This auction is for a vintage Griswold Meat Grinder with 2 extra blades. It is a No.2. It is in fair condition with signs of age and ware. It is marked on front of grinder. And handle is marked" 1742 The G.M. Co. Erie, PA" Handle unsrews easily. Back of mounting section is marked" 1712" Metal plating on front has a line in it that looks like a crack, but it isn't. No cracks on metal, just scratches from use and age. Blades are inter changable and all total there are 3 blades. Blades assembly unscrews easily along with mounting screw. ANTIQUE VINTAGE GRISWOLD NO 10 Metal Meat Grinder 2460 Erie, PA 9 Inches
This is a great antique or vintage Griswold No 10 meat grinder made in Erie. PA. It appears to be in very good condition and is a very solid and heavy piece. The number 2460 appears on it near the bottom, and the number 2458 appears on the inside metal top part of the handle. This grinder measures about 9 inches from top opening to bottom of the handle and taking all side parts into consideration is about 8 inches across counting the handle. I do not notice any issues with this piece except light rust on the bolt/fastener and one or two other small areas. The handle turns well but somewhat slowly. It is an interesting old piece and I am selling the it strictly as a kitchen collectible since I have no idea about its actual meat grinding capabilities.

Vintage 1742 Griswold Meat Chopper Complete with original instructions & Case
Vintage Griswold Combination Meat and Food Chopper. The cabinet-mount chopper is stamped Griswold and the handled has a number 1742 and"The G.M, Co. Erie PA" stamped in it. It includes the chopper, handle, 3 plates(course,medium,fine) clamp screw, ring. According to the pictures in the directions, it is complete. Also includes a small card stating its a No. 3 Chopper and the instructional card. The metal case is not marked Griswold that I can find so I don't know if it's original or not. It may have been made out of a regular tool box. It is green on the inside and red on the outside, but the original color is green. The outside is very rough, not rusty just not a good paint job. If I knew how to take it down the original green I would. Box measures 13.5 x 6.5. It needs a good cleaning but not sure what to use. The only ... morerust is on one of the plates. PA, AS IT PERTAINS TO COLLECTORS OF CAST IRON COOKWARE In 1865. Two Erie families associated by marriage, joined in a modest venture to manufacture door hinges. The Selden and Griswold union paved the way for The Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie, Pennsylvania, recognized world wide as producers of fine cast iron products, especially cookware. Between 1865 and 1957 when they closed production of the plant at the corner of 12 th and Raspberry Street. Their line of cookware had been sold and used around the world. Their designers and engineers produced many patents spanning almost 100 years of manufacture. Before the turn of the 20 th century. They added cast aluminum products to their ... moreline. In the 1920's they enameled some cookware and by the 1930's they offered electric items to their product list. They produced commercial pieces for use in restaurants. The company was in trouble by the 1940's for a variety of reasons. Many products were being introduced by other cookware companies that seemed more attractive to modern cooks. Problems within the company between management and employees widened. The quality of the products seemed to decline, and in 1957 the doors of GMC closed leaving 60+ employees without jobs. While most of the GMC cookware is a desired collectible. Almost all collectors avoid the small Griswold logo era. The former quality and casting isn't there, for the most part. The small emblem items are good for users of cast iron because they don't have the price tag of the collectibles and are great for function.
