$60.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Mooresville, United States This is an old favorite of mine.Small enough to be very versatile.My mother was a librarian and I have her large 60 and 72 drawer units from her library ... morebut this guy is a real treasure.The larger units are from the 60s, this guy with it's dovetailed joints goes back to the 1890s. Each drawer has the 1892 and 1894 patent date on them.The Library Bureau Sole Makers Company was in business from the early 1880s to about 1925.I guess the library in the 1890s had to be the only gateway to the world and the hands that were in these drawers.Very nice old patina and there are a few issues but not major and easily addressed and fixable with low expense.There is a piece along the right rear back panel which is not really visible from the front.A couple drawers have some cracks and one has a piece of the rear panel gone but every issue is repairable and I have not altered or repaired anything so you are dealing with the original item.No screws or glue added but it could use some skill to keep it original.There was tape used on the exterior over the years and those are the shadows you see in the photographs.The shadow of the ring on the top was put there by the original librarian so I had a place to put my coffee cup.It is a really cool piece and soundly built.Another 100 years is no problem with this guy. The card catalog measures 61" tall, 33" wide, and 17" deep overall. Each drawer measures 3 7/8" tall, 5 5/8" wide and 16 3/4" deep. It is stacked in interlocking sections and includes: stand, double sliding book shelves, two 2' x 5' sections, one 3' x 5' sections, and a top cap. Each 2' x 5' section has 10 drawers and the 3' x 5' section has 15 drawers for a total of 35 drawers. The brass pulls have patina to them and all the hardware is intact. You are looking at a vintage 15 drawer library card catalog cabinet. It is a solid well built piece that has tons of repurposing possibilities! It has a walnut finish. The top is walnut veneer, which has some chipping and the one side has some marks that look like a child's doodling. Vintage Library Card Catalog Rod Nickel Plate Aluminum Hardware Steel Rod
For sale are library card catalog rods made using a steel rod and what appears to be aluminum or nickel plated brass handles. These were removed from a built in cabinet at a local middle school library which was being renovated. These rods are 17 1/2" long overall. The rod portion is 5/32" thick and the aluminum head is designed to snap into an 11/32" opening. These could be shortened for use in different cabinets. I also have some card catalog door fronts available in another listing and can combine shipping charges. Shipping is $6.50 for the first and $1 for each additional purchased. For sale are what I believe to be Oak drawer fronts from a vintage library card catalog(They are definitely some type of hardwood) These were removed from a built in cabinet at a local middle school library which was being renovated. They have brass pulls that have a satin nickel plated finish. There is some normal wear on the items. But they are all in great lightly used condition. The cabinet comes apart into four sections for easy moving. Each section has 15 drawers. There is also a base/riser section. Two pull-out table sections, and a top cap. There is a mix of wood and plastic drawer bodies. I would guess that two of the units came with wood drawers and two were added later with plastic drawers. All of the drawer faces are the same, though if you look very closely the guide rod is slightly different in appearance. One guide rod is missing and a couple are loose or slightly bent. The top of the cabinet shows some wear. For sale are aluminum drawer pulls from a vintage library card catalog. These were removed from a card catalog cabinet that was unneeded surplus from local middle school library. They are a two piece design and include the screws that are used to attach them to the drawer front. They are 4 and 1/2" wide. 1 3/4" tall and 15/16" deep. These are wider than the typical drawer pulls on card catalogs and the window area is much larger. They would make a unique drawer pull and allow for label placement as well. These are in good condition with no cracks or major damage. They do have some light oxidation in spots. But they could easily be painted or would look pretty good as is. For sale is a beautiful industrial card catalog. I restored it down to the original metal patina. The back of the piece is not finished. All 35 drawers open smoothly and have original brass pulls. It stands 55 inches tall. 26 inches wide, and 25 inches deep. The metal has dents, tarnish, and a little rust which all add to its unique charm. This is one of my favorite furniture pieces but I am moving to the west coast and it is just too heavy to take. It weighs a lot! A dolly and two strong people will be necessary to make the move. Card catalog unit from the Morgan Library at Grace College. The library was first built in 1939 but later moved to a building constructed in the 60s or 70s. So I'm not sure when this card catalog was originally built. Some surface wear. But all drawers work, and I have most or all of the rods and metal dividers. All drawers retain the drawer pull hardware. Dimensions: Width: 41.5 inches. Depth: 34 inches. Height(without casters) 28 inches. My grandfather worked at the college as a carpenter for decades and may actually have built it himself. He would know how old it is. But he is unfortunately no longer around to tell me. He bought it when the library switched to an online catalog and kept it in his shop for years after that.

These are vintage, brass rods that slide into library card catalog drawers to hold cards in place. Length is 16 3/4 inches. The drawers have dovetail joints and the overall assembly is over 200 pounds. I was able to move it in three pieces in a Dodge mini-van with the top and card catalog inside and the stainless steel base on the roof. This is a vintage wooden library card catalog cabinet with six drawers. Drawers have brass handles. Perfect for storing craft supplies. Small tools, household items, recipes, apothecary items, and the like.I`m not positive on the maker, but there was a card inside that says Texwood, but I`m not totally sure.The box and drawer fronts are oak, the drawers are plastic and the guides are metal, the hardware is brass. I`m not sure on the age, but I`m guessing 70`s, and it is very heavy for it`s size. A couple of the rods are missing(see photo) But otherwise this is in very good condition. Antique American Oak Library Card Catalog 4 Drawer File Clarke and Baker Bureau
This is a really nice American Oak Library Card Catalog index file. Made by the Clarke and Baker company in Ilion, New York around 1915 to 1920. The vivid quartersawn oak wood grain patterns are just great, and the case is made with high quality dovetail construction. The four drawers all have their original adjustable card supports and hold standard 3" by 5" index cards. These files don't come along very often in as nice a condition as this one. The outside dimensions are 13" wide by 14" deep by 9" tall. I will ship this by fedex within 1 day of payment.
