ANTIQUE SCHWARZLOT DECORATED BLOWN FLIP GLASS W/PONTIL LARGE 18C GERMAN/DUTCH
This is a rare early blown clear"flip glass" with hand painted black enameling known as"Schwarzlot" decorated glass. This type of black sepia enamel decorated glass originated in Holland and Germany(Bohemia) in the 17th century. I believe this piece dates from the late 18th or early 19th century. But I am not a glass expert. it is over 100 years old at least. It came from a local estate and I have owned it myself for years. The glass is thicker at the bottom and becomes quite thin and delicate at the top. There are two bands of gold that show wear. There is a burst bubble in the inside top lip in the glass making, but no chips or damages. The scene depicts a Dutch windmill with two windmills in the distance, and a boat with figures inside on the water. There is a cottage with trees on the other side. There is a dog on ... morethe ground by the windmill. The glass is large, measuring 5 3/8" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter at the top lip. The bottom has a rough pontil mark, and there is a ring of wear around the bottom edge from age. Some very early pieces of Schwarzlot glass sell for tens of thousands of dollars at auction. You will be very pleased.

Oil or Kerosene Lamp Vintage or Antique with Eagle flip top burner. Having corrosion on the thumb wheel. Has very thick glass and Stands 10" tall overall. 6.25" wide at the base. Needs chimney and wick. The base appears to have a crack; however there is no crack in the glass, only a crack in the mold leaving a ridge line in the glass. The neck has a short very shallow crack that hardly goes into the glass. By putting a long object into the reservoir you can see that the crack is 1/4" away from the bottom of the reservoir. Just to be sure, I filled the reservoir with water, let it stand for two days, and there no leakage whatsoever. I then applied instant glue. No other damage. See photos, which are a part of the description. The majority of the items I sell are old so they will not be in perfect condition, unless I state it ... moreis perfect. Item will be insured. Offering a very nice pair of early 18th C. American hand made Stiegel type flip glasses with optic rib swirl design in a very nice honey amber seedy glass with some embedded debris as seen in the close up. They are both about 4-1/4" +- condition is as seen with one having minor flea bite on the rim as seen(about1/16" I did not attempt to clean them, they both have rough unfinished open pontil marks and no chips or cracks, I had a pair of these sold previously, buyer very happy(better than expected) and now have listed another pair, apparently they are very nice early hand made American glass. Sold as a pair as seen. I have a complete set of 8 I will be offering as pairs to give more collectors a chance to own a pair. 6 remain.
