18th Century American Pennsylvania Chippendale Period Cupboard Cabinet c 1760-85
Please note. We have a very large collection of additional images of this piece available for your enjoyment below. Description: This listing is for a Fine Pennsylvania Chippendale Two Part Cupboard. Walnut, circa 1760-85. A finely crafted work, it features a beautiful hand carved molding around the crown, flanking a dovetailed top with nearly black levels of oxidization. Chamfered columns flank blind-cupboard doors with tombstone panels, the frame with glued through-tenon joints, locking with an original hand made iron lock and swinging open over original hinges with mostly original screws. The inside of the panels boast the rough unfinished chisel work of the artisan, shaping the panel to smoothly rabbet into the frame. All original shelves line the cupboard, the top shelf being half the depth of the other two, all shelves being permanent ... moreand sliding into the case from the back along hidden grooves. The cupboard case has wooden pins locking the tenoned joints together, the sides constructed of two pieces of solid walnut, joined at the back with pine secondary boards with traces of an early red stain, lined around the edges with original iron rose head nails. The lower case features three drawers, each with replaced hardware, though the integrity of the holes were preserved by using an old hole for the knob hardware and filling the other with a matched walnut wooden pin. An applied lip runs along the top of each drawer. The drawers feature hand dovetail construction with yellow pine secondary woods with a hand chamfered bottom. The case rests over four bracket feet, each appearing to be original(though a possible question around the right front and rear foot, as we believe them to be original but are sharper and thinner than the other two) with thin square original blocking strengthening each from behind. This is an outstanding investment grade work of art. A rare find with this level of originality and condition, and is a visually striking piece. With fine clean lines, a simplicity of design throughout and a

Antique Painted European Corner Cabinet, 18th Century Europe, Bible Scene
Antique wooden corner cabinet dating to the late 1700's. The cabinet has two curved doors that have a scene painted on them. Probably biblical. There is a king with a crown, some Roman guards and other various people. I wish I could identify the scene but I am not a biblical scholar. The cabinet measures 36 inches high and each side is 13-3/4 inches deep. It measures 22 inches across the front. Condition is good for being over 200 years old. The cabinet is solid though there are some splits to the sides and one small part cut out, all over wear and flaking paint. It does not appear to ever have had the paint touched up. The hinges have some breaks and are held to the cabinet with all kinds of screws and nails through out the years. This piece is far from pristine, but absolutely fabulous. It is European, but I cannot claim exactly where ... moreot was from originally, it was purchased in England and shipped back to Texas. Please check out all the photos and thanks for looking.
Fabulous 18th Century Spanish Colonial Cabinet Vargueno Angels Portuguese
Offered for your consideration! A phenomenal find! An absolutely exquisite 18th century Spanish Colonial collectors cabinet! These are very difficult to source and this is a stunning example of fine 18th century craftsmanship. We sourced this from an estate in Central Mexico where it has been in the same family for at least 80 years and probably much much longer. It is truly an heirloom quality acquisition. The top part of the cabinet consist of multiple drawers. Each drawer is adorned with hand forged silver ornamentation with cherub motifs. The center panel with the barley twist columns opens to reveal six drawers with their original hand carved ivory knobs intact. The bottom part of the cabinet are shelves carved with a silver gilded rose motif. The top cabinet part is separate and was likely made is either Spain or Portugal circa 1750 ... moreto 1790. The bottom part was likely made in Mexico circa 1880 and fitted for the top. This was not uncommon as sometimes families shipped over just the cabinet part and would have them fitted with a table or stand upon arrival. Each small drawer is fitted with a lock. The locks are old but I suspect they date to circa 1880 as well. We do have two keys that came with the cabinet. However only one really works well and it will only unlock or lock the drawers on the left side. The overall condition is very good. It does show signs of the wear of two centuries. There is some old wormwood and some small pieces of trim missing. The ormolu is silver in color but shows signs that it may have once been gilded. The wood on the drawers is finer than the body of the cabinet. Dark ebony contrasting with nice burled wood. We photographed as it just shipped in to our warehouse. We seem to be limited in the number of photos to post here. We would be happy to email as many photos as you would like directly. The cabinet measures 54 inches wide 66 1/2 inches tall and 15 1/2 deep. Shipping within the 48 State will be via blanket wrap freight. $375 for most areas. Inner city deliveries may be sligh

