There are no candle slides on this model. Construction is rock solid steady with stamped markings underneath, but no maker name, could be any one of several small factories making colonial reproductions of good quality well before the internet and big box store days. Glue blocks on corners undererneath are nice and sound. This is all solid wood, not a cheap chip board foreign mahogany lookalike with sprayed laquer finish that looks garish in person! Condition Report: Slight rub mark to leg as shown. Small burn mark on top. General wear and tear of a used piece. But not abuse; I will clean it up before pickup as I do with all my dealer furniture to presentation quality ready for your home. American Queen Anne Oak Chest of Drawers Circa 1720 Description: An early 18th century American Queen Anne oak chest of drawers. Circa 1720. The chest features an old(possibly original) finish with gorgeous patina, quarter round molding, and panelled sides. It has Queen Anne period brasses though it may have originally had William and Mary style drop pulls. The bracket feet are original. The carcass is cedar and pine. Drawers are white oak. We think this is probably from the mid-Atlantic states, possibly Virginia. It is 37 1/2" wide by 21" deep by 36 1/2" high. Condition: Very good overall. The biggest issue is replaced pulls and backplates on the bottom drawer. All locks are intact though the chest does not have a key. There is a small chunk of wood missing on the rail over the second drawer down. Probably from someone breaking ... moreinto a locked drawer. There are a couple of repairs to the drawer bottoms due to wood shrinkage. The back boards are all original. One of the top boards. Toward the back, has probably been replaced. Next came into the William Bradford Cumberland County Pa collection and we bought it at considerable expensive estate fresh and turned up an absolute American ... more18th Century Tombstone door carved on Ogee bracket footed masterpiece. Please. Its an important piece be a real collector if you want our attention here. Otherwise we are keeping close records. We have brought some of the very best American pieces in the world to this sales platform over the last year as we are experiment right here cutting out our considerable expenses in selling it by others. We can sell our own just fine. We have met some fabulous people serious collectors this year here and we thank you all. This walnut jewel has a 12 drawer interior with maybe two or three replaced secondary panels. These have all realized in lessers then in our opinion for 50 and 70K plus the 20% bump recently and we don't want to wait a year to get paid and scalped by an auction house. Ebay just jacket up fees dramatically too so they know this is working. We are obligated to say this about the drawer panels which were the best restorations by the qualified people as insignificant as it is. The chest is 19" long, 11" wide and 25" tall. It is also very desirable because of the simplicity of the design. The cabriole legs terminate into well formed but dainty pad feet. This heralds from New England. C.1760. It has all the original brasses except for three, which are of the period. The only other replacement is a small lip patch on a drawer. These are highly coveted pieces of which approximately only 50 are known to exists. This one comes to us from the noted collection in the Hudson Valley. It has the uniquely identifiable twin molded panels in the front of its case. The boxes top has very nicely molded profiles along with its lower drawer faces. The original strap hinges, intermediary moldings, bracket feet and nicely done cut out sides. The box was obviously refinished earlier in the 20th Century and is very good condition. We note it had an interior till at some point in its life which is no longer present.
