CHEST OF DRAWERS ANTIQUE CHAIRS TABLES BRONZE SCULPTURES FINE PAINTINGS SCHOOL OF ORIGIN SUBJECT LAMPS. LIGHTING ENGLISH GEORGE III INLAID MAHOGANY PEMBROKE ... moreTABLE Fine polished surfaces. Entirely original hardware, c. 1790-1800 Item# 130011MIP03 This is a fine English George III Period Inlaid Mahogany Pembroke Table c. the last quarter of the 18th Century. Crafted from solid mahogany and mahogany veneers. Everything about this fine table speaks quality and attention to detail. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the construction precise and the wood of most choice quality for pristine presentation. The large rectangular top becomes ovular when the demilune leaves raise over their original iron hinges to rest on a pair of wings that swing out from the frame of the table on either side, resulting in a large and brilliant cognac mahogany surface edged by satinwood inlay. The ribbed and glowing quality of the mahogany cannot be underscored enough. A single drawer resides in the frame beneath the projecting top; the drawer is framed with cockbead molding and is hand dovetailed in the usual manner. Utilizing secondary oak woods to make up the frame for the drawer, the bottom board protected beneath runner strips and tacked with four iron brads along the back edge. The lock is probably original, though we have not removed it to be certain, the key now absent. On the other side of the table, the wood is crafted to create the illusion of a drawer where one does not exist. Flanking the drawer and faux-drawer are satinwood veneered panels surrounded by stringer inlay, the apron of the table lined in a thick satinwood border that completes the square profile of the table top. Resting over four square tapering legs. The table terminates on bright and original brass caster feet. The underside of the structure remains untouched, the iron rose head nails affixing the underside of the dustboard to the frame of the table with a pair of corner blocks securing the legs behind the faux-drawer. Worth noting is the need for a screw for

1740'S ENGLISH QUEEN ANNE CROTCHED MAHOGANY GENTLEMAN'S SHAVING MIRROR We take the highest pride in offering you this fabulous 1740's English ... moreQueen Anne period crocthed mahogany three drawer Gentleman's shaving mirror. This mirror is supported on two uprights that have the original brass threaded cheval bolts with decorative knobs. It has its original gold gilt gesso liner and intracately original beveled mirror glass. This is a super attractive shaving mirror with an Ogee curved profiled front to the base containing three drawers. Two of the drawers(the righ and left sides) have been professionally rebuilt and restored in addition to all the four finely crafted bracket feet. These are period accurate feet for this mirror and a sizable investment has been made in correctly restoring the base of this mirror. The piece is coming up on 300 years old and pieces don't get this age without some issues and attention being paid to them. Fortunately this was a professional restoration and not some hack repair we inhertitated and need to have addressed. But we did pay appropriately for the pleasure. One other issue worthy of mention-at some point a previous owner had installed probably brass finials with threaded rods on the tops of the uprights. We are offering the way it is. If you would like finials we would be happy to direct you to several sources for them or have something custom turned by our woodworker. This is an fantastic piece and we were lucky to obtain it. If you desire a fancy option we again will assist you but we are selling this with all its present charm. Integrity and rarity. The shaving mirror is 17" long, 8" wide and 23 1/2" tall. CHEST OF DRAWERS ANTIQUE CHAIRS TABLES BRONZE SCULPTURES FINE PAINTINGS SCHOOL OF ORIGIN SUBJECT LAMPS. LIGHTING FINE ENGLISH GEORGIAN MAHOGANY KNEEHOLE ... moreDESK. MID 18TH CENTURY C. 1740-60 Exceptional state of preservation- retaining original brasses and untouched feet Only the desk is being offered in this listing. The chair shown to give a sense of scale Item# 110105PII25 This is a remarkably well preserved English Georgian Mahogany Kneehole Desk from the third quarter of the 18th century. It is crafted of well figured solid single boards of Mahogany on the top and sides- there is no veneer on this desk. Just solid boards of full grain mahogany. A simply molded edge runs the perimeter of the top, each corner scalloped. Each drawer is hand dovetailed front and back, with thin oak frame construction and thin oak drawer bottoms- all drawers are fully original and lack any adjustments and restorations to the secondary construction. Glowing hand forged brass hardware adorns each drawer. Appearing to have never been removed from the piece. Inside each drawer, as well as the tiny door in the kneehole area, silver metal locks are secured and functional. Each lock appears to be original, each uniquely cut on the right hand corner for all small drawers- it would appear the craftsman was presented with the challenge of making the lock of his choice fit the small space in conjunction with the pull hardware, and overcame this but cutting the corners of each lock. Hand made screws are visible throughout the lock hardware. While we cannot say for certain if the key is original, it is of the period, hand made and very similar in metal color to that of the locks. Each drawer is lip-molded and slides flawlessly in and out of the desk. Just below the top drawer is a secret drawer compartment. Appearing to be part of the frame design, but actually pulls outward smoothly as an extra hand dovetailed drawer. The wide top drawer pulls out to reveal a full dust shelf. Protecting drawers below from saw dust and other debris as it op