17th,18th century Jacobean carved blind door crystal cabinet
The Jacobean period of furniture style began 1603 in England with the reign of James I and ended 1688 with the reign of James II. During this time. America began to receive a migration of new people, first in Jamestown in 1607, then Plymouth in 1620. Jacobean is often described as the earliest form of furniture making in America. Categorized in a more narrow sense, it has been referred to as Pilgrim furniture. Due to the skills of the early colonists, the furniture was much more primitive than their English counterparts. Maybe a better term to use is Early American furniture. Colonial Sense wants to first start with Jacobean furniture in England since it inspired much of the colonial furniture in America. Then we will discuss the Early American furniture specifically made in this country and the skilled craftsmen whose work is highly sought ... moreafter today in the antique industry. With the help of John Fiske and Lisa Freeman, we used dates in our article pertaining to when certain styles changed in the Jacobean period. These dates are the center of roughly a five year period and should only be used in determining if a piece is early or later in the period. This was purchased years ago by a well known producer in Malibu California. He paid good money for it. I have taken a lot of pictures to see how detailed and beautiful it is. If you would like to see it before you purchase. That would be great. Also, pick up is not a problem. Just email me to set up a time and we could go from there. Please email me with any questions. YOU WILL RECEIVE WHAT IS IN THE PICTURE. A $1000 non refundable must be paid within 24hrs. Remainder of the balance within 5 days, ONCE cleared we will ship out.

American Chippendale Raised Panel Corner Cabinet, Eastern Shore c. 18th Century
American Chippendale Raised Panel Painted Corner Cabinet. Possibly Eastern Shore Virginia Composed of 18th Century Elements Item# 130208FPP25 This piece is a simply gorgeous work for any decorators or collectors that are looking for a pure authentic look without the authentic price tag. Original American Chippendale Raised Panel Corner Cupboards from the Eastern Shore of Virginia with this very fine form and color will cost well north of the mid five-figures. If one can be attained on the open market; this is not a piece that should be considered by purist collectors, but is a visually stunning, deeply patinated and worn work with great form and age. It is composed of 18th Century elements. Appearing to be mostly original, but certainly with some added additions/replacements. After spending quite a bit of time looking at the piece, much of ... morethe molding is replaced or added, the feet having been added and any other alterations or changes long since hidden under the later painted surface. The form is wonderful to look upon- a pair of doors with six glass panes under worn molded astragals framed in double-pinned through tenon-mortise joinery. Swinging on H-hinges open to reveal a pair of shapely maple shelves covered in a pink painted interior. The lower portion is a pair of tombstone raised panel doors, the recess highlighted with an ivory paint, these opening to reveal a second pair of shelves. The whole rests over scroll cut bracket feet with laminated blocking. The backboards are incredibly thick original planks with even rows of rusty wrought iron nails throughout. This is a piece that is sure to bring great visual elevation to whatever home it becomes a part of. Measurements: 81" high x 40" wide across the front; 21" deep to the flat of the back; 12" width across the flat-most part of the back Condition Report: Composed predominantly of 18th Century parts; due to the altered nature of the piece. It is difficult to be certain what is original and adjusted. The feet are certainly replaced, som

rustic 18th Century Irish Pine Hutch: own a piece of Irish history
HOTLINE: 425- 877-1074. Large. Very antique pine kitchen hutch from Ireland c. 1750-1790. This 18th century Irish pine hutch is a primitive cupboard with upper plate rack shelves and lower storage buffet. The wood throughout is marked with insect holes. Oxidation stains from nails, and serious wear, creating a rustic, unreproducible patina from 200+ years of use. The upper unit measures 75.5″ wide x ~8″ deep x 53″ tall. Its bottom shelf sits on 4 shallow drawers that slide out directly onto the work surface. One has lost its small brass handle. The 4 long shelves are grooved with a large v-notch to keep plates stored upright from falling off. They are backed by vertical tongue-and-groove boards which have several gaps from age. This upper unit is kept in place not by hardware. But by the backboards extending several inches behind the base ... moreunit to form a long lip that is held tight against the wall. The lower cabinet measures 78″ wide x 21″ deep x 32″ tall. Its counter-top surface is spectacularly worn. The base consists of a central cupboard behind a panel door flanked by 3 large drawers on the right and on the left. The drawers are constructed with pin dovetails. Some of them are missing bottom boards. Please note that the original drawer and door handles have been kept with the hutch and they can be re-installed. But the previous owner installed new handles since the wear on the originals made them difficult to use. The key to the central cupboard is not available. Our 2nd photo above shows this hutch decked out with our Christmas display at The Living Room Consignment& Tea. Of course. All the pretty things shown on and around it are for sale separately! Where will you use this amazing piece of history? Will it be your Irish Christmas hutch? It was probably originally used in a kitchen. And could certainly serve there. But with modern eclectic uses, this might just as easily find a home as a TV console in a living room, display china in a dining room, or hold books and supplies in an office or library. FREI

