This sand cast pattern ... morewas used in a foundry to form a sand cast mold. Which would then be cast in iron to form the wheels for ore carts in the mines. It comes from the history-rich mining area near Angels Camp and Jacksonville, CA. This area was an integral part of the 1840's Gold Rush period which was launched with the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill, and numerous foundries were there to take care of supplying the mines. One was the Miner's Foundry in Nevada City, CA(1850's) and another was the Knight Foundry in Sutter's Creek(1872) I cannot verify which foundry this came from, but since it is directly from the area, it has a great history, and is certainly a super mining collector's piece. We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of vintage(1950s) hanging garden baskets. The pair are HEAVY and are constructed of substantial. Industrial, tubular wrought iron. They retain most of their original white paint but they do have several areas of chipping paint with some rust underneath. This gives the pair a very wonderful, aged character. There is old chain attached as well as a ringed hangers. The baskets are weighty and very sturdy. Could also be used as large candle holders for your porch or patio. The pair are identical. Each basket(excluding chain) measures 12" tall and 12.25 in diameter at the top. They do narrow a little toward the bottom. They will hold a pot or candle of 9.75" in diameter. This vintage dovetailed tote looks handmade many years ago. But it is still sturdy. It can be used for gardening, small tools, utensils, etc. Measurements are: 7 1/2 wide X 11 3/4" long X 2 1/4" high. Also, two shovels are included in this auction. The large shovel is 12" long X 3 1/2" wide that has previously been painted red(see photo#6) The child's shovel is 8" long X 2 1/4" wide. There is a tiny bit of green or blue paint on the backside. Rare 1880's New Model Farm Seeder with Planet JR. 300-300A Handles
Up for Auction is a Rare 1880's Antique New Model Farm Seeder with Planet JR. 300-300A Handles. The Oak Handles have been replaced with Planet JR's. and are in very good condition with no crack or splits. There are a few marks on the edges as well as the two oak frame pieces. The stenciling is still ledgable with some fading. The hopper is all cast iron vs tin, and all other parts are cast iron as well with a uniform coating of rust over all surfaces. The one cross member appears to have be repaired by brazing and is a nice repair. There are a few pieces missing, and the spring is broken, but otherwise a fantastic collectible. The Top of the Seeder Reads: PATD DEC 4 83. OCT 28 84, JUNE 2 85, NOV 22 87. The seeder wheel reads: Turnip, Cabbage, Sage, Carrot, Onion, Parsnip, Spinach, and Beet. Payment is by Paypal only. Antique 1894 Jones Folding Metal 2-Tier Plant Stand Rack Wooden Wheels
This antique rack is maker marked on the wheels as Jones and Company. Each tier is ornately bordered with overlapping wire arches. Each rack has multiple wire rods to support planters. The frame is built with strap iron. Supported by multiple wire braces. The stand is about 28” tall at the back rack and 20” at the first tier. It is about 30” wide and the racks are 9” deep. Front to back it measures about 19” The arches are about 2 1/2” tall. The four wheels are made of wood. It is fairly evident that the rack has been painted white. And not particularly well. The paint does not look to be antique, but it was not done yesterday either. Likely not stored outside, the paint is not chipping, but does show some wear. Showing a few minor wire bends, the rack is overall in excellent structural condition. Vtg Cement-Concrete Deer statues, 3 Vtg Cement Buck, Doe, Fawn lawn statues, WOW
Lot of 3 concrete/cement Vintage Deer Statues; Buck. Doe and Fawn. The Buck measures approximately 15" long, 14" tall. He has an antler broken off. The other antler is wood so it can be broken off as well to match or you can possibly add another wooden one on. The doe measures approximately 15" long and 12 1/2" tall. The sleeping fawn measures approximately 9" long and 3" tall. I didn't see any broken places. There are chips and pitting as you can see in all 4 photos. Great patina on these old statues. Plant Pot Holders, Antiques, Spikey Pot Elevators, Heavy, Rare
Up for auction is 2 old antique flower pot holder/elevators. They are both made from metal and are pretty heavy. Both are spikey and sharp. I was told that they were to put under a flower pot to keep it off the surface the plant was on but I'm not 100% sold on that. They look alot like a tool used to straighten and untangle wool before spinning it. One measures 3" across and is 1" high and the other one measures 1 1/2" across and is 7/8" high.
