This is a an absolutely stunning squat Black Glass Antique Beer Bottle Circa 1820-40 dug in New Orleans. This one is stands 8 3/4" tall and has a base diameter of 2 3/4" This one is blown in a wooden mold as evident by the chipping effect on the glass when held up to the light. The top of course is an applied top typical for this period in great shape. There is an iron ball pontil mark on the bottom. This bottle is absolutely perfect no chips or cracks. This is a stunning dark green Bottle that unless held in the light looks black. This bottle when held to the light shows some bubbles in the glass as well as the beautiful effects of the glass being blown into a wood mold. The pictures of this bottle really don't do it justice. Don't know if they are original to the thermos but they were with it when I found it. Exceptional antique English black glass wine bottle circa 1800
We are listing this truly exceptional antique English black glass wine bottle from the late 1700s or early 1800s. As usual the color is actually a very deep green. And the only flaws are tiny flakes inside the lip. The color is great, the glass has plenty of bubbles,etc. there is a double applied lip, a rolled in base, and a great sand pontil kick up. The bottle is 11 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. A truly exceptional antique bottle that is over 200 years old. We can currently only accept bids on this from the United States. Here you are bidding on a very rare BLACK BEAR Seltzer bottle with wonderful etched Black Bear logo on a Green Glass Bottle. Thick Green glass has 12 flat vertical panels in the middle section and it tapers inward towards the middle. Etched on the glass is CUDAHY. WIS. CONTENTS 26 FL. OZ. 1830 ENGLISH BEER BOTTLE Brown Black SAND PONTIL Authentic ANTIQUE GLASS Early
Up for auction is what appears to be an early 19th century English beer bottle. Measuring 9" high, about 2-1/2" in diameter at the base. The bottle has what I believe to be a sand pontil base, with abrasive feel to glass inside. A brown bottle. That weighs 1 pounds, 1 ounces. This bottle was found at a recent Brooklyn estate sale where the former owner collected antiquities. Stretching as far back as 4000 B.C. The collection was especially strong in ancient Greece and Rome, Revolutionary War, and Civil War objects and books. The bottle has a handwritten and yellowed label. Which reads"English/ Beer/ 1830-1840/ $30.00" While I am not an expert on bottles, from what I can discern from my research, these dates of creation appear reasonable. The label is taped on with old Scotch tape, but is easily removable without residue ... morebeing left behind. Some surface wear to glass. I.e. grooves, scratches, etc, but no cracks. This antique primitive black glass onion wine bottle is Dutch. Early 18th century, circa 1700-1730. Even though they call these bottles black glass, the color is actually a warm, dark olive green. It has a nice bulbous form, and a wonderful kicked-up base with a pontil scar. The neck tapers beautifully, with an applied overlapping string rim. The bottle measures ~7.5" high x 5.5" wide at the widest point. Although there are some scratches from age and use. The bottle is in good condition overall. This is a beautiful dark olive(black) beer/ale bottle that is in excellent condition. it was manufactured between 1916 and 1930. Of very heavy glass. When the light hits the side of it just right, you can see the green. Otherwise no light shines through it. It measures 9 3/4 inches tall by 2 5/8 inches wide. There are no chips or cracks in this bottle. To try and show how dark this bottle is, the second to last photo has a programmable flash at full power behind the base. I have come across a nice ACL THISTLE pattern bottle with a floral design that is cut into it. The bottle was made by an unknown Glass Company in around the 40's. The Bottle itself is in great shape. Please look at the photographs as the show the true condition of this bottle. As they are also part of my description. This bottle stands 9 1/2 inches tall with the stopper and has the diameter of 3 3/4 inches wide. It weighs over 2 and a half pounds! Not sure if the stopper is original to the bottle. But it fits like it would be! I see no issues. Cracks, flaws or flakes off of this piece.
