They are unopened, with their 1940's graphics intact. The packaging states: An Individual Hothouse for Every Plant. Their purpose was to protect against frost, rain, and insects; allowing for earlier planting. The graphics are in good vintage condition, and would display well. There's some loss of green paper on the closing tab, under the cut here line. The way it occurs, it blends in well with the paper caps. I am selling this strictly, as vintage advertising, for display. Especially, since it would display so well. Due to their age, I am unsure if the covers, would work. 2 Vintage Deco Era Tin Stick In The Ground Vases Cemetery Vases Green& Gold Here's a wonderful pair of vintage deco era stick-in-the-groud vases- commonely referred to as cemetery vases. But I think that gives them a bad rap- because they work and look wonderful anywhere in the ground, or even put them in the center of a plant pot to accent your arrangement. This is a matching pair, made of tin, and with a gorgeous deco green finish that is accented with a deep gold around the impressed line design that runs the top perimeter of the vases. Each on measures 14 1/2" tall in total, with the vase alone being 7 1/2" tall by 4 3/16" diameter. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition. I filled them up, and both of them held water with no leaks. There's wear to the finish in scratches and scrapes- and light surface ... morerust where the metal is exposed- the most amount being on the poles as they have spent time in the ground- they are pretty well covered with surface rust. There's a handful of small dings on the body that are shallow and you really have to look for to find(see my photos and close ups) and there's a 1 1/2" section of the top rim on one that is bent down a little farther than the rest of the rim- I'm showing it in photos 20& 21. It is flat there, so takes the shape of the vase at top off round, but really, it's minor and hard to notice. Each one weighs 3/4 lb. They are dirty, especially the bottoms as they were stored upside down in the barn, but you can also see dark marks, and soil marks all over the bodies- they need a good bath. What more can I tell you? These are very seldom seen in such a gorgeous color- more often than not, they are cone shaped, and dark green- so I jumped on the opportunity to get them for you- love them and use them! There are no major dents justa couple of little dings. There is no bad rust spots just a little on the inside bottom. The handle has some surface rust on it and still has some of the original red paint. This bucket came out of an old barn that I cleaned out and tore down that had not been used since 1946. The size of the bucket is 9" tall and 10 5/8" across the top and 8 1/2" across the bottom and the handle is 5" above the top of the bucket. The bucket needs a good cleaning. Here is a fun pair of ceramic watermelon slice salt& pepper shakers with a label that says" Souvenir of Wichita. Kans. They are 4" x 1 5/8" Both of the shakers have labels but the printing on one is faded completely away. They are marked"Japan" on the bottom and have what I imagine are the original corks. One cork probably could not be gotten out without crumbling it a bit. I am not sure but I do not think that these have ever been used. The re are little white spots(other than the rind) but I think they are just imperfections in the making rather than actual damage-you can not feel any difference in the finish. I do NOT know if it is in working condition as I have no way to test it! This fan measures 12 1/8" high X 5 1/8" wide; its depth is approx. 4 1/4" It is made of a heavy metal-most likely some kind of steel/iron. This is a Vintage 1940s Bakelite Sunbeam Hedge Trimmer or Clipper which came out of a rural Pennsylvania estate and it is in good looking and in cutting condition. It was made by Sunbeam Corporation of Chicago. Illinois and dates back to the 1940s. It is Model A-1-A with bakelite handle, electrical brush covers and on/off switch. It is 110-20 volts and 66 watts whether you use it for display and/or cut hedges with it. This unit works like new,The cutting blade is 12" in length, the overall measurements 3-1/2"x8"x24" and it weighs 6 pounds. Perfect for any collectors of vintage items.
