Antique 11-inch ART NOUVEAU Glass and Metal EPERGNE
This antique ART NOUVEAU EPERGNE is 11-inches high and 7 1/2-inches at its widest. Both glass portions have swirling ribs that create shaped rims. In between the clear ribs there are patterns of small raised squares. The metal base is pierced with raised floral and leaf elements. This lovely epergne comes apart into three pieces. A superb rare Indian sterling silver epergne. It is unmarked but tests as high grade silver. It dates to c1890. It has been beautifully hand made being embossed and finely chased with geometric patterns and flowers. It has a broad base with a fluted central flower vase with three arms that hold smaller vases. Each can be removed. The cartouche is free from engravings and erasures. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The pieces of this fine antique sterling silver epergne/ centrepiece have an octagonal panelled form with a flared rim. Each vase has a pierced decorated rim. The supporting frame has a plain octagonal swept base with three stepped. Scrolling arms. The arms are ornamented with cast leaf decoration. The larger. Hallmarked central vase push fits neatly into the octagonal collar of the supporting frame where it is held securely with the assistance of the small foot at the base of the vase. Near the top is a crystal bowl. The top of the epergne is missing its center glass. Good antique condition overall. We have not polished the piece. It is in its original condition& has some tarnish. There are 2 spots on the base where the silver has worn off(see photos#9&10) Also there is a small rim chip on the crystal bowl(see photo#11) a small hole in the middle of the pedestal(see last photo) The piece stands 10-1/2" tall with a 6" base. RARE ANTIQUE EPERGNE CENTERPIECE WITH 6 FOOTED MIRRORED PLATEAU STAND 1800's
The absolutely beautiful silverplate epergne/centerpiece is in very good antique condition. Epergnes were frequently seen/used as formal table settings of high society. Antebellum homes in the South during the mid-late 1800's. We purchased the piece in 1990 in Natchez, MS. This very large epergne has amazing lion/dragon-like gargoyles mounted atop each of the three stand legs. Mounted 15" above the base is the 10 1/2" diameter cut glass circular tray originally used for various types of sweetmeats for diners to snack on. At the top is the 8" fluted cut glass vase used for decoration. While we could find no makers mark, the intricacy suggests it is of French design. There is a very fine numeral 8 and the numbers 4,5 and 6 on the bottom of the base that match up with numbers on the three gargoyles so that they are mounted ... moreproperly after cleaning. This is a very large, beautiful and dramatic piece weighing 6 lbs. and measuring: 10 1/2" per side of the triangular silverplate base x 15" to the top of the base, plus 8" for the vase on the top. Together with. And setting off, this handsome piece is the rare 19th century, six footed, beveled plateau mirrored table stand that reflects the epergne beautifully. The table stand has very unusual scolloped, beveled edges on the 13 1/2" round mirror. The table stand itself measures 15 1/2" across and it sits on six feet 2 1/2" high. Egyptian Epergne This wonderful old silverplate epergne is a perfect reflection of the Egyptian Revival movement of the late 19th century. Fine silver makers embraced the Egyptian craze. Creating highly decorative pieces with motifs inspired by the ancients, including pharaohs, sphinxes, and bird gods. This is a beautiful three-armed epergne with blue optical cut glass cups and detailed Cleopatra-like figural decorations. The center has a circular ledge which may have been added to replace a larger glass piece. It does provide a nice place for a pillar candle, but I'm just not sure it's original. It's easily removed, as shown in the first photographs. THREE PRETTY ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CRYSTAL BARLEY TWIST EPERGNE CANES Two yellow and one clear glass epergne cane. The yellow are each approximately 10 inches long and the clear is 12 1/2 inches long. The ferrel measures 18 mm on green canes and 10 mm on clear cane. On the clear glass it measures. Up for your consideration is a antique art nouveau style epergne vase. For it's age it is in good shape not perfect but good. It has a small chip close to the bottom that is an old chip because it is grey color close to the color of the paint so you really don't notice it. And on the top middle there are a couple tiny places