Sturdy. It has paints chips and scratches. It looks very cool the way it is. But you can strip and put a new coat of paint on it. I think that current paint is original paint. One of the shelves has a whole. I think it is original to the wood it was use. On one of the side. It has two boards nailed to it. I think they might have been meant for holding it to a wall or something like that because no damage can be appreciated. I do not think they are repairs, so they can be taken off if desired. on the same side. You can see a lot of bug holes: i am not sure what they are, but they are not new. It is a one piece cabinet and very heavy. Front has two blind doors. Has 6 punch tin sides. Stands 57" tall. 54" wide, 17 1/2" deep. Doors measure 21" wide, 52" tall. The doors have hand chamfered panels. Top right side has a chip in the wood top as shown in pic#7. Top at one time has something stuck to it and shows a little damage(pic#6) Bottom left side shows an old repair(pic#11) It is rustic, primitive and has lots of character. Has rough wood slatted back. This cabinet is vintage it has been refurbished by me. Hand painted and distressed in a beautiful teal blue with copper-tone. This has a glass top with painted designs on the underside of glass. Antique Pine Ohio Jelly Cupboard, Large Heavy and Solid
This is a wonderful antique primitive jelly cupboard. It appears to be all handmade. It was purchased in Ohio and I was told it originates in Ohio. The bottom base and the top trim were replaced at some point in time. The original mid section appears to be pine. It measures approx. 52 inches WIDE x 62 1/4 inches HIGH x 13 1/2 inches DEEP. The top is flat. There are 4 long shelves inside(I provided a picture of 1/2 of the cupboard opened) I have owned this cupboard for a very long time. I never realized that it was once painted until I saw the pictures that I provided for the auction and picked up on the paint deep between the beadboards. This is not visible or obvious in person. Small& Tall.Will get measurements if needed. Approximatly 12' depth x 30' width x 6' height.Has old porcelain knobs& flat head screws in hinges. Unknown wood.But wood on the back appears to be slats that are straight up,has a rough texture sorta. Look at pictures. Age unknown. Unknown if its Antique or Primitive,but looks like its Old. Great condition. Has wear where the locks are[pc of short wood to hold doors shut] Has what appears to be wheat engraved in the bottom doors. Top doors has metal wire[sand screen] Holds old mason jars with ease. Just the right size for jelly jars,etc.This is old wood, appears to have original flat head screws& porcelain knobs& no rot.Looks really old however I am not a pro so I don't know if this is actually antique or primitive-and really don't know the difference.
