Pair(two) Handpainted Japanese Porcelain Flower-shaped Decorative Bowls(or dishes) Circa 1905 The dish is handpainted over white glazed china with traditional Japanese motifs of pink and white and blue chrysanthemum. Flowers and leaves. Three butterflies(two blue and one beige) circle the center of the dish. There are bright gilt painted accents throughout the piece. The paint is textured giving a slight raised effect in some areas. There are no markings of any kind on the bottom of the dish. 7.75 by 6.75 inches with clearly defined ridges marking the dish in quarters(please note- this is not a divided dish) and other raised ridges measuring 2 inches and 2.25 inches marking each flower petal. Dish one: has two pin holes(a depression the size of a pin hole. Not a through and through hole) in the glaze on the front, and has two small brownish ... moreblemishes in the glaze on the front. There is a pin hole mark in the glaze on the bottom and several teeny black specks in the glaze. Dish two: has several black specks in the glaze on the front and on the back of the dish. There is some rubbing to the paint over the raised ridges and to the unglazed raised ridge on the bottom of the dish. We noted a difference between the two dishes(please see our photographs. One of the maple leaves does not have the bright gold or gilt trim of the other. We know the provenance of these items which were donated to use from an estate where they have been in storage for several years. The family travelled to the Far East and Japan in 1905 and we believe these bowls may date from then. They also have some decorative similarity to the cup and saucer we have in another listing. They are off-white with black flowers and leaves. Each dish is 4 3/8" by 2 7/8" and 7/8" tall. The condition is very good with no chips or cracks. There are a few glaze pops(see photos) Even though these do not have the Ashworth mark, they do have the printed number 10(and 2) to mark the pattern and the pattern is identical to one that I currently have listed, which is a matching brown transferware platter or tray. 6 Antique Handpainted Fruit Porcelain Dishes 4 3/4" PEACH PLUM PEAR Gold Leaf
Up for sale is an antique hand painted set of six dishes. Shallow dessert cups 4 3/4"recently found at an estate sale in the Philadelphia PA area. This hand painted set is beautiful and would be nice displayed in a glass breakfront. The edge colors all vary and the various fruit designs differ and are expertly painted. They are all found in very good used condition with the typical condition issue with these aged pieces of the loss to the gold lines. But again, gold loss is very typical of pieces of this age. There is a makers mark on the back of each(photo 10) with a capital C.T. underneath; these were found with KPM plates of similar craftsmanship and design but the marks are different and these may pre date the KPM(Royal Porcelain Factory) but we are not porcelain experts by any means. Nice floral design set of 2 Edwin M. Knowles China Co. December of 1933 1. Cream or gravy dish 2 1/4" x 5 1/2" floral with gold trim(unmarke d bottom/but identical design as bowl) 2. Bowl 2 1/4" x 6" floral design with gold trim(bottom is marked& shown in picture) bowl has a lot of crazing. Creamer does not have much though. No chips or cracks that I have noticed. 5 Pieces Antique TST China Bride's Bouquet Discontinued 1950 Dishes Dinnerware
This listing is for five pieces of early 20th Century china. This china was made by Taylor. Smith& Taylor in Chester, West Virginia. All five pieces are in good condition and are very beautiful. The china is bright and shiny. This pattern has pink, gray, and purple flowers on white china. There is gold trim. The underside of the lids are marked with the pattern number of 07077. The pieces all have the TST Verona logo on the bottom. There is one tiny chip on the spout of the pitcher. You really have to look to see it. I see no other cracks or chips. There is crazing on all pieces, but it is not highly visible. The undersides of the lids and the lips of the dishes have no chips. These are not new dishes, so don't expect factory pristine. Up for offer is a partial 9pc German porcelain child's tea set. No saucers. The 4.75"H pot. 2.5" H sugar bowl and 3 of the 2.5"H cups have a charming decal of a little boy along side a large white poodle carrying a basket in it's mouth. The 2.5"H creamer and one cup(same porcelain pattern) have a decal of a little girl feeding pidgeons from her apron. The finial of the sugar pot has broken off and is lost and three of the cups have a small chip on the underside of the base. All other pieces are in good condition. No other chips. No cracks. The gold has worn and on one of the cups and the sugar bowl(with the poodle decal) there is a blue line on the left side of the decal. Set 3 Antique Porcelain China Victorian Handpainted Fluted Bowls Spectacular set of three intricately handpainted fluted. Footed bowls, one large one and two small matching ones. All three pieces of the set are painted in the extremely popular roses pattern of the late Victorian years, elaborated detailed in gold gilt. The large piece measures 5 ½-inches across and stands 3-inches high and the two small pieces stand 3-inches across by 1 ½-inches tall. The two smaller fluted bowls are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The large bowl has a clumsily repaired leg– please see photo. I didn't find a maker mark on the dishes or tray, the spoons are marked Nickel Silver with a mark that looks like a mountain. The spoons are 5" long, the dishes are 2 3/4" high and 3 5/8" wide at the top, the tray is 13 3/4" wide. Antique Covered Salt or Sauce Dishes, Rare China? Japan?
This is a pair of unusual covered tiny bowls; presumably either salt dishes or sauce dishes. Each is 1 1/2 inches wide and 3/4 inch tall. Each is entirely hand-painted. But without signatures. The condition of each bowl and lid is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, repairs or losses of paint. The gold accent around the lid has worn away a bit due to being handled in a normal fashion over the years. We believe they are from the early to mid-19th century, but cannot be certain if they are from China or Japan.

Jam, Pickle or Sauce Dishes dated 1907 Each Dish measures approximately 3 5/ 8 inches or 9 2 mm across its width from side to side by just over 4 inches or 1 0 3 mm across its length from back to front and it stands 1 inch or 26 mm tall to the top of its rim. Both dishes are made sterling silver and each one is in a delightful novelty stylized scallop shell like shape that has been raised relief decorated to give the dish its shell like definition and it stands on three ball shaped feet. The dishes have Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below and the underside of each dish has been impressed with matching full set of English sterling silver hallmarks that read as follows, W B Ld- Anchor- Lion Passant- h W B Ld is the silversmith ... moreor makers mark of Williams of Birmingham Ltd whose mark id recorded as being used from 1902 to 1929. The Anchor is the mark of the Birmingham assay office, the Lion Passant is the mark of English 925 standard sterling silver and the letter h is the date letter for 19 07. The condition is used and Excellent for their age. The Dishes have No Large Dents. No Splits, No Cracks, No Holes and No Repairs that I can find, both dishes stand straight, the definition and decoration is very crisp, both dishes hold liquid without leaking. The silver hallmarks are slightly rubbed or worn but still legible although as this pair of dishes are used antiques they do have some small shallow dents in their bodies and rims along with some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use. They have the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss. Personally I think that this pair of antique novelty shell shape dishes can still be used today on a dining table for butter, sauces, pickles or jams and that they would make a superb addition to any cabinet collection, I also think that they look fantastic considering that they are almost 1 1 0 years old.