where it is a little rough don't know if I should call it chipped,for it's age it is in good shape overall, I did take very good pictures of these 2 area's. This auction is for a beautiful vintage pink opalescent epergne! It is gorgeous and has great opalescence. It is well made and appears in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. I would guess this is from the early 1900's. But could possibly be older. It is a pale pink and in certain light appears a peachy-pink. photos were taken with and without flash) The bowl is oblong and has the great flaring points of opalescence! The vase fits into the base, but seems a bit loose- you could pad with stick-um or similar. The bowl is 15 inches across, 9 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches tall. You are bidding on a Victorian Antique Epergne vase. It is hand blown glass with a Cranberry glass and Opalescence color. It has has decorative rigree that is wrapped around each vase. It has the original brass fittings and stands 15 inches tall and the beautiful ruffled base measures 10 inches across. The piece is in good vintage condition with the middle vase missing. The other two are in very good condition with one having a small chip on the end flower petal. Please see picture nine and a flake chip under the ruffle see picture ten.Both are hard to find but found when running my fingers over edges.Some small bubbles in the glass from blowing. This is a very large Victorian figural silver plate centerpiece of a nude Greek mythology woman supporting a pedestal hand blown cranberry glass vase. It was made in the late 1800's. This is one of the finest figural pieces in my Aunt's collection. And it certainly gets all the attention when set on the center of a table. The figurine is delicate and beautifully made. Attention to detail by the fine craftsman of the time is clearly evident. The centerpiece is silver plate and has a lovely soft patina that comes from age. The three footed base is ornamental with Victorian motifs along the rim and ... moreedges. The fluted cranberry vase is seated in a section of the centerpiece that unscrews from the figurine for easy cleaning. This centerpiece is very large. Standing at 20 inches in height and the base is about eight inches from one foot to the other. Condition: Excellent. There are no broken pieces. The glass insert is perfect with no chips or cracks of any kind. The silver plate is covered with dust from sitting in a closet for years. It could use a polishing. Because of the patina I am unsure if the silver plate is uniform. But it looks pretty good. The centerpiece sits firmly on the table without any wobble, and the cranberry glass insert is well cemented into the holder. This auction is for a set of three antique late 19th Century early 20th Century ones. Victorian period blown glass flutes. In a clear glass with bright yellow and opalescent folded rims. They all come with the original metal collars for mounting and the original metal mount which attached to the base for holding the flutes. It also comes with the centerpiece screw in mount collar for the tall straight centerpiece flute. Though I do not have the center flute. They are all free ... moreform blown glass. This antique Vaseline glass ruffled edge vase with forest green glass edge is beautiful! The silver plate stand is marked A. Saunders. Sydney 8881, EPBM. It measures 12" x 4-1/2" on the glass top. The glass has no cracks or chips and is in good shape. It looks as though the end that fits into the silver plate stand has been cut to fit into the stand put I am not sure. This gorgeous Epergne was found in the attic of grandma's house. The color of the trumpet's is very rich and vibrant. This would make a terrific holiday centerpiece/ display, year around for that matter. This Epergne has a center Trumpet, 3 side trumpets, 2 glass candy cane shaped stems, and the mirrored base. This glass is hand blown. The detail and craftsmanship is terrific! ... morePlease view the pictures to see for yourself! There are some issues with this aged piece. First, there are supposed to be 3 candy cane shaped glass stems. There are only 2. I am assuming that over the years, the 3rd one met its demise. There is one of the glass stems that is adhered or stuck to the glass frog type base. I am not an antique glass or even a glass repair person and did not attempt to remove it, in fear of breaking it. The glass frog does have some chips to the base, but is still very much in working order. The trumpets are in excellent, pre-owned, condition. Over-all, considering its age, this Epergne is in terrific condition. The way this Epergne is designed you can position the missing stem at the rear, as in the pictures and most will not even notice that it is missing. The beauty of this piece draws the attention away form its issue. Picture this in your entry way, mantle, dinning room table, or where ever you decide to display it, especially with the holiday season coming soon. Pair Early Antique Brass Epergne Bases Or Candlestick Holders
