A very nice ANTIQUE SPONGEWARE SYRUP PITCHER JUG made around 1920's. It is covered all over with a deep cobalt blue sponging decoration which makes a great contrast to the yellow clay. Measures 6-1/4" high and is just under 4-1/2" wide from the edge of the bulbous body to the end of the handle. Is in EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO CRAZING. This is a beautiful 4.25' tall pitcher. On the bottom it appears to say Vermont Grade A with either 1255 or 1855. It is hard to read so I enlarged it quite a bit to see it. Vintage / Antique Heisey syrup pitcher or jug wheel cut rose pattern pat'd 1910
Up for your consideration is a vintage or antique syrup jug or syrup pitcher made by Heisey glass. not sure how old exactly- only that it was made after April 5. 1910. There is a wheel cut rose and leaf pattern on both sides of the 4 1/4" tall pitcher(not including the metal part of the lid that sticks up- to open it- and adds another 1/2" or so to the total height) The Heisey H in a diamond trademark is visible on each side of the spout. There is appropriate wear on this pitcher. some scratches on the base and minor scuffing on the handle(not easily felt or seen without magnification) Most of the wear is evident on the metal top, which is removable. it has been polished so often that the brass base metal is beginning to show through. there is some pitting of the plating on the underside of the lid where the patent date is printed(shown ... morein photos) There is a manufacturers flaw on the lip of the pitcher where there was a"dip" in the glass of the rim and when it was polished flat at the factory, the"dip" created sort of a"dimple" right at the end of the spout(shown in the photos) this"dimple" does not affect the function or structural soundness of the piece and is not a defect. This little pitcher is heavy and almost weighs one pound- empty. Antique Pearlware / Lusterware Syrup Pitcher
Fresh from an estate is this wonderful old pearlware or lusterware syrup pitcher. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The metal lid is on securely and has a good spring to keep it closed. It is marked Royal Rochester on the bottom. Royal Rochester did the handpainting and the beautiful pearlware glaze. But the form was produced by another firm and I can't quite get the name as it is under the Royal Rochester mark. This was not unusual in the early 1900's and many firms, such as Pickard and Stouffer did this. I would date this, because of the way the metal lid is constructed and applied, to the first quarter of the 1900's. This fine old syrup pitcher is fine porcelain. It is about 5 1/2" tall. One thing I love about finding fine old antique pieces is trying to find out the history about them. Who made them, ... morewhen they were made. According to the authors. This pattern was made using molds for"Buckeye Lattice, Reverse Swirl" they state that this pattern was previously confused with Hobbs' Windows Swirl" Measures: 6.5" tall. 4" wide across the body including the handle, 2.5" diameter base Condition: Excellent- Previously Owned" antique. The tin lid shows wear to the finish giving it a darkened"charred" look to one side- the hinge is partially loose but still has some tension- it is securely attached and works well. The glass is UNDAMAGED! NO ... morechips. Cracks, heat checks, or repairs! Anything that looks like a crack in any of the photos is distortion of the image seen through the glass- example: the lines seen through the base of the handle are actually a magnification of the gap between the swirls on the body under the clear applied handle. Antique Pat. 1865 WILCOX SILVER PLATE Syrup Pitcher, Engraved in 1879
Silver plate syrup pitcher stands 8-1/2" tall to the top of its fancy knob. With a bottom diameter on the footed rim of 3-1/8" No spout on the outside, it's on the insert inside. Beautiful shape, with fancy decorations on the handl(leaf) where the handle attaches to the body of the pitcher, the little thumb knob on the lid, and the top knob. Engraved on the front, Ray/ Nov. 30th'79. The bottom is marked with the logo(crossed hammers) and lettering of the Wilcox Silver Plate Co. and the words PATENTED OCT. 24, 1865. It also has the number 1129, and some lettering that isn't stamped clearly, that I THINK says QUARDRUPLE PLATE above the logo. There is a lot of tarnish. Some surface wear in the form of scratches and scuffs(biggest scratch is a vertical one, that goes down the front, through the engraved area) and the bottom ... morefooted rim is slightly bent. There is a rough area of wear on most-extended edge toward the bottom. It still stands solidly, though. Hinge on lid works well. Needs a good cleaning inside, and perhaps a polishing, unless you like the look of tarnished old silver. Still a great piece for anyone collecting old syrups or Wilcox items. They have been in our family for many, many, years. They are very rare in that they are not monogramed. They are 4 inches tall for the creamer and almost 6 inches tall for the sugar and syrup with the lid on. The sugar; creamer; syrup have a mat finish with the mirror on the front were engraving goes is shinny and the top of the syrup and sugar are regular silver finish. Gorgeous set. No dents or scratches noted. Slight pitting on plate used by syrup. They are a wonderful set and so unusual!

This is a sweet little antique salt glazed pitcher.just 6" tall overall. It was most likely for syrup or cream and at one time it must have had a metal(probably pewter) hinged lid as there are the two holes near the top rim towards the handle and one still has a bit of the pewter pin in it. It has a wonderful cactus pattern on its putty color body.even the handle is formed like a cactus leaf. There is an impressed number on the bottom which looks like(I think) a"36" and there is another little impressed sunburst mark.I do not know the maker but maybe these are a clue. Extremely rare 19th century Goofus Glass syrup pitcher. Puffed rose design. 6 1/2" tall, base diameter is 4 1/2" Very good condition, no cracks or chips, scattered losses to the paint, which is pretty normal for Goofus glass. At one point, it probably had a screwed in tin top, which is no longer there. I've had lots of Goofus Glass over the years, but have never even seen a syrup pitcher! The lid is nicely molded to fit the curvatures of the pitcher spout area. The lid is pin connected inside near the top of the pitcher. It isn't intended to be removed. This pitcher/lid is of fine craftsmanship. ~The lid is imprinted with: Thompson Broadhead Patient Sheffield in tiny script behind the thumb leaver. Research lead to R.