RARE 18th CENTURY FRENCH VITRINE SEDAN CHAIR NO RESERVE !!!!!!!!
This Beauty is a UNIQUE 18th CENTURY VITRINE SEDAN CHAIR. A clever conversion of an 18th century French sedan chair to a useful display cabinet. The chair of a vertical form features a wooden frame highlighted by gilt scrolls and running floral designs. The single hinged door is glazed above a panel painted with a gentleman assisting a lady with her dress, while her maid looks on. They seem to be standing in front of a vast estate. The sides of the Sedan Chair have 2 different lovely painted landscape scenes of beautiful rolling hills and with various birds. The interior of the cabinet lacks the original seat and has been fitted with Glass shelves(not shown) The whole raised on curved runner feet. The interior has very old faded red velvet with some tearing so it has condition issues. There is some expected loss, being over 200 years old, ... moreto the hand painted decoration. Having said that it is still beautiful and would not take much to restore. This piece had been in my friends family for over a hundred years. She told me that her grandparents had purchased a large estate either in Indiana or Ohio in the late 1800's. This was found buried in the back corner of the attic of the home. At that time it was still a complete Sedan Chair. Her grandmother fell in love with it and at some point in the early 1900's her grandfather had it repurposed as a beautiful Vitrine that held all of her precious possessions. When her grandmother passed it was passed down to her parents and when they passed she ended up with it. She is in her 70's. I have no reason not to believe her story. This is Very IMPORTANT. Buyer will need to arrange to either pick up or pay for the moving to them. It is selling as is where is. I will work with the buyer on any arrangements they make and will be happy to keep for 2 weeks for those arrangements. Payment needs to be made within 3 Business days after end of sale. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have before bidding. I also can email additional pictures if you need them. Plea

IMPORTANT EARLY 18TH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE PERIOD CIRCA 1830 PENNSYLVANIA WALNUT SPICE CHEST WITH TOMBSTONE DOOR WITH IMPORTANT PROVENANCE With our utmost honor Bay Colony Antiques takes the highest honor in offering you this most important 18th Century Queen Anne period circa 1730's Twelve drawer Pennsylvania walnut spice chest with a tombstone door and the best formed Ogee bracket feet. With no embellishments or exaggeration this is unarguably one of the very best spice chests to have surfaced on the American market for the last several years. This comes straight from the personal collection of one of America's very finest collectors who without distant second in our experience is the very best authority on pure Pennsylvania antiques and decorative arts in the United States. We are honored to be affiliated with this person. This is ... morea serious investment grade piece and if that is perhaps germane we politely suggest you should be looking at a different another subject matter. We sincerely mean this absent any sarcasm or sardonic underpinnings. We have seen. And easily verifiable, much lesser specimens recently blast past the 50K bottom to recently over the 70K top on 18th Century Pennsylvania Spice Chests. Remember, those sales figures have up to additional 20% buyer's premiums attached to them. These are recession proof investments. Little else these days can make that claim. This sales platform differs from our auction sales one where it is"as is where is" We reserve this venue for select pieces understanding that our goods must be absolutely vetted& completely correct as we represent them. We acquired this spice chest in trade from our own personal collections. We have a serious estate coming in over the next week, presently heavily invested in several other large estate purchases and we are certain the heirs of the next estate desires cash and not a spice chest. Do not read that as"short sale" Our serious& real price already reflects that. Our second stratagem in using thi
Rustic 18th Century Walnut Welsh Cupboard
You are bidding on a fabulous pre-1800 Welsh cupboard in what appears to be dark English Walnut. It is in good condition. Considering its age. Not the hinges on the bottom doors and the hooks for cups along the shelves. This comes from an old Virginia estate and is perfect for a rustic decor. The back is bare wood much like the inner doors shown in the photos. Note that there are some scratches overemphasized by the camera flash. The upper corners also have some separation and perhaps small pieces missing. But this does not detract from the fabulous character of such an ancient piece of furniture. Overall measurements are 87 inches in width, 73 inches height, and 16.5 inches depth. Item must be picked up in Petersburg Virginia, 20 miles south of Richmond, at Hiram Haines' Coffee House, site of Edgar Allan Poe's 1836 honeymoon. It ... morehas been used there for several years. 18th CENTURY CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY LINEN PRESS-EXCELLENT CONDITION & INTERIOR!
EXCELLENT 18TH CENTURY CHIPPENDALE FIGURED MAHOGANY LINEN PRESS With our very highest compliments Bay Colony Antiques is delighted to offer you this fabulous two piece 18th century solid highly figured mahogany Chippendale Linen Press. This is a most superior piece employing very fine finest joinery and cabinet making techniques. The mahogany selected for its case is just wonderful with a deep rich figuring. We believe its origins are American Southern Colonies most likely Virginia. We have vacillated between it being American or English. Four second opinions of our colleagues have come back equally mixed. You have to be the ultimatum judge here. From our perspective we like to get it right but in this case beyond that point we are indifferent. Its a fantastic 18th Century Chippendale mahogany Linen Press and these have been very difficult ... moreto locate. The few we have encountered had unacceptable condition issues and unrealistic price expectations. To find one we can offer for the right side of $10.000 is feat in itself. This Linen Press has a fine interior of six upper case pull out drawers made entirely with dovetailed construction and white pine secondary woods. It is adorned with period brasses and a smart crown molding. Its base case is constructed in a two over two drawer format standing on well formed Ogee legs. This piece is ultra choice and in the best condition. It is 51 1/4" long, 25 1/2" wide(depth) and stands 72" tall. NIMES, FRANCE 18TH CENTURY Old Wardrobe Armoire Dresser Cupboard Storage Cabinet
Country French Cabinet from Nimes. France 5NIMes This 18th Century French Bonnetier Armoire Storage cabinet is primarily constructed of French Walnut. French Bonnetieres were originally meant to hold women’s bonnets or hats. When bonnets were a constant in women’s fashion. Today, bonnetieres are used to store almost anything that needs to be hidden away in a beautiful cabinet. The wood type is French walnut with some beech as well. It is in good condition. With wear consistent of age and use. Old age separations and restorations, veneer chip in front bottom foot panel, mirror damaged, old restorations, nicks and rubs to wood all commensurate with an 18th C. piece of furniture. This beautiful storage cabinet was originally meant to hold bonnets. Hats, and other fashions of the day. Over the past twenty years, it has served to store away many ... moredifferent items in two of my homes. Originally, I bought it from an antique dealer in Washington, D.C. to store formal linens, dishes and silver inside and display beautiful decorative arts on top. It anchored and balanced out a large living room that opened into a large formal dining room. In recent years, my husband has been using it as a wardrobe cabinet in our townhouse. Since we just inherited a large dresser that my husband prefers. And we don't have space for it elsewhere in this smaller home, it is time for the next owner. This elegant bonnetiere could be retrofitted for refrigeration or wine storage, or it could be used in any room needing a fabulous storage cabinet for bathroom linen, kitchen dry goods, wardrobe for sweaters, shirts, or hats, etc. You name it. In part. My love of antiques comes from imagining the stories they could tell from all the places they have lived throughout numerous generations. Even looking at a repair to the veneer makes me think about an owner generations ago expending the time and expense to restore the piece for the future. If only antiques could talk! I love the good spirits they bring into our homes, keeping us grounded in the fac

