This very attractive double page map sheet titled IDAHO and WYOMING is from the 1899 printing of The Century Atlas of the World. The map itself is dated 1897. The atlas was"Prepared under the superintendence of Benjamin E. Smith. A.M. and published by The Century Company, New York. The highly prized maps in this atlas were engraved by The Matthews-Northrup Company of Buffalo, NY. The maps from The Century Atlas are acknowledged to be among the finest of the late 19th century. Displaying plenty of sharp detail. Attractive colors, and good margins for framing. My photos really do not do this fine map justice! The page is about 12 1/2 by 17 inches in size. The reverse is blank. The map has a vertical center fold. As published. There is a fine inset map of Yellowstone National Park. Crowell and Kirkpatrick" at the bottom. They have pale red and green areas and red borders and include the square miles and population of each state. There is fraying around the edges of the pages with a few short tears but no losses to the maps and no stains or writing on them. The size is 13& 5/8" by 10& 3/4"

1897 Idaho& Wyoming Original Colored 15" x 10.5" Detailed Map This listing is for an original 1897 color lithographic map of both Idaho and Wyoming. It is extraordinarily detailed for a map its size and includes seemingly every city and town. As well as, counties, railroad lines, geographical references, including contour lines, hills, mountains, lakes, rivers, ponds, islands and prominent points if applicable. The map is on standard weight paper and measures 16.5 x 11.75 inches including ample margins that are somewhat greater than shown in the picture. The condition overall is fine and as shown in the pictures. The paper is over 100 years old and is age toned as should be expected. The map is a high resolution scan and therefore the size and details may seem to be greater than what is viewed with the naked eye. These maps ... morewere tipped into the atlas and therefore contain no staple marks. Most of the maps are double-page and therefore have a crease down the center with the tipping strip on the reverse. Residual of the tipped-in strip remains but it could be removed or trimmed prior to matting and framing. The crease may be pressed flat but it will likely never completely disappear. It should also be expected that the page edges will show some minor wear and soiling but the margins are sufficient that the wear will not be noticeable after being matted and framed. As should be expected. There is age toning as the result of being exposed to air and more specifically moisture in the air. The paper is cream toned which tends to get slightly darker toward the edges. The fold in the center is darker as well. There are no water stains, nor unexpected odors. The reverse side is largely blank having only the map number and name in each corner. There is no post printing damage or faults such as offsetting, tears, holes, foxing, or writing marks, other than what would be disclosed herein. Again, please see the scanned image for the most accurate representation of the actual map you will receive. Note that each