This is a very good quality pair of early epergne bases or candlestick holders. I believe they date mid-19th century. The detail on them is just beautiful. Unfortunately. Both of the glass vase parts are missing. There are only the brass holders and a small piece of glass in each. If you have glass vases that fit, you're in! Otherwise, they'd make a classy looking pair of candlesticks. But I'm not sure how to get the glass out though. They each measure 5 inches tall(12.7 cm) The bases are approximately 5 inches wide(12.7 cm) based on where you measure from. The little glass holder inserts are 3/4 inches tall by 1/2 inch wide(1.9 cm x 1.27 cm) The design on these is just wonderful. The detail is so intricate. Overall. EPERGNE ANTIQUE MARIGOLD IRIDESCENT GLASS FLUTES J.B.C. & S.L. ENGLAND EPNS
This is a very beautiful antique very early 1900's marigold flute epergne in a J.B.C. S.L. electroplate nickel silver(E.P.N.S. made in England hard soldered base. The fluted glass has a lovely orange/gold iridescent colored glass tips that pick up a number of colors such as purple. Gold, yellow and others. The large center flute measure 8 3/4" the two outside flutes measure 6 3/4" I see no chips or cracks on any of the flutes. They have a lovely ribbed square look design. The base is a J.B.C. S.L. E.P.N.S. made in England(J.B. Chatterly& Son Limited 1896 mark on bottom dated 1908-1909. It has a lovely England shaped shield design. The base measures 10" tall and 10" long x 5" wide and is wonderful antique condition. This is a beautiful antique epergne.

It is in the cranberry glass with crystal applied ... morerigaree. The Epergne is in good condition, it has been well cared for and protected for 100+ years. I have inspected all the glass pieces and I find no chips, cracks or repairs. The piece includes the base bowl, center horn, four canes and 4 hanging baskets. It has brass fittings where each piece attaches to the center. The base bowl has a brass flower form holder which has 6 openings, I assume two pieces are missing, see photos. The brass fitter that is attached to the bowl has some old epoxy where the brass piece was applied to the bowl, I assume it was loose and someone put it on to hold it in place. I have looked at other similar epergnes and I am guessing it originally would have had either two vase horns or two canes in those openings. Up for your consideration is a Rare Antique Victorian Opalescent And green Epergne Flute Horn 11" long. The glass has some factory bubbles in it. The green tale of the piece of green that wraps around the horn may have been broken off or it might have been cut off there at the factory I'm not sure but I'm including a closeup picture so you can decide for yourself. Brass (4 horned) Antique Epergne (no reserve)
You are bidding on an unusual epergne. Being completely honest. I do not know much about this piece except that it is very old and beautiful(in my opinion) It appears to have once been gold plated brass but I am not sure. It measures one foot in height from the base to the top. It has 4"trumpet like" horns; one taller and the other three of the same height. They are all removable by unscrewing them. The piece is quite heavy(it weighs approximately 10 pounds- the weight will surprise you- so whatever it is made of is heavy! Antique Cut Glass Candelabra 2 Light Epergne Regency Style Metal Arms
