There is some rust and lots of paint. They appear to be spring loaded. Paint is decent but peeling in places and has some old paint/varnish over parts. Here I have a vintage used primitive black painted thumb push door handle latch hardware set in nice condition. The handle is 10" long with screw holes that are 7 3/4" apart. The thumb push part is 6 3/4" long with the push being 1 3/8" wide. The catch latch piece is 3 1/4" long with screw holes 2 1/2" apart. 2 LARGE PRIMITIVE BLACKSMITH MADE BARN DOOR/GATE HINGE PINS ((LOOK))
Up for auction we have 2 wonderful early primitive blacksmith made barn door or gate hinge pins! One of the pins measures 13 3/4 inches in length and the other pin measures 13 3/8 ths. in length. The upright pins measure 7/8 ths. of an inch in diameter. As you can see from the photos one of the nuts is missing and the threads on the one pin has bunged up threads on the first 2 threads.see my last photo. The nut will start on this pin but only for about 1 turn. You would either have to run a die down the threads or try a V shaped file to open up the threads, the threads measure.650 ths. or about 21/32 nds.in diameter. The stand alone weight of both pins is 5 lbs. 5 ozs. I cleaned these pins with a wire brush, soap and water and applied a clear spray enamel. The bottom line is if you want 2 great pieces of early blacksmith,hand made true Americana, ... morelook no further! I do believe that these pins are from the mid 19th century! Up for auction we have 2 sets of barn door rollers. Though I do think these rollers were used on lighter individual stable doors. The roller brackets are not a match. On the one bracket the lips are both bent the same way and on the other bracket the lips are bent in opposite directions, the widths of the brackets are the same and the width is the same, but again the lips are different lengths, please look at the photo where I placed the rulers to point out this discrepancy. The roller wheels spin freely and the roller wheel brackets do pivot a short distance up and down. The outside dimension of the roller wheels is 9/16 ths The roller wheels measure 2 3/4inches in diameter. I must also point out that on the one roller, where the large bracket is bolted to the smaller 3 hole mounting bracket, the top nut is froze up! There are remains of ... moreblack paint on these rollers, for what ever reason the one roller has a lot of black paint still remaining. I do not see any manufacturers mark on the rollers.The combined weight of the rollers is 5 lbs. Standard rollers for a track system, measuring about 9.5" top to bottom, wheels are 1 7/8" These are VERY dirty with dried, caked grease, they are complete and everything works, all hardware is free, the adjustment nuts are both loose. These were removed by me from a 100 year old barn before demolition. the track was on salvageable but these are in great shape. They have minor pitting from the elements but overall the wheels moves freely in the hinges move freely. antique myers stayon barn door rollers with 6' pc of track
A set of antique myers ok stayon door rollers[ pat. May 28th 01] that has no chips or cracks and the 3 1/4" wheels turn freely. This set of rollers is in very good working condition. They come with 4 good working carriage bolts and square nuts. And lag bolts for the track. The 6' pc of myers brand track is good and straight with all of the original wall brackets there and they are well attached. The wall brackets would hold the track out 1 1/2" from the wall and the rail of the track measures 1 1/4" tall by 3/16" thick. I did carefully strip and clean and handpaint all of this to give it a new but yet somewhat old look. I would recommend that our painted set should be installed indoors just to make the detailed paint stay on the best. Thank you for viewing our antique barn hardware. 2 PRIMITIVE LARGE FANCY BLACKSMITH MADE BARN DOOR HINGES ((MUST SEE))
Up for auction we have 2 outstanding fancy primitive blacksmith made barn door mounting hinges! Lets start with the measurements. The hinges differ slightly in length, the longest hinge measure 41 inches in length, the other hinge measures 40 inches in length. The end holes where the hinges sat on the mounting pintils measure 5/8ths of an inch, inside diameter. The 3 main mounting holes on each hinge measure 7/16ths. The width at the hinges widest point measures 2 inches. The thickness of the hinges measures about 7/16 ths. at the mounting pintil end and about a 1/4 inch thick near the hooked end.these hinges are heavy duty! The stand alone weight of both hinges is 12 lbs. 2 ozs.As you can see from the photos the iron is pitted from age, I cleaned these hinges with a wire brush and then clear sprayed the hinges with enamel. Without hesitation ... moreI would date these wonderful hinges to the mid 1800's! Indeed great examples of early primitives and a slice of true Americana!
