Antique Blacksmith Forged Iron Primitive Farm Barn Door / Gate Hinges Massive!
These hinges are really big. Really heavy, really old, and really NEAT looking. Both together weigh 31 pounds. You can tell these were forged. I like how the outside edges were given a bevel. These hinges have spent most of their 100 plus years outside so there is rust and pitting. With proper care, they could last another 100 years. Use them inside or out or just hang them as they are for decoration.

2 VINTAGE CAST IRON AP SLIDING BARN DOOR LATCH ~ GATE GARAGE SHED FARM LOCK TOOL
Offered are two identical cast iron sliding door latches. These are marked AP. I've seen identical latches marked"AP. ALLIGATOR. Perhaps they made these for applications where reptile references were unwelcome. These are a spring action latch and were used on many kinds of sliding doors and gates. Additionally they could be padlocked, and could be opened from either side of a wall with a handy pull chain. I'm not sure of the exact age of these, but they are positively old. The latches are about 7 inches long and 3-3/4 inches across in the latched position. They each weigh a bit over a pound. They are cast iron with steel springs and pins. The flat chain is copper. I can't see any signs of use or wear. But they may have been gently used. There are no cracks, breaks or bends anywhere. The springs are strong and the latch action ... moreis firm and positive. There are remnants of old black paint. I'm not sure these had much of a paint coat when new. There is minor corrosion, mainly on the backs. They are clean and perfectly operational. Here for your consideration is this set of 5 vintage heavy duty T strap hinges for the builder or decorator. This set looks to be unused they are in good fully functional condition with some scuffs and paint loss and some light rust spots. These measure on the long strap side 7 1/2' and on the short side they are 2' deep by 5 1/2' wide. Each hinge takes 9 screws, I am including 45 of the original screws they have some slight paint loss and some light rust, These hinges have the architectural raised up surface for a great look and extra strength, they have the button top hinge pins these are set up on for right hinges but the pins can be easily removed and changed to give you rights or lefts. this 18th century old early original primitive horse ranch corral wooden gate is an exceptional piece of very early horse farm history. it has the best true early aged surface. the hinge post is slightly longer so it tilts a bit when standing. total measurements are 69 1/4'h x 49 1/4'w x 2 7/8' in thickness and weighs about 90 pounds. one of its highlights is the built in sliding gate latch which i think is just great and love about it. it is in all original as found untouched condition. some insignificant minor wood losses and anomolies consistant with a piece of this age but it is in nice stable and solid condition. the upper curved board does have an very early split which has an old wire repair which does not affect the integrety at all and i think just adds to its authentic character. this would look awesome as wall hanging ... morefolk art or a standing piece anywhere that can accomodate room for it. this would especially make for the most unique stunning bed headboard. its being offered for a pick up however i can assist with frieght shipping arrangements.

Pr Large Vtg Richards Wilcox 24" Wrought Iron Barn Door Gate Strap Hinges Arrow Up for bids is a pair of vintage barn door or gate hinges. These hinges are in very good used condition. Showing some age wear. Each measures 24" long, and are 2.5" at the widest point. The straps are firmly attached to the hinges, which function properly. One moves quite smoothly, while the other is a little stiff, but will loosen more with use. There is a marking on the back of one that reads: Richards Wilcox" As seen, They have several mounting holes, and each hinge is heavy-duty. You are buying a Pair 14" Iron Strap Hinges Blacksmith made for barn door or gate primitive made. You will receive 2 hinges! The hinges are blacksmith made from strap iron. They are used of course and rather old. I have no clue if they are 30 year old or 100 but they are old. They have been painted black but the quality of the paint job is varied. Basically someone scrapped off the rust and spray painted them. The hinges pictured are representative of the ones you will receive.All the hinges are good and solid and quite heavy and sturdy. Antique Metal Iron Farm Barn Gate Shed Garage Large Door Hinges European Unique
I salvaged these from a hotel(Rasthaus) I worked at in Germany. It was a hotel that the US military"confiscated" from Hitler after the war. For more on the History of this resort/hotel. Google afrc chiemsee. These hinges were used on the the revieving double doors in the back where trucks would deliver to the hotel. They decided to put in a rolling door and I snagged these before their journey to the dumpster. I shipped them home in my bag on the 1 year anniversary of the 911 terrorist attacks(flights were the cheapest in history on that day) Naturally. Airport security searched my bag because of the tremendous weight. They simply could not comprehend why someone would smuggle hinges into the US. Alas, I got them home and they have been one of the coolest things I own for more than a decade. But now I have children and bills and ... morelittle use for these beautiful hinges. They are in great working condition and are extremely solid. There is some rust around a few of the stationary pins(part that fastens to the door frame) where it screws to the jamb. It is minimal and doesnt seem to threaten the integrity or strength of the hinges. Also. The flat portion of this pin piece that attaches flush to jamb is slightly bowed(curved) I tried to capture this in a photo, but could not. I believe this occured from overtightening and, again, does not seem to effect the integrity or strength of the hinges. Paint is decent but peeling in places and has some old paint/varnish over parts. It will be easy to refirb or leave for the rustic shabby chic look. They are used but good working condition.
