For your consideration is an Awesome Vintage Industrial Steel& Wood Storage Trunk by Vanderman! Would make an epic coffee table. It's all steel sheet clad, with solid wood strips and iron handles. It has all been painted grey at some point and looks really great in my opinion, but if you didn't like that, it could absolutely be stripped! This trunk is very heavy, and can take anything you can throw at it and be no worse for the wear! Pickup can be done in Putnam. Antique Vanderman Trunk - Pat. July 1897
Antique Vanderman trunk from the late 1800's to early 1900's. The patent date on the name plate is July 1897. The trunk/Strong box is solid and in fairly good condition for its age. It appears that it was once painted a solid color and the paint has been partially stripped or worn off. The bottom of the trunk is rusted but seems to be solid. 1897 Vanderman Strong Box No Damage Larger Trunk In Connecticut
1897 vanderman strong box or year close to this up or down. No tag. Antique trunk storage chest or locker all cast iron with hardwood all around it and lock k&n front and 2 side locks too, very heavy and it is 38 inches wide, 19.5 deep and 20.5 inches tall. Hinges work fine. Has 6 drop handles like a coffin. Looks like a trunk that goes on a ship like titanic, very cool looking! Has rust inside because was full of old mason jars. No holes. Just needs to be cleaned, painted. Then it will a beautiful piece. No shipping unless you set it up. Delivery for a fee. Pick up in riverside connecticut. Mark 203-667-8949.

Beautiful Antique Vanderman Strong Box This is an 1897 Vanderman Strong Box which has been professionally restored and is in absolutely beautiful condition. It was made by the Vanderman Mfg. Co. of Willimantic. Conn. and patented July 13, 1897. Vanderman manufactured these boxes in several different sizes, many of which were used as tool chests and by the construction trade. It is made of 1/16" steel which was formed into a rectangular shape and on the top, sides, and bottom are solid oak wood staves/slats riveted to the steel. The corners have custom fit steel reinforcing at every outside edge point. There is a Vanderman brass plaque at the lower center of the front panel. Antique Vanderman stagecoach/railroad trunk from the late 1800's to early 1900's. The patent date on the name plate is 1897. The trunk/Strong box is in original condition and has not been restored. One top board is damaged as shown in photograph. The rest of the trunk including the bottom is solid inside and out. This trunk is solid and in very good condition for its age. This is a rare trunk.
