Others have been purpled with the use of strong UV lights in a box…and some have been purpled by a process called“irradiation” which is a safe and permanent process which does the same thing as many years of exposure to natural sunlight, except much faster. This listing is for a FENTON CARNIVAL GLASS COMPOTE CANDY DISH or BOWL. Fenton signed. I believe it is amethyst. The pattern is deeply embossed. There are three pinwheel/like patterns on the bowl of the dish. That looks very similar to the bottom of the dish. but is more richly embossed. There are 3 smaller medalions between the three larger ones. Above the medallions are some deeply. Carved flowers and diamond designs. The lip of the dish is scallop-like and richly colored. Today for auction we have a nice set. Black amethyst glass, flat bottom cream and sugar. These two pieces are stunning and in very nice condition, found no chips or cracks to either. The inside of the creamer has some inside staining, may come clean with cleaning. These were found at an estate sale and both need a gentle cleaning. There are no markings on these 2 pieces. Both the cream and sugar have a lovely design. The tops have a wave type pattern on top. The creamer measures approx 3" tall and 4 3/4" from lip to end of handle, the sugar measures approx 2 1/2" tall and 5" across handle to handle. Cracks, or scratches, however its older carnival glass with imperfections such as straw marks, air bubbles, tooling marks, mold pull deformities all common in turn of the century carnival glass, these imperfection dont affect value and are re-assurance that these are in fact turn of the century glass. WOW. This is stunning antique carnival glass cigerette holder that doubles as an ashtray.in amethyst colors and silver around the outside. This is a very unique and rare piece that shows the exquiste beauty of carnival glass. The bottom portion is the cigerette holder and the top is first a cover when not in use and when smoking just turn over the cover and there's your ashtray. Although, as beautiful as this piece is I certainly wouldn't die a cigerette out in the ashtray portion. So you have two pieces top and bottom, the box measures 2 1/4" tall and 4" long. Antique Northwood Carnival Glass Amethyst Fine Rib Vase with stunning electric iridization. The pictures just dont do it justice. This vase is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches, however this is turn of the century carnival glass with the normal imperfections. This vase measures 3 and 3/8 inches in diameter at the base, and stands 10.5 inches tall at its tallest point. Marked on the bottom with the Northwood mark. Folks I had the oppertunity to attend an auction in central Mo. on 1/7/12 which had over 400 pieces of carnival glass that was the lifetime collection of Alan and Lorraine Pickup, and that was just half, next half in Feb. This piece is from that auction, most every piece I bought and every piece at the auction had exceptional color, and first class in quality.

I'm not sure of the pattern name. But I guarantee this piece is authentic and from the 1800s. For your consideration we have this beautiful old amethyst glass sugar shaker! A really unique piece with a silver overlay floral design. It is in really good condition. Inside the cap at the top rim there are some small chips& flea bites but the cap covers these when displayed(please see pictures) Also some wear to the silver overlay and plated screw cap. Unknown maker but looks like Beaumont or Hobbs. The shaker stands about 4 7/8" inches tall and about 2 7/8" inches accross the widest point near the base. Nice set of 6 old Northwood punch cups in grape and cable pattern. Each is marked with N in a circle. The coloring is hard to describe with 4 almost orange when looking through the glass and the other two almost ruby. However. The bottoms all look like amethyst. There is slight wear. One cup has a spot as large as a sesame seed on the rim where the iridescence is rough, but the glass is fine. One cup has a rim chip as large as a poppy seed and another has a similar sized chip as well as a hairline crack. Of the six, four are almost perfect. Fresh from a local WNY Estate These are a fabulous pair of nineteenth century amethyst cut glass vases/urns feature ormolu bronze mounts including Bacchus themed Greek masks. Handles, a gagrooned rim, and pedestals with scalloped corners and laurel wreaths. They are likely of Russian or French origin. Each is in excellent condition. This is an old antique medium purple milk glass lightning rod ball. It measures 4 1/2" across and the rod hole is 1" It is in great condition with no cracks or breaks. Has very faded silver bands around saucer. The silver band around the cup is mostly gone. Saucer is in very good condition. No chips or cracks. Cup has a small chip on the upper part of the foot. Five Old Antique Hand Blown Amethyst Cut Glass Epergne Centrepiece Trumpet Vases Here's five amethyst glass Epergne trumpets originally from an Epergne centrepiece. Four of the hand blown glass trumpets measure 13.5 cms long and one measures 15.5 cms long. The trumpets measure 10 cms across the top for the smaller ones and 12 cms across the top for the larger one. The four smaller trumpets each have hand cut engravings of flowers on them. The trumpet vases are all in fine undamaged condition with no chips or cracks. The larger trumpet has a rough finish on the base where it's been snipped off from the blowers glass rod as pictured.

This lovely amethyst vase has a great shape and color. Two seams and many bubbles in the glass. It was blown into a two-piece mold and not pressed. The vase has very thick glass, especially in the neck area. This piece dates to the 1870s. It measures 5 1/2"14 cm) in height, 4 3/4"12.1 cm) in diameter at the base and is 2 3/4"7 cm) in diameter at the mouth or top. The top is made by the early fairy lights and has and expanded rounded rim that is 1/4"0.6 cm) below the vertically straight upper rim. It also has a ground glass top white the fairy lights and there is a barely visible pontil mark on the bottom that is been smoothed over and expanded to form a slightly concave base with a wide edge for the vase to rest on. There is a lots of where a parent on the edge of the base, which you want to see in a piece of this age. ... moreThis vase is purchased in an antique shop in England in 1950 by the dealer I purchased it from. It is in great condition, with no nicks, cracks or any other form of breakage. Along the upper edge that has been ground, there are three tiny shallow areas, but they are smooth.
