to combine items. thanks for looking!

It is very old and the camphor glass is in very good condition. There is a small chip with rough edge located on the handle at the bottom. Also has a very small hairline crack at bottom of handle. A very nice example of one of the classic patterns of Early American Pattern Glass from Hobbs. Brockunier, Co. This pretty SYRUP PITCHER is done in the"Hobnail" pattern with an amber top and frosted bottom- known as"FRANCES WARE" It stands about 7" tall and is 4" wide across the body. Including the handle. There is just 1 chipped hob- low on the body in the frosted area- opposite the handle- close-up shown in photo#4. There are also several tiny hobs around the base that have little chips or roughness. The pewter lid shows surface wear but the hinge is still nice and tight- securely attached to the glass. Circa: 1885- 1892

Please refer photos& ask questions. PLEASE NOTE: AS IS" Antique condition Very old 19th Century item with damage. Used with wear and flaws. Finish shows scratches. Dark tarnish, small dings and dents. Note scratches. Dark marks, tarnish, and small dings. I did try to enlarge several of my photos and I avoided the flash because of glare it produced. I will not polish and will let that up to the buyer. Design is ornate with tiny details of three part leaves in etched line relief. Somebody said it is"Ivy on ... morethe Vine"and the leaf motif goes around both sides. The interior of lid. Top(spout neck) and the underneath bottom are still shiny. Handle is very gracefully curved and securely attached. The lid has detached on the lip back edge of the top and has a ding on rim edge. The hinge is straight and doesn't show damage and that surface is rather smooth so I think it could possibly be repaired by a jeweler. The finial on the top of lid looks like a stylized"fleur-de-lis" finial. Even with these issues it still fits nicely on the pitcher. I did toy with the idea of having this repaired to use as a serving piece. I also was approached by an artist who makes small tabletop fountains and bird feeders from antique silverplate. but I think it should go to a collector. My grandmother used it for maple syrup when she served crepes& pancakes AND only REAL Canadian Maple syrup would do for her family! She and I shared of love of horses and a portion is going to support OTTBs. Very dainty and pretty. It really is nicer in person. BUT AGAIN please be comfortable with the flaws I have mentioned. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 5&3/4" SYRUP I don't know the maker on this piece. It is in good condition. The plate is very good. Not worn off with exception to the spot I showed on the very bottom. Pretty floral and scroll pattern with a wicker covered metal handle. The wicker is in fine shape. No cracking. The hinged cover fits nice and snug with no issues. The only issue is there is a slight impression to the right of the cartouche(spot where there would have been monograms) You can barely notice it as you can see in the photo. Beautiful 130 year old Syrup made by Meriden Silver Plate Co. Hand Chased this beautiful piece has the pattern#1413 with the name Satin Shield. I was able to find this information through a scan of the Meriden Silver Plate Co 1883 Catalog. At the time this piece was sold for 5.75. Certainty not a cheap price so many years ago! Crafted of quadruple silver plate, this pitcher was made circa 1880 by the Wilcox Company of Meriden, CT, one of the finest American silversmiths of the period. Finely chased on each side with a large maple leaf encircled by a leafy garland and oval in design, the body of the pitcher is supported by hoofed animal legs. The applied handle is ample in size, smooth in feel, with just ... morethe right amount of curvature for a fine grip. The top of the handle has a place for the thumb to rest, which features a whimsical figure. The hinged dome lid and the flap on the spout are in excellent working order. The interior, darkened with age, is in fine condition. The pitcher is beautifully embossed throughout with no dents, dings, or repairs and has a fine patina. There is a very faint scratch line above the maple leaf on one side and another scratch of the same class on the dome lid. Please examine all photographs carefully.