Italian early 18th Century Baroque cabinet credenza. Pine & walnut.
Here's a fine example of an early Italian pine credenza of about 300 years old. The pine now. While darker, still casts a yellowish hue that lightens up the whole piece, unlike others that are all walnut that came after this. Still sports it's original spring lock on an unmolested door(never removed or changed) No key. However. Large walnut diamond lozenge shapes on two front doors and sides. Still solid and without any weakness. Door and drawer knobs. I find that so amazing. Totally solid. Doors however are fine, but should be opened slow and with a slight lifting so that they don't rub on the lower shelf. Right door looks to have been cracked and repaired. Inside floor has an old sheet of plywood put on over the existing floor. Very minor losses to floor moulding. At one time a TV was installed in the cabinet and the back of ... morethe cabinet was cut about 8" round to accomodate the old TV's. Fortunately. They saved 90% of the cutout and this was re-fitted into the original space. Size is 51" wide. 49.5 high and 21" deep. Pick up locally or will assist with your shipper at your cost. CA residents taxed.

Rare Pair 18th Century Italian Walnut Corner Cabinets. Estate Fresh
Up for auction and consideration. Is this wonderful pair of 18th century Italian walnut corner cabinets.they are in as found original condition, right from a local woodstock estate.i believe them to from around 1750-1780. They are absolutely charming, they have worm holes along Moldings and through out as you would see as you would see in period European furniture.they are definetly both handmade because the measurements slightly differ on both.they both have a Queen Anne foot, so they might be earlier.these are untouched and not restored.refer to photos, and don't hesitate if you have any questions. They are selling with no reserve. If you collect early European furniture, well you have found it.a great addition to any collection.i feel restored they could be worth 8-12000 dollars. These are a find.Measures approximately 40" tall, ... more20" deep, 27"wide.selling with no reserve good luck
