I think a shade or lamp pull, with 3 glass beads on end of long ecru twisted silk cord. The doubled cord, folded at top and attached to top of bead is 15" long. At the top of the bead drop there is a clear faceted oval topaz glass bead that is 5/8" Below this is a round 1/4" black glass bead, and below this bead is large amber glass teardrop. This amber teardrop has brass filigree cap on top and a pressed lattice design around the bottom. It is 1-7/8" high and the entire 3-bead drop is 3-1/2" in total. Antique African? Euro? 3 unique Trade Beads Glass - Yellow Amber - Bottle Glass
Antique African? or European Trade beads? The story: I found these(among other things) recently at an outdoor antique market in Italy. Two young african fellas had a table of wood carvings and a wooden bowl with random loose beads. Some big some small. I picked out several interesting and what looked to be old ones to purchase which I have now listed on ebay. I am not really sure what they are and when I asked this young man where they were from he said in limited english" Mali. Broken" So I am guessing that the beads where from random broken necklaces? Not sure? About me: I am not a bead expert or jewellery expert. I just like to buy old vintage beads& necklaces and restring them with(Italian) silver to make new current pieces. Its just a hobby but over the years I have acquired an eye for old interesting things. I do not however ... moredismantle intact antique necklaces/pieces that cannot be replaced unless they are in really bad shape. I do not usually come across beads like these and would not typically use them in the pieces I make. They looked so interesting I thought I would bring them home and see if they were of interest to collectors. About these beads: hopefully the pictures can tell most of the story however if you need more pictures I am happy to send them along. The amber one. I am not sure if this is real amber or some other composite? The clear glass bead has a very light greenish hue and is roughly formed. It is likely a old bottle glass bead. The blue and red bead is also glass. As best as I can tell the red and white design is actually glass as well but it may be enameled paint. It does not scratch off. Antique Silver Banded Amber Glass Lemonade Pitcher & Tumbler Set
Up for bid is an antique silver banded amber glass pitcher& tumbler set. I am not sure of the exact age. But it is very old, as referenced by the attached photos and shows expected signs of wear from age. I noted one manufacturing bubble in the pitcher and thinness on one side of the bottom from where it was lifted while being made. There is a small chip at the foot near this thin area. The silver banding on many of the tumblers has worn away. Otherwise this set is in very good condition for it's age. The pitcher stands 8" tall and is 7" at it's widest from handle to spout. The back side has"None Better" It is in great condition, it does have a bit of a chip on the lip but you feel it more than see it. It is 3 3/4 inches tall and 1 1/4 inches across the bottom and about 3/4 of inch thick. Over all a really good looking bottle that they just don't make anymore. Antique PS Co Rhodium Gold Plated Filigree Amber Glass Necklace Bracelet Set
Presented is a gorgeous early Art Deco era PS Co. necklace and bangle bracelet set. This set features two tone rhodium and gold plated filigree metal. It has vibrant faceted amber glass stones. There are gold tone leaf embellishments on the filigree metal of both pieces. The necklace has tiny seed pearls surrounding the glass stone. My guess is that they are not genuine pearls. But I am not certain. The hinged clamper bangle bracelet has a paper clip safety chain attached. It is marked PS Co. on the clasp of the necklace. The bracelet is not marked. But it is clearly a matching set. PS Co. stands for the Plainville Stock Company. According to the Plainville Tercentenary booklet published in 1930 by the Board of Trade. As noted on page 36, The Plainville Stock Company was originally established in 1872 as G. Demarest& Co. manufacturers ... moreof jewelry. In 1874, two of the original founders withdrew from the company and the name was changed to Plainville Stock Company. The necklace measures 15" long from end to end(including clasp) The bracelet measures a total of 7" long(the interior length around) It is 2.5" from hinge to opening and.75" wide. This set is in excellent condition for it's age. It looks as if it were rarely worn. On both pieces. The metal has no significant wear. There is a some dulling to the finish on the back of some of the gold tone links on the necklace. There is a small amount of finish loss on the interior wall of the bracelet. This is truly very minimal. The glass stones have no chips. The clasps and hinges are tight and secure. It is very rare to find an antique set in this beautiful of condition. A scarce antique set! I purchased this beautiful light ficture over thirty years ago and hung it in an old style American kitchen in my home in New York City. When we sold our house. About seven years ago, we took it with us to use in our new home. Alas there was no place to hang it. As our new home has high ceilings and built in lighting. It has taken me a few years to bring myself to part with this beautiful antique light fixture. But I would like it to be used and enjoyed and not sit in a box. This is an antique amber apothecary jar from the early 1900s. It is blown amber glass and has a smoothly ground stopper that fits snugly. It has a painted label on the bottle that reads"01. Terebinth" Below the label is an orange sticker that reads"Minder giftig" Terebinth resin was used as an antiseptic. Antispasmodic, and expectorant. The bottle has some residue inside.