17th C MIDEIVAL TRUNK Blacksmith Iron & Wood primitive Travel Chest
Boy where to start. This is a Very Very Old and Very Impressive looking Travel Chest and or Lock Box. A Very Early Construction piece with Iron tacks not Brass and Wonderful Fleur de lis style Blacksmith Forged Hinges. A very early Medieval style Trunk that looks to date to atleast the early 1700's and possibly Early 1600's or so looking at the primitive blacksmith and forging work. So 300 to 400 years old is not out of the question at all. This chest is Guaranteed to be atleast 300 years old& was a fresh find from a Maryland Estate where it had been for the last 100 year when I bought it. Notice the primitive hand made henge pin on one top hinge's I took a close up of. The trunk was originally covered in leather hide which has all but worn away over the century's. It still has some under the tacks but it's brittle ... moreand hard. The sides have some left also. Look around the blacksmith decorative work on the side edges. All of the hard wear looks period to the box and has fully functional hinges though the lock mechanism as you can see has been long removed and a bit forcefully I might ad. It's no big surprise this trunk has been broken into. Probably a number of times and that explains the missing wood around the lock area. I just wonder what this old trunk has had stored in it over the century's. The little bit of man made damage around the lock just helps tell some of it's story but opens up more question in the mind when you see it. I can sit and look at this trunk with my imagination running wild. It's so old and so much history has been recorded during this trunks life I can get lost looking at it and thinking at times. It measures 22" W 11" tall and 12" deep. Thanks for looking. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*4a24%60%3C%3E-14ac845ca24-0x112-

American Chippendale Walnut Antique Blanket Chest of Drawers, Pennsylvania c1780
FINE AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE WALNUT BLANKET CHEST OF DRAWERS Pennsylvania c. 1780. Preserved in nearly untouched condition Item# 411DXP29A This unusually striking American Chippendale blanket chest is distinguished by the open dovetailing of the case. This following from the sides through the feet to accentuate the hand crafted nature of the object. Pennsylvania craftsmen during the late 18th century built these pieces to be family heirlooms that could pass from one generation to the next and the quality of craftsmanship was something they took pride in and openly advertised- while other work centers sought to hide the dovetail, being simply a means of joining one plank to another, clientele in this region expected excellent joinery and examined it as part of the purchase process. As a result, the dovetail became something of an art form, this ... moreexercised to it's fullest in the presentation of the case. Remaining in nearly undisturbed condition with only minor repairs. The chest retains not only it's original brasses and all original hardware but also untouched feet- these are beautiful statements of purity in construction, the entire underside revealing only wooden peg joinery with no glue or nails. A back foot support and accompanying block are separated from the underside, allowing you to see exactly how the blocking perfectly fits together inside of the foot(see pictures in the slideshow) The drawers are constructed in the typical manner of the region. The poplar secondary woods hand dovetailed in the frame with the two-board bottom half-lapped at the joint, chamfered along the sides and set in grooves, allowing them to expand and contract freely. They retain their original brasses and locks, though it is possible the middle drawer has a replaced bottom since the two planks are not half-lapped and the end grains show some variation. Inside of the blanket chest is a sparse interior with a small wooden till on the left. The front of the till lifts to reveal a trio of secret drawers. The middle drawer with a

