Vintage Mid Century 2 Door Maple Cedar Cabinet Chest Trunk By LANE c1955
This is a beautiful mid century maple two door cedar cabinet by Lane dated November. 1955. PLEASE NOTE: the pictures were taken in bright sunlight and came out a bit too light and orange in color.the cedar cabinet has a warm maple tone and is slightly darker than shown. The cabinet features shutter and paneled style doors with brass pulls that open to a solid cedar interior. The interior has two quality sliding beveled drawers with side handles. I have seen these sliding drawers on previous listings but they were just flat(no sides) and did not have the design and quality that these do. This would be great for sweaters. Blankets, etc. This heavy cabinet measures 34" by 17" and stands 31 1/2" tall and is in excellent condition for its age with minimal wear. VINTAGE SPANISH STYLE LIFT TOP TRUNK / CHEST
Please see all of the photographs and read the complete description. Both the images and text are considered a full disclosure of condition. This listing is for a Spanish style trunk that came from an estate in California. It has hand forged iron hardware and measures 34 1/2" wide x 18 5/8" in depth x 17 1/4" high. It is a thick pine wood and is fairly heavy. There are large wood knots in several areas that add to the look. It is missing the wood in one knot at the rear of the trunk where the right side hinge is. Photograph# 2 and 9} Although this piece of hardware is attached to the trunk below the knot hole. It is missing a hinge pin that affects the operation of the lid. It does open and close but would need to be fixed. The left side rear hinge pin has a tightly wound piece of what appears to be tape around the end of the ... morehinge pin preventing it from slipping through the hinge{photograph# 2 and10} The hinge is serviceable but would also benefit from a new hinge pin. The latch on the front lock was bent forward at some point{photo# 7} and the lock key has long since gone missing. Please use the close up feature to get a better look at all the descriptions.There are age and use marks over different areas of the trunk. I do not know the exact age of the piece, but my best guess would be maybe 1960's- 1970's. This would make a nice home decoration as is, blanket storage after some hinge repairs, or perhaps a base for a coffee table after a good piece of heavy clear glass is fitted to it. Gorgeous full size tessellated stone trunk with brass details and velvet lining. C. 1970s-1980s. Maitland-Smith style trunk is unmarked. Salmon-hued large stone trunk can be used as a coffee table. Another Great Find from Wisconsin. This Auction is for a Vintage Well Made HARTMANN Steamer Trunk IN A GREAT GREEN COLOR. This has the Hangers and Keys. It is about 33.5 inches long 22 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep. Hangers for longer clothes on one side Folded clothes on the other side with snapped liner to keep them from falling all over. Lane Cedar Chest Item in pictures is actual item being sold in current condition. This is for a Lane brand Cedar Hope Chest. This is a beautiful genuine antique Lane brand cedar lined hope chest which belonged to my grandmother. She was given this as a 9th grade graduation gift in 1952 from her mom and dad. I do not know the actual date of manufacturing only the year she was given it. According to the product information given below and the serial number. The date of manufacturing is 08/02/50. The color is a beautiful medium brown and made out of solid cedar wood and veneer on the outside and brown stain finish. This chest is very secure and sturdy. This was purchased in the early 1960's and was known at our house as the"music chest" Mom was a professional musician and kept her sheet music inside. She passed in 1967 and this has been in a closet ever since. Time to"come out of the closet" and be of use to a new owner. Extremely well made and sturdy. As you can see from the inside photo. No staples are seen, even inside. Ivory color vinyl with hip 60's motif black pattern. The sides and back still show the gold flecks of original color. The top still has some of this gold flecking, but most of it is worn off. Hassocks by this maker in this large size are quite rare.
