REFURBISHED Antique Allith Cast Iron Fire/ Barn Door Hangers. Large Door Hanger Hardware, Steampunk Size: 23 ½” tall. 7 ¾” wide, 3 ¼” deep Weight: ~12.5 lbs(each) These hangers were salvaged many years ago from a warehouse located on Greens Bayou. Near the Houston Ship Channel. I’m told that the warehouse was built in 1914. The outward-facing surfaces of the hangers are nicely contoured. I’ve cleaned them up by removing the large rivet that held the wheel in place. Removing the rusted needle bearings from the wheel, sandblasting the hanger and wheel, replacing the rivet with a 5/8” square-head bolt, and replacing the needle bearings with two oil impregnated, powdered metal, bronze bushings(one inside the other) The bushings fit loosely, and the wheel rolls smoothly. The nut has been tack welded to the bolt to ensure that it ... moredoes not back off. I sandblasted the hangers just enough to remove most of the rust. But not all of it. I didn’t want them to look like reproductions, and I wanted to retain the warm brown color. I have lightly sprayed them with oil to help prevent additional rusting. These 2 hangers are not identical(see photos) On the back. Backing Plates for Allith Cast Iron Fire/Barn Door Hanger Size: 12” long. 7 1/8” wide The three square holes in these antique cast iron backing plates line up with the holes in the door hangers that I’m offering in a separate ebay listing(321661526469) The hangers can be mounted on a door by passing carriage bolts through the backing plate. Then through holes in the door, and then through the door hanger. Nuts and washers are needed to secure the bolts. Photo#4 shows a plate sitting on top of a hanger. Photo#5 shows a plate next to a hanger. I've listed these plates separately. Since you may choose to mount the hangers another way. If you purchase the hangers. Listed is a set of antique cast iron Allith Fire Door Rollers. These have been completely taken apart. All pieces blasted, clear coated, bearings were cleaned up and greased. These are clear coated for the natural patina look or you can paint over to the color that you want. These are LARGE rollers that measure 21 inches long and weigh 10-lbs a piece. I have done a lot of these types of items and these would look great in your home.
