The chair shown is offered elsewhere in our collection Item# 110105PII25 This is a remarkably preserved English Chippendale Period Kneehole Desk. Circa 1740-50. It is crafted of well figured solid single boards of Mahogany on the top and sides- there is no veneer on this desk, just solid boards of full grain mahogany. A simply molded edge runs the perimeter of the top, each corner scalloped. Each drawer is hand dovetailed front and back, with thin oak frame construction and thin oak drawer bottoms- all drawers are fully original and lack any adjustments and restorations to the secondary construction. Glowing hand forged brass hardware adorns each drawer. Appearing to have never been removed from the piece. Inside each drawer, as well as the tiny door in the kneehole area, silver metal locks are secured and functional. Each lock appears to be original, each uniquely cut on the right hand corner for all small drawers- it would appear the craftsman was presented with the challenge of making the lock of his choice fit the small space in conjunction with the pull hardware, and overcame this but cutting the corners of each lock. Hand made screws are visible throughout the lock hardware. While we cannot say for certain if the key is original, it is of the period, hand made and very similar in metal color to that of the locks. Each drawer is lip-molded and slides flawlessly in and out of the desk. Just below the top drawer is a secret drawer compartment. Appearing to be part of the frame design, but actually pulls outward smoothly as an extra hand dovetailed drawer. This is a unique addition for the craftsman to make, as many of these knee hole desks are without such innovations. The wide top drawer pulls out to reveal a full dust shelf. 1960's cedar chest by Lane, beautiful needlepoint embroidery top dark pine color
My mother bought the cedar chest back in the mid 60's. I think she got it at the Barker Brothers furniture store in west Los Angeles. It has a dark pine or Ebony or whatever finish you want to call it. It probably will ship UPS Freight or maybe even USPS parcel. Just depends. The embroidered top is factory original, it came that way and kinda reminds me of early colonial as far as the style goes. This has the original lock and if you want, you should replace it if you have small children or grandchildren as this is supposed to be airtight and will lock when closed. I understand that Lane furniture makes a child proof lock so that they can't get locked in but you would have to order that from Lane and I don't know what the cost is. It has 5 drawers on the right, and hanging clothes storage in the right. There are some peach colored stripes painted on the outside of it, and the latches were painted gold. We don't think this is orginal paint. The lock is not working and there is no key included, but the latches still hold the trunk down. There are some scuffs on the side and bottom as shown in the photos, but these only add character to this trunk which has likely has travelled thousands of miles. Lane Presented By Davis Furniture Wellsboro, PA. are embedded in the wood on the inside of the lid. The key works perfectly in the lock so we're positive it's original to the piece. The chest itself is structurally sound without any cracks. Splits, wiggles or loose pieces. Please note the small area on the lid to the right of the lock. We believe there was a piece of tape used at some time to hold the lid down and it caused a slight“lightening” of the wood. Roo's Cedar Chest
This auction is for ROO'S CEDAR CHEST I believe this could be a pre 1950 but I listed it as a post 1950. I couldn't find a date on the chest. It is used and does show signs of wear. One hinge screw is loose that goes to the base of the trunk. Is intact but may need wood filler but closes fine. It has little wheels on the bottom and seem to roll on concrete just fine. Beautiful Walnut Cedar Chest Like New Dated 1975
Like New Cedar Chest A Beautiful and unique Cedar Chest made by in 1975. This chest just came out of a home and was still in the shipping container. It is basically brand new and never used even though it is almost 40 years old, still has the original manufactures tags on the chest. The chest is extra clean, comes with a green felt backed shelf on the inside and is in perfect condition. The outside is also in excellent condition. The Lock on this Chest has been changed to meet the US Safety commissions recall of Cedar Chests made before 1987. The lock does come with a key. Beautifull 1970's Lane cedar hope chest.
This is a beautiful 1970's Lane cedar hope chest. As you can see in the pictures it in beautiful shape. It measures 48.5l x 21.5t x 18d. I have children in the house so for safety reasons the lock assembly has been removed but it does come with the chest as well as the key. And is simple to reinstall. I have set the shipping to local pick-up, but if you are somewhat close to Danville IL, I could deliver it for the cost of gas.

Mid-Century Modern 1960's 3 Drawer Medicine Chest Jewelry Cabinet Silverware Cabinet? I am not sure what this cabinet is. It might be a medicine cabinet or a jewelry cabinet or maybe even a silverware cabinet. It measures 15" wide x 12" deep x 10" tall. It has 3 slide out drawers. The top 2 drawers measure 1 7/8" deep and the bottom one measures 2 5/8" deep. There are no dividers in any drawer. There is a cigarette burn to the top far right and 3 circular dents to the face of 2 of the drawers. I believe this is blonde maple wood but am not certain. It is not heavy like oak wood would be.

the face is not bad it just needs washing or refinishing! the guy built and used it and keep his tools in it in his work shed! it is heavy and strong with heavy duty wheels and heavy deco chrome brass pulls. it is about 50 inches tall. he used oak. Pine crates to plywood. scrapes! it would look great refinished cleaned up or even painted! the bottom face is dusty and it really just need soap and water or you can refinish paint or leave as is. located in Waterbury ct of I84! big deep strong drawers. GREAT STORAGE FOR TOOLS AND EVEN CAN BE USED AS A PANTRY! each drawer has a lock. if you find a key it most likely the same for all.
