Vintage glassblowing forming tool for glass bottles/ground glass joints? Antique
Up for auction is a vintage glassblowing forming tool. I believe the tool was made for forming the top lip on glass bottles. It is marked 19 38 F which sounds like a ground glass joint size but there is no taper on the interior graphite insert. The lack of taper is why I think it was used for bottles. It measures 13.75" long and 3.75" wide. The tool is used shows the wear expected given its age. There is wear to the graphite and the handle shows a bit of corrosion. Also. There is a crack in the handle near the back of the tool(shown in the last pic) Although this tool is no longer a functional, it is a nice piece of glassblowing history and would be a great addition to your collection. Up for bid. From the Estate of a renowned Pharmacist(my father) is this set of Two Glass Drug Store Bottles in a translucent light green/ aqua color, somewhat similar to clear Depression Glass. These are in good condition, dusty, no lids/ corks. On the bottom of the bottles it appears to say" EB& CL 1886" and"Rec. No. 70820" These are in good vintage condition, but will do well with a good cleaning. The only other place I have seen these is in Australia. FAB pair antique milk glass Art Deco Shampoo and Witch Hazel bottles
Amazing pair of milk glass bottles. Actually. They're not really milk glass, they're a slightly translucent gray/blue color. Definitely original Art Deco period. On first inspection, they look identical and they were clearly made by the same manufacturer, but they have ever so slightly different patterns. One says"shampoo" and the other says"witch hazel" They are large and heavy. Each measures 7.5 inches in height by 3.5 inches in width at the base. One is marked on the bottom(see photo# 5) They are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The word"witch hazel has some fading of the last few letters. The castor tray is marked only with a bell mark. There are no other marks on it. A jeweler friend tested it, he said it is silver But I have no idea it is 0.925 sterling silver or plated. It is extremely ornate with art nouveau designs. The tray has scalloped rim, 4 acanthus leaf feet. Rim has heart shape chase design. There are 4 thin& short bottles with 1.5” diameters. They are 5” tall to top of the rims. Only one has a stopper, other 3 are missing the stoppers. 2 of the bottles have ground rim, maybe they also had sterling silver caps. I don’t see any chips, cracks on the, One bottle has white cloudy residue at the bottom. It is an incredible period set. The castor holder measures 10 x 8” it is 11” tall. Lot of 7 Antique Glass Medicine Bottles - 100 Years Old or Older!!
This auction is for a Lot of 10 Antique Glass Medicine and Household Bottles that were used around 1850 to right before 1920. With all having some pretty bubbles. They make a great display or can be used for crafts. They measure 5 1/4" tall and have have very thick and wavy glass. They have been soaked over night and gently washed to check for cracks. And will come cleaner with soapy water and some small brushes. These bottles were dug. reclaimed! so may contain some minor scratches, chips, dirt, and cloudiness, which can be treated with baby oil, thin coat, inside and out. This process moisturizes the bottles and leaves a nice shine. Any leftover rust can be removed with very cheap toilet bowl cleaner. I am trying a new packaging process using recycled paper. Up for bids is a very old manicure set made by the Melba Mfg Co out of Chicago Illinois. This set has three glass bottles. Each one has a beautiful label. There is a milk glass jar of Melba nail whitener. It has a embossed lid and lovely label on front and back. It is nearly full. There is another milk glass jar that is shorter with the label that wraps all the way around. It has a embossed lid and is also nearly full. There is a glass bottle with a cork stopper and label. It reads Melba cuticle remover. No contents but the bottle is in good shape. There is a large buffer with a black handle. Also a box that reads Melba Cake. The box has a few issues. see pics) This all comes in the original worn out box. The box has had a long life as you can see.The jars and bottle have faired well. BEAUTIFUL ~~ LATE 19th OR EARLY 20th CENTURY ~~ PERFUME CASKET ~~ Take a look this wonderful Perfume Casket. It is made of crushed velvet covered box that has a beveled glass on each side. Showing off very pretty ornate glass perfume bottles. As you unlatch each side, the little bottle with stoppers are positioned in collars in the center on a platform. It is in great shape with reasonable wear to the velvet. No thread-bare areas and no rips or tears) The glass window on each side is in excellent shape. The bottles and stoppers are in great shape with no chips or cracks. As you remove the bottles the little collars that hold them, want to come out. No harm done, as they go right back into place. The overall height of the casket is 5" and 4 5/8" wide. 2 Antique 19thc RARE Daum Cut Glass Gilt Cologne Scent Perfume Vanity Bottles
The photos do not do these bottle justice! RARE 19thc. Daum cut glass cologne scent bottles. They looked like rock crystal. But I believe they are glass. Beautifully cut with patterns at the neck, top mid section with roses and ribbons, and at the base. Gold gilt is painted into the engraving. Both bottoms are in gilt(style of mark dates to 19thc, Daum- the Cross of Lorraine- Nancy. One is slightly taller and thick glass than the other. They measure roughly 10 1/2” including the stopper. Faceted on the neck and body. Photographing these was difficult. They were filled with sugar in order to photograph them without the pattern on the reverse showing through. Condition- Intact. No repairs. Wear to the gilt in the carvings. 1 bottle has a chip on the lip. Both stoppers have cracks in the bases of the stopper. No chips or cracks to the bases. ... moreOverall glass clarity is vg- excellent. there are a few spot in body and at the bottom that I couldn’t clean. My bottle brushes are long enough or thin enough to get in there; in other words. I do not know if the glass is stick in spots. I had a memory than these had an internal crack in the body of 1 of them. I can not find it! You will be purchasing this with the knowledge that there might be a 1/2” internal crack. Antique pair of Prussian heavy finely cut glass tea caddies with 830 silver tops and removable stoppers attached by chains. Believed to be made in Germany c. 1790-1810. The pieces have a cut glass design in a fine, 18th century style and have hexagonal 830 silver tops and removable round stoppers with pointed finials, that are attached by chains and can be removed at each end of the chain.
