Antique 18th Century George III Chippendale Linen Cabinet Cupboard c. 1790-1820

Description: This listing is for a Flame Mahogany George III English Chippendale Linen Cabinet in Two Parts. Probably c. 1790-1820. It is a stunning work of art using the choicest of Flamed Mahogany selections to highlight the case. The cabinet is constructed using broad dovetails to lock the case together, bringing the solid mahogany sides together with the pine secondary woods permanently. Along the top, exposed through-dovetails line the edges flanking a rough hand planed surface, nearly black with oxidization. A carved mahogany crown wraps around the top over two large doors, each framed with thin molding scalloped at each corner to highlight simply incredible flamed mahogany veneers. The veneers rest over mahogany secondary ... morewoods, which from the inside can be seen as a single solid board making up each door, solid mahogany framing locking all parts together. The doors swing over original brass hinges with original hand forged screws. The left door originally locked shut with brass catches on the top and bottom of the door frame, but these have since become non-functional- later metal catches were installed on the door at one point, both of which function to secure the door. The right door features the original brass lock, again with all of it's original screws, still functional but with some difficulty operating fully. When you insert the key, which also appears to be original, it will lock the door, but does not extend the full way or retract entirely either- however, it does sufficiently secure the door. The lower chest is a work of art. Using a scalloped molding to complete the frame around the upper portion, the interior with an oak strip that allows the top to slide backwards and allow for a comfortable handhold. Antique Painted European Corner Cabinet, 18th Century Europe, Bible Scene
Antique wooden corner cabinet dating to the late 1700's. The cabinet has two curved doors that have a scene painted on them. Probably biblical. There is a king with a crown, some Roman guards and other various people. I wish I could identify the scene but I am not a biblical scholar. The cabinet measures 36 inches high and each side is 13-3/4 inches deep. It measures 22 inches across the front. Condition is good for being over 200 years old. The cabinet is solid though there are some splits to the sides and one small part cut out, all over wear and flaking paint. It does not appear to ever have had the paint touched up. The hinges have some breaks and are held to the cabinet with all kinds of screws and nails through out the years. This piece is far from pristine, but absolutely fabulous. 18th century raised panel pine cabinet from the eastern shore MD. Very rare with long horizontal panels at the top and bottom. There are 3 shelves inside, 1 has a candle burns from where people used to light with a candle. There is no restoration to the cabinet except a piece of wood on left end foot and small ear tip on front foot. The ends each have 4 ventilation holes. The hinges are not original.Very nice small size, 36" wide top molding, 67 1/2 tall, 17 1/2 deep. Good luck what a piece of american history! Beautiful antique 18th century diminutive corner cupboard. It is made of maple and has a painted interior. There is one replaced board in the back. It is constructed with pegs and rose head nails. Probably made in Rhode Island or Connecticut. Measures 78 1/4" tall. 28" wide and is 18" deep. The cupboard is two pieces for easier transporting. This piece is listed for local pick up. I am thinking this came off a Hutch or Cabinet but I am not positive. It was purchased at a very old estate in San Francisco California. The Woman I purchased it from said her husband had brought this back from Germany many years ago. It has a lock mechanism on one side and there is a hinge pin on the top of it. I believe the wood is some kind of Oak. It measures 29 inches tall and is 18 1/4 inches wide. The hunter on the horse I think use to be holding a spear but it is missing. An 18th century English linen press in figured walnut. It measures approximately 85" tall. The widest point is at the top molding- about 52" wide. The deepest part is also at the top molding- about 20-1/8" deep. At the mid-point down. It is about 50" wide and 18.75" deep. We do not know the maker. There is overall normal surface wear commensurate with age and use, including some dings and scratches as they are found commonly on antique furniture. Antique 18th Century Carved Walnut Cabinet or Hutch Panel German Black Forest This antique Carved scene of a Hunter after a wild boar riding through the black forest is in very good condition. I am thinking this came off a Hutch or Cabinet but I am not positive. It was purchased at a very old estate in San Francisco California. The Woman I purchased it from said her husband had brought this back from Germany many years ago. It has a lock mechanism on one side and there is a hinge pin on the top of it. I believe the wood is Walnut. It measures 29 inches tall and is 18 1/4 inches wide. The hunter on the horse I think use to be holding a spear but it is missing. This would make a great piece for re-purposing or building an old cabinet for a hunting lodge. Please feel free to ask questions and thank you for looking.
