A Great Antique Shaw Walker 4 drawer wooden filing cabinet. It has the dovetail joints and the"Shaw Walker" name on the top. One drawer has the metal card holder. The other 3 do not. Please see pictures) There are two slight cracks in the bottom of two drawers. It does have wear consistent with it's age. There are knicks. Marks, dings, finish loss, a crack here or there, and the one side does have a black substance(looks to be old glue from some type of label) on it, as seen in the picture. The pulls are wooden with a screw in the center. The pulls appear to be old cut wood thread spools, 2 are from the old Berksire& Beckett Silk Co, one has some type of"Clark" label worn off& the 4th is unmarked. There is one round hole underneath the the pull of both the top& bottom right drawers. I also had a question ... moreabout the stain on the bottom, I am not sure if it is oil or water. I confess. I don't know a whole lot about this piece. I found it an an old flea market in the middle of the Missouri Ozarks. I have researched and researched it have only discovered the following info. The design is called Gold Leaf Lacquer. It has beautiful motifs of white roses and birds. I believe it is what was called a"Shoe Cabinet" or a"Foyer Cabinet" and was naturally intended for storing shoes in. I can't find any artist or designer marks. I don't know if it is Chinese or Japanese but I am fairly certain it is one or the other. It hast has that wonderful Asian flair about it! It stands at approximately 30" tall. It is approximately 23-1/4" wide. It is approximately 11-1/4" deep. It looks to be modeled after some Asian Dynasty but I have no idea for sure or if it is a reproduction or an ... moreoriginal. This piece is in good useable condition with normal wear. There are brass towel racks on each side which are hard to see in the picture. Dimensions are 33 1/2 inches wide. 15 1/2 inches deep, 39 inches high at the highest point on the back. Top surface is inlaid with an ornamental tile- which I am unsure if it is original to the piece. I don't know much about this except that my mother purchased it at an auction near Stroudsburgh, PA. This is a beautiful handmade corner shelving unit which is really beautiful. I purchased it at an estate sale. So I am not sure of it's age, but I do believe this is very old. I remember my Grandmother had one in her living room, with little bird figurines on it. There is fluting in the wood on the top of the cupboard and on the inside there are 2 scalloped edge shelves. I don't know much about this piece it measures 6 foot x 37 inches x 18 inches at widest edge. I've owned this cabinet for 20 years and only need to sell because I'm down sizing and this cabinet is to large for my next house. I believe the wood is cherry. The cabinet has four doors on the front. Two of the door have a wire see through front and the inside back wall is mirrors. These doors need a little repair but nothing is missing. The outside of the cabinet has some scratches and the top need to be refinished. In the inside is three removable shelves the top shelf pulls out and has holds to hold glasses and the center is a glass mirror and the back section that pulls out is mirrored. This auction is for a China Cabinet that was given to us by my cousin. She said it was old but she didn't know much about it. I couldn't find any markings or any way to identify it but it definitely looks old. It has two removable shelves held up by dowels. All sides are made of wood. The bad parts: Two spots on the glass have tiny chips. Water marks on the top, cracks on the back wood and the bottom shelf and the bottom part of on of the sides is missing something. Beautiful Vintage trifid foot liquor cabinet. Made of quartersawm and oak wood. Trifid or Drake foot vintage furniture with the cabriole leg are characteristics of 18th century design. Mostly appears in Queen Ann-style,and Chippendale-style. American cabinet makers from Newport and Rhode Island also used this style in 1900 late Victorian era. Though I am not an expert, this is what I have found in researching this item. Both drawers, Bottom storage compartment, and both side curio doors have a script design key fixture with usable locks except for the top drawer does not lock. Antique Solid Wood Step Back Cupboard with Wavy Glass and Fold Out / 3 Drawer
You are viewing an original 2 piece hard wood antique step back cupboard. It has two wavy glass doors with three shelves for china. It has eight small cubby holes at the bottom for letters. Etc. there are four nice drawers above these with original pulls. One pull is missing. There are three dove tailed drawers on the bottom. the top one being the smallest. They have original wooden knobs. There is a charming fold out piece with pull out support under the doors for writing. The left door is missing a piece of hardware/latch. They do have a key hole as do the drawers. But are missing the key. There is a small area on one side where a sliver of wood has been regaled. It measures approximately six inches by one inch. a true craftsman could more than likely make it invisible. There is normal wear reflecting it's age, but no other areas of ... moreproblems. The cabinet measures six foot tall by 37 inches wide. it has nice crown moulding on the top reflecting ally he detail on this unusual piece. Antique Vtg 16 Drawer Wood Unit Utility Parts Bin Cabinet Pick Up Maryland 21136
Acquired this about 20 years or so ago from a guy who said his father a cabinet maker had made it but don't remember in what year anymore. I have always used it out in the garage for small parts. Nuts, bolts, washers, etc. that you would find in a working garage. So does have some oil or grease stains, some lower drawers are sticky so might have to do a quick planing on the tracks, upper drawers work much smoother, has 16 total. Some have dividers, some are wide open. All is made of mostly plywood I think except each knob is a machined knurled grip round shape. Can see quite a bit of work and time was put into it many moon ago and has served me well over the years but no longer fooling with bikes so is up for sale now. Measures 30" long x 13" deep x 14 1/2" high, each drawer is 12" long x 6 1/2" wide. Great for ... moremany uses especially if you had time to refinish the outside, it never matter much to me other than for storage and organization. This beautiful piece was inherited and I have no room for it. I know nothing about it but will try to answer any questions. This is pick up only so the best thing for you to do is come by and check it out for yourself. But do it quickly because we want it gone! Measures approx 66"x41"x15" The top does not separate from the base and it is dlightlybwobbly due to a side panel being loose. Door inserts are glass and there are removable shelves inside.