EARLY 18TH CENTURY SEA CHEST IN WONDERFUL GREEN PAINT ORIGINAL FINISH
ALL ORIGINAL EARLY 18TH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE PERIOD SEA CHEST Bay Colony Antiques takes the most exceptional honor in offering you this exceptionally nice early 18th Century very early Queen Anne period dovetailed pine Sea Chest in fantastic original green paint finish. This is a very special little chest from an amazing collection with some most notable characteristics. Wallace Nutting's Furniture Treasury and Edgar Miller's American Furniture Catalog goes into very exactly detail on these small sea chests and what defines them from blanket boxes both with illustrations of very close variations of this very same chest. These were made in both England and in the American Colonies. Given they were made for sea travel its virtually impossible to say with absolute confidence its American vs English. We are not placing great importance ... moreon this one fact but believe it is American. This chest possesses very nicely detailed precise dovetailed construction. Molded top, snipe hinges, cotter pinned fastened iron side carrying handles with finely detailed rosettes, original old world iron lock with arrow catch(bend back to prevent chest from locking) cedar topped candle till, twin molded front panels with strong remnants of painted Pomegranates and robust ball feet. All its hardware is correct and original. The painting technique employed here is a green over a blue paint finish. The process ended up giving the chest almost a glowing hue effect. Its a most striking and attractive paint finish with dry crusty surface. This chest measures 37" long, 19 3/4" wide and 18 3/4" tall. This is every day of 275 year old and untouched. There is some dry rot present on a back leg evidencing its age. We have opted to leave it alone. The back unpainted base and back panels shows great age oxidation. A previous owner installed some very nice late 19th Ottoman cloth paper backed wallpaper as the top lid's liner. CHESTER COUNTY PA 18TH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE WALNUT BLANKET CHEST W/HIDDEN DRAWERS
IMPORTANT CHESTER COUNTY 18TH CENTURY WALNUT QUEEN ANNE PERIOD BLANKET CHEST ON ATTACHED FRAME Bay Colony Antiques is exceptionally honored to offer you this important mid 18th Century Queen Anne period walnut blanket chest attributed to Chester County Pennsylvania. There have been several of these unique specimens brought to market over the last year. As here. In our own acquisition, all have been hotly contested over each realizing prices far in excess of what we are able to offer this superior one for. We are not an Auction House with their substantial operations costs. We are a small exclusive family owned practice with over 35 years of experience dedicated in finding the very finest pieces of their respective categories throughout New England and the Northeastern US. This is a very precisely overbuilt Queen Anne period blanket chest ... moreon attached frame in its first finish and first surface. It is entirely dovetail and pegged joined. It has a fantastic old world iron original lock with working key. Two lower molded drawers with original brasses, molded top with pegged joinery and strap iron hinges. It is further defined by Tulip Poplar secondaries and a most fascinating Candle Till with a cleverly crafted false facing that lifts to reveal three hidden drawers. This last feature is so ingenious in its design to conceal its owner's valuables that it escaped the attention of dozens of experts who have studied this chest prior to our acquisition. This remarkable 18th Century Blanket Chest augments our collection and offerings of some of the very best 18th Century Pennsylvania in the United States. We note a few new screw replacements on the strap hinges. When you feel how remarkably heavy this box is you will understand why some screws have fallen out over the last 250 years. We make no apology or excuses for this but need to call it to your attention as with any issues that come to our attention. This Blanket Chest is 52" long, 23" wide and 30 1/2" tall standing on bracket feet. This is a very s

Antique Rare Scratch & Chip Carved Blanket Chest From Maine Camp Can Be Shipped
This is a rare antique scratch and chip carved blanket chest from a camp located near Rockville. Maine. It is an amazing example of Maine Folk Art. The chest dates from the late 1700’s to the early 1800’s and shows traces it indicate that it was originally painted a salmon color with black highlights. The carving is wonderful and illustrates the deep Indian Heritage of this area of Maine. There is a sun carved in the center of the top of the lid and a hatchet carved in each corner. The edges around the top are carved in a ribbed pattern. The front of the chest is a carving of an Indian in a canoe paddling across a pond. The front outer edges. Along with the edges around the drawer are chip carved, very nicely done. The chip carved potions have traces of original black paint. The hinges are the original iron snipe hinges. The drawer pull is ... morebrass and may not be original. The drawer is nailed construction. There are several repairs to the chest and a replaced drawer slide. The lid is loose around the snipe hinges. This piece could use some restoration but the beauty is in the original carved decoration. There is no evidence that the chest ever had a till or other dividers inside. It appears that the wood could be Birch or Pine. The chest is 43” long x 17 ½” wide and 30” high. Rockville is located in Knox county. Just northwest of Rockport on a feeder creek for Chickawaukie Pond. The main Indian tribe that inhabited the area was the Wabanaki, or Abnaki tribe which had villages and subdivisions in Knox County. We can safely ship this antique. Please ask for a quotation. Tiger Maple Miniature Blanket Chest Box - With Till and Highly Figured Front!
This auction is for a Solid Tiger Maple Chippendale-Style Miniature Blanket Box with Till(also solid tiger) Just like a full sized box including the till which is one important feature that actually makes it a blanket box. The entire box is all Hand-Dovetailed. It has a Chamfered Base. This particular box has inlaid antique hinges and escutcheon. But no actual lock. This box also has an antique-smooth finish. It measures 13 3/4" long, 6 7/8" deep and 8 3/4" tall. I am a 4th generation Master Cabinetmaker. Having trained under my uncle for several years. My specialty is in creating reproductions of antique tiger maple furniture. I have always had a strong appreciation for the old styles and solid workmanship, so each of my pieces is as authentic as is possible. In fact, my work has been mistaken as original by reputable dealers, ... moreand unfortunately has even been re-sold as an original piece. I really love all the work that goes into these pieces; it takes a lot of time and effort, but it's a dying art form and I feel fortunate that I can help preserve it. My joy is in sharing a bit of history with those who appreciate it but can't afford the real thing- like me. NOTE: Again. This box is NOT an antique- I built this with my own two hands. Please feel free to ask any questions! Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!