Antique Cut Glass Two Light Regency Style Candelabra Epergne We are very pleased to offer a truly beautiful antique cut glass candelabra epergne. The 2-light piece is truly gorgeous with metal arms that extend from a central base and support two bobeches with candle cups. The central top piece serves as a flower vase and is also has a cut design as well. The cut glass prisms cascade from the rim of the vase down to the bobeches on both sides growing smaller in size as they reach the ends. We believe this piece may be around the 1920's but it may considerably older. We simply are not sure. The candle cups are fitted onto plastered corks that are embedded onto metal screws. I am not sure if this is standard construction or it was a repair, as I have not seen it before. The candelabra measures 15" tall and 12" wide from the edge ... moreof one bobeche to the other. The base measures 4 3/8" square. Given our uncertainty on age we have offered this item at a very reasonable opening bid and feel our Ebay buyers will set the final value. Condition: Overall good condition but does have a few minor issues. The left bobeche has a very small chip in one tooth and the right bobeche turns freely as it may simply need to be tightened. The central vase has some interior scratches towards the bottom half due to use and the bottom square base has some scratches. Mostly underneath, where it contacted a table surface as well as a very small chip on one corner. Two large prisms off the bobeche has been replaced and one is missing. There is a small flake on one dangle, a rough edge on one, and an inclusion in the edge of a smaller, round prism near the top(I have included pictures) There may be another fleabite or two I have missed but I checked the piece as closely as possible. Rare Antique Sterling Silver Epergne Charles Stuart Harris~George III
Important extremely rare English sterling epergne by Charles Stuart Harris. All original parts. All parts are stamped and match. The arms and center basket are detachable. The total weight is approx 2.809 grams. This is from a Lake Forest Illinois Estate. For serious inquiries I am happy to send photos or more detailed information. Here is some information on the Silversmith: This large business of manufacturing silversmiths. C.S. Harris& Sons Ltd, is said to have been commenced by John Mark Harris, a spoon maker, in 1817; he moved c. 1831 to 27 Nelson Street, City Road. It would appear that the firm was continued by John Robert Harris, probably J.M. Harris's son, who moved c.1842 to 29 Kirby Street, Hatton Garden where he is listed from 1843 until 1852 as a silver spoon and fork manufacturer. ITEM DESCRIPTION This auction is for a very beautiful antique silver plate epergne. A stunning naturalistic composition with eight removable flutes. Quite uncommon to get so many flutes. A carrying handle is cleverly incorporated into the design which is very very useful. Full makers marks to the underside. The registered design number to the underside tells us it was made between 1906& 1907. Measures 13 inches/32cm tall. No damage. A wonderful piece. Please scroll down for the i mages. This sweet piece is small and measures 2/3" x 1/3" It features black enamel on the front of the book locket with nicely detailed engraving on the back. This locket is hinged on the side and opens to a lock of hair on one side and blue enameling? on the other side. This locket is in Very Good Condition. There is some loss to the black enameling. Antique Victorian Stourbridge English Art Glass Epergne~ Mirror plateau base
Victorian Stourbridge English Art Glass Epergne~Scalloped Mirror plateau base. Large. Exquisite and Outstanding! ~*~. Offered for your consideration is a lovely Victorian-era Epergne. It is of blown Tulip shaped Trumpets with applied Deep Pink Pearl Opalescent threading on the clear crystal adorned with rigarre. It is not marked but is attributed to a British.Stourbridge glasshouse such as Thomas Webb, Stevens& Williams, H. G. Richardson from around 1890- 1910. The Epergne Condition is most excellent as noted by photos. The bottom of the three surrounding Trumpets is adorned with a beautiful clear glass prunt typical of British glasshouses. It sits. Via 4 nickel plated brass threaded attachments through a glass crystal base to a scalloped circular beveled cut mirror base, which is 1/4 of an inch thick. There is one of the three Tulip ... moreTrumpets which was repaired, many years ago and shows a longer sleeve as it sits in it’s glass encasement. However, all three Tulip Trumpets sit at the same height. The spectacular show of this epergne does not cause issue with this 60+ year old repair. The Glass scalloped mirror plateau shows a vintage shade of green and is most outstanding. Although the base underside appears to have been painted, you can clearly see the three 1/4 inch brass feet upon which this mirror plateau sit. Measures approximately 10 inches at base and stands 16 inches in height. The beveled Mirror base shows very minimal marks to plating commensurate with age to the mirror. Certainly. None to depreciate the glow and/or show of this Vintage piece of Victorian Glass.
