Antique Glass CREAMER With STERLING SILVER Overlay WITH LID Small Lidded Pitcher
Here is a charming little creamer from the first part of the 1900's. With a sterling silver overlay in a stylized flower motif. This creamer or syrup pitcher is unusual because it has a matching glass LID, not often seen with creamers of this sort. All the silver is intact both in the floral design, on the trim around the rim, and on the knob on top of the lid. No cracks, chips, stains to the glass. Very unusual antique red art glass vase. The vase has multiply shades of red with a pitched base design and a long neck that flares open. The flared top and its unique shape make it difficult to identify it as a vase or pitcher. My best opinion as to the origin and age of the piece is early 20 th Century. Loetz art glass. The workmanship and quality suggest that the vase is at least early 20 th Century. The overall condition of the piece is great with no major damage at all. This listing is for an antique Fostoria Glass EAPG Atlanta or Lion Head pattern glass square shaped creamer. It is in good condition with a few small nicks and flakes here and there. Usual factory straw marks and bubbles. The worst damage is a flake off the bottom corner of base(see photo# 8) A few tiny nicks to base edge. Some scratches and rough spots to handle, some outer corners, and the interior from years of cleaning etc(see photos 9 and 10) And there are 2 straw marks on top rim with a nick on outer edge between them(see photo 11) The spout has a little roughness as do the Lion's noses, but no real chips. This is an EAPG Clear Syrup Pitcher. The top is made of tin or possibly pewter. Which also opens and closes nicely. The top is also imprinted with two dates. April 26, 81 and March 28, 82. The pitcher is 7.5" high, 4" wide, 3.25" wide at the base. Overall the pticher is in very good condition. But, if you look at the last two scans you will see the main issues with the piece. C. 1920s. The pitcher is in the Victorian hobnail design, and made of white glass cased over a layer of pink. The handle is an opalescent white. It is in mint condition, free of any flaws. The pitcher measures 8" tall and about 7" wide. How do I know it is Loetz? When I first noticed the"button" applied to the middle portion where handle meets the pitcher. I recognized the same design on verified Loetz tango pieces. Then, I saw the Loetz acid-etched mark which is"Made in" Czecho, and"slovokia" on three consectutive lines. I found this piece at an estate sale along with more Early American Pressed Glass and a lot of other interesting items! Check out my! Inverted thumbprints or ovals alternate with prisms in 2 bands on this vintage creamer. I have been advised this pattern is Apollo. And it was made by U S Glass. The creamer is 3 1/2" in diameter and 6 3/4" tall. It measures 5 3/4" from the handle to the spout. There are some straw marks in the glass. And they are a nice sign of early glass. This piece is in good condition. There are no chips. Flakes, or cracks! Please ask questions! I do my best to describe items. But I am not an expert in all areas. Most of my items are vintage. Antique Milk Glass Large Syrup Pitcher PETUNIA SWIRL Metal Spring Top EXC!
Up for your consideration on this auction is: Antique Milk Glass Large Syrup Pitcher PETUNIA SWIRL Metal Spring Top Okay. I had to dig deeper into my reference material to give you the following information that I could find on this syrup pitcher. According to William Heacock from his 1976 book entitled Encyclopedia of Victorian Colored Pattern Glass, Book III- Syrups, Sugar Shakers& Cruets(page 50 if you have this book) He pictures this piece and claims the pattern name of Petunia Swirl but gives no positive identification on the manufacturer. Also I found a picture of this piece in the book entitled Collectors Encyclopedia Of Milk Glass by Betty& Bill Newbound(page 136 if you have this book) They claim the pattern name of Flower Swirl. This is what I have found on this piece. This item is excellent condition with no chips. Cracks ... moreor nicks. No flea bites or roughness. No discoloration or graying to the glass. The spring top appears to be original. I can see some darkening to the plaster on the inside rim that holds the metal top on. This is not a fool proof way of determining if the top is original but as of now it's the best way I know how to make a safe opinion. The lid has some wear but not major. It is roughly 7 1/4" high to the top of the lid. The body of the syrup pitcher around the body is roughly 4 1/2" in diameter. The spring on the top is tight and works really well. In all it is a very nice, old syrup pitcher. Buyers with multiple purchases please wait for invoice to be sent out to you before making payment. Pitcher is 6” across at its widest part. 4" across the top opening and 7” from pitcher lip to handle edge. Not only are the stripes beautifully swirled around the body of the pitcher, but the Handle is Exquisite Aqua Glass with fluting and an exquisitely fanned out anchorage at the bottom of the handle. A wonderful color contrast to the body of the pitcher. It is such a Beautiful Color Combination. A Beautiful. Colorful, Eye-Catching Display Piece for your China Cabinet! An exquisitely beautiful display piece. Glass is beautiful and reflects light wonderfully. Is a gorgeous display piece. There is a 5” long winding crack goes from near the top handle anchorage. Runs next to the upper handle anchorage ... moreand then snakes along the side near the handle. This is hard to see unless you know it is there and cannot be seen at all if pitcher is displayed with handle turned to the side. This crack is not as visible as the photos make it seem. The photos were taken carefully with the right lighting and enhanced so you could see the crack. It is the flash at the right angle that makes it so visible. I am not trying to hide anything. I have had it in my cabinet for years and you could not see the crack at all. I had to stop family members from using it because it looks perfect and you do not notice the defect. This beautiful pitcher is for display only and cannot be used to pour liquids but would be a beautiful addition to your china cabinet or display shelves. Should go to a collector. Antique Pilgrim? Miniature Jug Pitcher Amberina Blown Glass Glows Under UV
This 5 1/4 inch tall jug is rich in character. Not really sharply 2 toned. But it is very light at the bottom, and quite dark at the top, with a clear crested rim. The crystal clear handle starts with a kind of up-shifted glob at the top, and flows beautifully down to a nice tucked-in curly glob at the bottom. The really unique thing about this piece is the"orange slice" design. With the lines coming from the bottom. And radiating up the sides, it looks like it was made from 10 wedges, like an orange. It also has a bit of a lip around the bottom rim. Never seen one like this before. Possibly pilgrim glass. UPDATE: Blacklight shows the bottom 1/2 glows an orangish color. Like vaseline glass, but not green. See 2 last pics. Condition is excellent! No chips. Cracks, scratches, or other damages. Packaged carefully. And shipped promptly ... moreafter payment is received. You are bidding on a beautiful and very unsual pitcher from an upscale CT estate. It is is encased in very intricately designed silver. I do not know the maker and I am hoping you experts will recognize it. It is unmarked but I am quite sure that the overlay or encasement is sterling. I polished the bottom but did not touch the rest as many collectors prefer the original patina. The glass is a gold color and does have a crack near the top and there is a tiny dent at the bottom edge. Good Luck on this unusual piece in very good condition.
