I have up for sale a unique custom built barn wood door. It is a two panel design. We custom built the door out of weathered gray barn lumber. The styles& rails are tenoned together with two panels in the top and bottom with the panel in top being larger. They are separated with a rail that is also tenoned into the styles. The size of the door is 24" x 96" or referred to a 2/0x8/0. And it is a 1-3/4" thick door. This door is designed to be put in a pocket door or sliding door application, so there is no hinge boring or knob routing on it. It is a solid door with all the wood being reclaimed wood from local barns in the east Tennessee area. There is a picture of each side of the door along with some close up pictures of the wood as well. We can custom build any door size someone is needing. This auction is for THREE very unusual double hinged wrought iron strap hinges that likely adorned a bi-fold door large enough to require 3 hinges. The auction DOES NOT INCLUDE PINTLES. The typical strap hinge swings at the pintle and is then strapped down to the door. These hinges have an additional hinge at the center that would be used for a bi-fold door. The hinges are probably as strong as they were when they were made. I see no damage. I have been unable to find anything like it so maybe I am naming it incorrectly. While I do find the occasional strap hinge with a built in center hinge. None of them swing at the end; they all strap down at both ends Weight on each is 3 pounds 8 ounces and length is about 25.5 inches. The stand alone weight of these rollers is 7 lbs. 7 ozs. There are residual signs of old paint on the rollers, I do believe the bottom half of the rollers were painted a beige color and the top half were painted black. Both track rollers spin freely. I have up for sale a unique barn wood door. All our reclaimed doors have been salvaged from deconstructing barns in the lower East TN area. The majority of the doors range around 100 years old. Some may have some more modern pieces on them from people using the barns throughout the time frame until deconstruction. The size of the door is 7/8"thick x 70-1/2"long x 39-1/4"wide, that is not counting the stretcher boards holding the door together, counting them the door will about double in thickness. Some doors are more unique than others, some have the rusty strap hinges on them, others have the antique wooden slides to lock and open the door, and some just have some unique accessories on them, I would recommend looking and zooming in at the pictures to see the great detail and the unique characteristics of each door. The roller wheel on the left has what I would call a very small casting flaw on the outer edge of the wheel. It just looks like it missing a small chip[ 1/8" by 1/8" and it does not affect the wheels performance in any way. Other than that they have no chips or cracks and the 3 1/4" wheels turn freely like they should. They come with 4 original good working bolts and square nuts. The door hanger straps are for a door 1 3/4" thick. There are 2 pcs of louden brand track[ one 6' pc and one 8' pc] The 6' pc has a rail connector pc on the left end of it to connect it to the 8' pc. Both pcs of track are good and straight and both pcs come with all of the original cast steel wall brackets there and well connected. ... moreThe wall brackets hold the rail out 1 1/2" from the wall. AWESOME SET OF ANTIQUE BARN DOOR ROLLERS J.O. & CO. READING, PA.((LOOK))
Up for auction we have an awesome pair of antique barn door rollers! The rollers are marked J.O. Co. Reading. PA. It looks as though the rollers were painted beige on the lower part and some remains of black paint on the tops of the rollers. I had another set of these same rollers that I sold on Ebay a few days ago, this is the last set that I have. The rollers measure 13 inches in length and the part that bolted to the barn door measures 4 1/2 inches across. As you can see from the photos for what ever reason the embossing on the roller on the right is somewhat weak but still readable. I cleaned these rollers with a soft brass brush, soap and water, then clear coated the rollers with spray enamel. The rollers are in very nice stable condition, no breaks cracks or repairs. Three Barn Door Hinges Heavy iron hinges. Two are unmarked but one is marked with a signature that I am not to sure of. It looks like Had'uen-the third letter looks like a backward h. One has a slight bow in it but could be straightened easily. They are all very workable. Thanks for looking.
Antique 1930's Barn/Corn Crib (Rustic BEAUTIFUL Barn Wood) WHOLE STRUCTURE!!!
SPECIFICATIONS: Up for your consideration is an antique weathered wooden Corn Crib barn partially covered in steel from early 1930's. Located on a farm near Minier. Illinois, the building's previous use was obviously for agricultural uses, but is no longer used for such purposes. The structure remains intact as shown in the pictures provided. What's great is that the possibilities for the wood are endless. The unique weathered wood has a great patina with remnants of red paint and the usual wear and tear associated with time and the elements. The wood on the inside is in remarkable condition! I have seen weathered wood re-purposed into furniture, back-splashes,wall treatments, mantels, tables, and doors. The wood is great for a unique look inside your home, office or business. There are a couple of matters that I am unsure of ... moreregarding the structure such as its age and the type of wood(s) used for the build. My initial guess is that the corn crib was built in the early 1900's. This is mainly due to the fact that the foundation is fabricated from stones/bricks. My guess is that the wood is pine, but I am unsure of this and whether there are different types of throughout the structure. The structure does still have the hardware attached for the sliding doors and doors are intact- these obviously contain rust. The roof appears to be galvanized and the 2 end walls, but I am unsure if it is original to the structure my guess is this was later added. Overall, the structure is in great condition and a real testament to time. The look of the wood is truly genuine and cannot be reproduced without the time and elements that this structure has seen since its construction.
