A friend of mine inherited an 1860s farmhouse and its contents. Which has been closed up for the last 20 years. Originally belonging to Lucile Johnson(pictured) is this antique signed Harmony Boston Glass Decorative Perfume or Cologne Bottle with label. This is one of several antique Perfume Bottles I have listed. This scent is New England Wood Violet. Excellent condition; no chips or cracks. Measures approx. 9" tall. Outside of Blissfield, MI, is considered one of the oldest surviving private residences left in the state. This house was home to three generations of families, with Lucile Johnson being the last member of the family who finally passed away in 1995 at age 95. Lucile, her mother, and grandparents lived together ... morein the house until they died, and never threw anything away. As a result. The house is jam-packed with an incredible amount of unusual primitive items. Lucile was an historian of sorts, and left notes behind with many items, which I will include with the listings as I find them. There will also be many horse-related items as Lucile was an avid horse lover and raised horses on her farm for years, as well as collecting many wonderful horse-related items as well. My friend Sue became acquainted with Lucile through their mutual love of horses, and as Lucile had no children, she eventually became attached to Sue and referred to her as her"grandchild" Lucile and Sue together groomed and showed horses at Michigan State University for many years. Sue subsequently cared for Lucile in her declining years, and for her unending loyalty, Sue was bequeathed upon Lucile's death her entire estate. Since 1995 the house has been closed up, but Sue has decided to pass Lucile's things on for others to enjoy. I am committed to helping Sue liquidate Lucile's estate over the course of the summer.

Cologne Bottle Antique vintage German Compagnie Duval Imported to New York rare
I have never found anything quite like this bottle before. It is a German Cologne Bottle that has been imported to New York.specifically 32 Cliff St in New York according to the label. It is from the Compagnie Duval Company.it says Trademark on the label. There are two separate labels. Both on the front of the bottle. I do not see any chips or cracks but there are air bubbles in the glass! The bottom of the bottle is stamped with the# 2440. The top of the bottle looks like an old medicine bottle that would of probably had a glass topper. The label also reads. Essential Oils. Very rare and hard to find 1940's Woodland Spice Bouquet Eau De Cologne 4 oz. bottle. Made by Old South Perfumers. Batavia, Illinois to look like a little jug. No contents, but still has a light spicy scent. In excellent vintage condition. Measures approx. 5 1/4" tall. A little background history as to why it's rare: Tuesday. December 31, 2013 In the 1930's and into the 1940's. A fascination with all things early American were showing up in various forms, from reproduction maple furniture to hand blown glassware, and perfume companies jumped on the bandwagon eager to take in the benefit of the fads. Old South of Batavia. Illinois, a subsidiary of Campana Sales, came out with a line of toiletries in 1940, inspired by the plantations of Williamsburg, Virginia. The perfumes were based on old fashioned favorites from the ... moreColonial era. The tag line was"Romance.Southern Style" The toiletry line consisted of cologne. Toilet water, perfume, soaps, sachets, bubble bath, rose jars(potpourri) bath salts, talcum and bath powders. They were wrapped in exquisitely fine containers that were reminiscent of the culture that belonged to Williamsburg. The perfumes came in charming hobnail bottles that they advertised may have graced the table of a Colonial lady. The bubble bath essences came in crystal styled bottles. The soap and sachets were wrapped in paper printed with the pinkest roses and the talcum and bath powders came in lovely containers delicately decorated with frail ladies in pink and blue gowns. These items were packaged in lovely gift boxes. For instance. There's The Plantation Box which contained a hobnail bottle of toilet water and a round container of dusting powder. Both came on a bed of shredded pink paper in an eight cornered box that may be used later to hold jewelry. The Virginia Reel Trio gift box held three cologne decanter jugs of Plantation Garden. This is a rather large antique/vintage( early 20th century cologne bottle with a glass stopper. The bottle is decorated with simple six petal flowers that are cut into the glass with a flowing stem…one on front and one on back. The stopper is glass and while it looks"squashed" abit. It has an optic quality to it. the top of the bottle also has this quality. At the bottom, three circular rings are cut into the bottle. The bottle is marked on the bottom with a sixteen ray star. Several years ago. I did some research on a similar marking and found the item had been made by Ideal Glass Co. of NY(1908-1933)where the star is the same. There seems to be a very small manufactures defect on the very edge of the base. There is also a small manufacturer defect around the top rim. Slightly uneven textures. Unable to capture a picture of these defects. There are too small. Floral design with two big flowers on each side. With very intricate lines throughout the roses. Very old bottle of Charles of the Ritz Cologne Roses. I am not sure the age. Haven't been able to find out any other comparisons on the computer. I think it is pretty rare. The glass itself is in good condition, no chips or cracks. There is no stopper for it and part of the cork is still inside the opening. The shape of the bottle is beautiful and the design is so French and adorable. White with little pink rosebuds. Some of the lettering is worn. See all photo's. It measures 6.25" tall. Vintage Antique Cut Glass Cologne Perfume Bottle Cut Tear Drop Stopper 6" tall

This is a very nice full cut 1880's cologne or perfume bottle. It measures 6" tall and 2.25" across the body. It has a cut and polished bottom and flat cut sides. The stopper is a rare tear drop stopper it has an inclosed air bubble inside the cut knob. The only damage are several tiny bottom edge chips to the end of the stopper not visible when the stopper is in place. It is marked E.S.H. on the top. the box is lined with red leather and has 4 compartments. there are three beautiful glass bottles which sit perfectly in the box. it is missing one bottle. they have bronze threaded necks and bronze lids with thick hand laid enamel around the side and top of the caps. they are done with nice vibrant color and have cork linings. the bottles come with glass stoppers. The bottom two are powder horn figurals. I have seen both with strings to hold the horn. They date to the 1880-1910 period. The design was intended to imitate the fancy and early pressed glass designs or the similar cut glass glass designs. Antique Bottle Straight-Flared Finish Lip - Pre 1900s Cologne Extract Perfume
Blown-Mold Bottle ca. mid 1800s+ This thick glass 4⅜” tall 2oz volume bottle is a bit of a fun puzzle. Mold-blown with mold marks fading on the slightly flared straight finish and extending into the base edges(if you hold it in the light just right. The lip has not been ground and is uneven and fire polished. The body and neck have several unevenly distributed bubbles. The interior volume is an uneven hour-glass shape that flares wider towards the top. It seems a bit tall for an ink bottle. If it’s use had been for medicine/food/volatiles. I’d have expected a better finish and closure and not nearly as much glass for the volume. Cologne or Perfume is my best guess. Condition: It’s old but has very little scuff. There are no scratches. Chips, bruises, cracks, dings, pings or pitting. A few light interior stains.
