Wine, or some other gift for the deceased. The light green glaze became known as“Celadon Green” so named for the color– and is one of the most celebrated styles of ancient China. The lower portion of the neck possesses a circumferential display of human figures, believed to represent the deceased’s family or ancestors. Above the ring of figures wrapping around the circumference of the neck is a depiction of a dragon. With respect to this particular specimen, the glaze shows some minor oxidation(decomposition) due to caustic alkalinity of soil in which it was buried. Though the majority of the glaze remains intact. Glossy, and smooth to touch, there are a few lightly oxidized patches where the glaze is a bit rough and chalky to the touch. Antique Silver Mounted Rim and Cut Glass Wide Vase London 1901
This is a very good Antique Cut Glass& Silver Mounted Rimmed Vase. It is of a good size and I can best describe it as being of a wide cylindrical shape with a bubous base. It has a diamond. Star and lattice pattern in the cut glass body and the underside has a pattern of thin petals with a plain centre. It is topped off with a mounted narrow silver rim which has clear hallmarks Assay Office: LONDON Date: 1901/02 Makers Marks: T.W& S Dimensions: 6 inches tall. The top diameter is just over 3.5 inches and the diameter of the bulbous base is 4.5 inches. The silver rim is just over 0.5 inch wide. The vase weighs 707g(so overseas postage will be high, so please see the cost listed for your particular Country before you commit to purchase) Condition: There are no chips or cracks in the glass. Antique Silver Rimmed Clear Glass Stem Vase - H/M London 1907/8
Presented here for sale is an antique clear glass stem vase with a solid silver rim which is hallmarked London 1907/8. The glass base is like 4 stems coming out from the centre then twisting and looping back to form the main stem. It reminds me of a cliff face hewn out by the sea and forming an arch. The silver rim is intact if a little ragged on its inner rim. The hallmark has nearly been polished off but is still visible. The makers mark has not been so lucky. There is a slight crack just under the silver rim. Although you can only feel it from the inside. The base has a few chips& nibbles but when it's stood up only one is visible from the side. Genuine French Galle Art Glass Vase With Antique Newspaper Article 4 Provinance
A Galle art glass vase in excellent condition. It stands 17 3/8" tall. I purchased this at a auction in New Hope Pa. in December of 1997. A newspaper article gives provenance to this piece of glass. It's a valuable part of this vase purchase. Internally decorated with pink glass and overlaid with lavender and green glass. Then acid etched to give the Cameo effect. The vase was one of a pair boxed and placed in the trunk. One is in perfect condiition and.SADDLY, the other broken and in box with pieces. as seen in photos 9& 12. Offered for bidding is a beautiful antique opalescent glass narrow bowl or hat vase made in appx. 1910 by Fenton. It is made of clear glass. With white opalescence at the rim, and an open lace edge. Other colors were added to the Fenton line in the 1930s, but this opalescent white, as well as blue, green and canary yellow, are part of the original early version, which began production in 1910. The basketweave texture is pressed into the outer surface only; the inside surface is smooth. This bowl measures appx. 5 1/2 inches(14.0cm) in diameter. And stands appx. 3 inches(7.6cm) tall at the rim. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in pictures 3 through 5, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. The vase is Victorian c1870-1880 and are quite possibly Czech in origin. It is an example of what is known as"Mary Gregory" glass- colored glass with white enamel work depicting images of children. It measures 6.5 inches tall and has a pontil mark to the base. Condition is good with no cracks or breakages but you will see there is one large nibble to the rim and various tiny knocks. GREAT VINTAGE, ANTIQUE MILK GLASS VASE WOOD MOLD BLOWN, SWAGS AND HOB NAILS
Nice early milk glass vase of small/medium size of exceptional style and quality. It is obviously hand blown into a mold. As exidenced by the mold marks on the sides. It is blown into a Three piece mold. The base shows swirls of a wood mold. And has the mold number 304. I do not know who the maker is. Please notice the swags at the shoulder and base. Also incorporated are hobnails at the neck and base, I do not find any chips or cracks around the body or base. However, the mouth shows a deal of"roughness" which to me indicates that this piece was blown into the mold from the mouth, and the pontil was snapped off at the neck, which subsequently was not polished, and the roughness is a condition of manufacture. The vase is pink glass on the outside. White glass on the inside, and the crimped edge is clear. It is not signed nor has a maker's mark on the bottom, but there are many examples of his work online and they don't have any signature either. Measures approximately 9.75" Tall x 7" Diameter. Condition: No chips. No cracks. There's a small squiggle line on the side. The last 2 photos are the squiggle mark close up and how it looks on the vase from a distance. There are a few bubbles in the glass also. But they don't break at the top leaving any chip or something. I took photos of the small bubbles and have arrows pointing to them. Antique vase from European origin. Early 1900's. It consists of 2 identical pieces, but one is severely damaged so the offering is for 1, and the 2nd(damaged) piece goes free if you want it. Measures 8.75" high. Base and top and handles are made of metal. It has not rusted through the years, and may improve look with cleaning. The central part is probably painted glass; when put against a light you can see it is translucent. But not transparent. 2 ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ERA CRANBERRY GLASS PIECES VASE AND PINCHED TUMBLER
Up for auction is a pair of wonderful Victorian era cranberry glass items. One is a tumbler with pinched sides. It had a ground and cut glass base. The other is a melon ribbed vase with ground bottom. These two pieces are pre 1900s and are made of good quality crystal glass. The vase dose have some air bubbles and one inclusion. The true color was hard to capture in the photos but it is very close to what you see in the photos. Tumbler measures 6" tall and the vase is 5" Condition. No chips, cracks or other damage at all just the normal scratches on the bottom of the vase. Photos best describe. Feel free to ask any questions or the need for more photos.
