The glass etched hurricane shades are 7" tall and 3 3/4" across the top. With the shades placed in their base. The candlesticks measure a little under 9 3/4" tall. The sterling bases are marked"STERLING" DUCHIN CREATION" with the hand and"WEIGHTED" The sterling bases are in good condition. There are some very tiny dings in the sterling. Especially along the outside edge of the base. There is one longer ding that is about 1/4" long on the outside and more towards the bottom of one candlestick. There is some residue wax inside the candlesticks. One of the globes fits snugly inside its base and the other is slightly loose(so I'd be careful carrying the candlesticks around) The glass hurricane shades are in good condition. There are tiny flea bite chips along the bottom edge of both of the shades, though we think this is fairly typical of shades this age since the rough edge is sitting inside the candlestick. You won't see these tiny flea bites chips when the shades are placed within their holders. We are also listing a small sterling bowl this week from Gorham. It was during that time that the hand blown candle holders became popular. Not only were they decorative in nature but they also offered a higher degree of safety for either lit candles or burning wicks in small oil float lamps. DESCRIPTION This auction is for an antique Victorian fairy Christmas tree hand blown candle holder. This particular candle holder float lamp is made from turquoise blue milk class with the traditional quilted surface pattern adoring the circumference. The candle lamp was hand blown in a three piece mould; each side of the mold carries a notch for holding the handing wire. This candle holder does come with the hanging wire. I do not know if this is the original hanging wire. CONDITION In my opinion the overall condition of this antique float lamp is wonderful for its antique age. I did notice small areas of roughness surrounding the opening of the lamp due to past usage and being hand blown. The painted design is on a matte finish while the rest of the piece is a reflective silver. It has been in our family since the 1970s-80s. The painted design around the holder portion has faded with age and handling and some of the paint has worn off. Antique Crystal Candelabra EAPG Pressed Pattern Glass 3 Light/Arm Candle Holder
Absolutely beautiful three arm candelabra with tulip shaped glass candle holders. The body has a sunburst type pattern with large beading along the edges and a diamond point hobnail pattern. The brass has some tarnish and wear and the hardware is rusted. There are several raised areas to the edges of the large wax catchers. There is one small chip on the bottom/underside of one wax catcher on the edge of the opening where hardware is attached. The hardware on the arms is rusted shut and I will not attempt to remove the glass for fear of breaking. Antique Hand Blown Glass Candle Stick Holder This is an unusual candlestick. It's been in the family many generations- really not sure how far back it goes- at least to the early'20s and maybe way further. It has a rough feel to the top of the base and each spiral but is smooth underneath. I thought because of this rough feeling and yellow color it was vaseline glass. But after reading about vaseline glass I really can't say. Anyone out there know anything about this? The base measures 5-inches across and it is 3-inches in height. There are a number of air bubbles in the base. Right under the top lip on one side there is a 5/8-inch chip. Which you can see in one of the photos. It is 6.5cms high, 10cms long from the back of the handle to the front of the leaf. The glass holder is 3.5cms deep x 5cms diameter. Sitting on a(marked EPNS) hand made leaf base with a curved stem handle. It is quite unique and special. The glass holder is easily removed to enable the leaf base to be cleaned.
