Beautiful Vintage trifid foot liquor cabinet. Made of quartersawm and oak wood. Trifid or Drake foot vintage furniture with the cabriole leg are characteristics of 18th century design. Mostly appears in Queen Ann-style,and Chippendale-style. American cabinet makers from Newport and Rhode Island also used this style in 1900 late Victorian era. Though I am not an expert, this is what I have found in researching this item. Both drawers, Bottom storage compartment, and both side curio doors have a script design key fixture with usable locks except for the top drawer does not lock. The top surface of the cabinet has a candle burn mark in the center(please see pictures for visual details) The lock and surface burn both look to be very fixable. This is a great vintage piece. Beautiful extra large antique wood cupboard- multiple uses- was originally used in a camp chapel- the top cupboard held the communion wine and supplies. The bottom drawers held the altar linens, etc. There is still an outline on the very top where there was a cross hanging on the wood. Recently used in a dining room to hold china, tablecloths, platters, and liquor. Really unique piece. The drawers are very shallow, so would be perfect to hold maps, architectual drawing, art work, etc. Also has 2 larger drawers toward the bottom. The top has many drawers in addition to the small cupboard, plus 2 shelves to use for display. There is also a lot of space between the bottom and the top for storage and/or display or to use as a work space. The piece is in 2 parts, which makes it easier to move. Stunning Gaylord Brothers 4 Drawer Oak Library Card Catalog. This piece is in excellent condition and is a great example of American craftsmanship beckoning back to when products were built to last. Please review photos for condition. Overall in near mint condition. There are a few marks on the top and side but this piece. This is one of the nicest card catalogs I’ve ever come across. I believe this to be Oak(possibly tiger) wood with dovetail construction on the box and on the drawers. Pulls and label holders are brass and there is a small brass manufacturers tag on the front. Center bottom. Box measures: 13 ¾ in wide X 17 in long X 9 ¼ in tall Drawers measure: 5 5/8 in. wide X 3 7/8 in. tall. All mechanisms are in place. Brass rods and backer slides. Very heavy.
