Circa 1750 Charming George II Oak Lowboy made in England. A George II mahogany banded oak lowboy of lovely quality. The beautiful cross banded and molded top over three drawers that are similarly banded. Retaining the fantastic original hardware. Over nicely scalloped apron, standing on cabriole legs in the front as well as the back, quite unusual for the period, with exceptional pleasing color and patina. Antique 18th Century George III Chippendale Linen Cabinet Cupboard c. 1790-1820

Description: This listing is for a Flame Mahogany George III English Chippendale Linen Cabinet in Two Parts. Probably c. 1790-1820. It is a stunning work of art using the choicest of Flamed Mahogany selections to highlight the case. The cabinet is constructed using broad dovetails to lock the case together, bringing the solid mahogany sides together with the pine secondary woods permanently. Along the top, exposed through-dovetails line the edges flanking a rough hand planed surface, nearly black with oxidization. A carved mahogany crown wraps around the top over two large doors, each framed with thin molding scalloped at each corner to highlight simply incredible flamed mahogany veneers. The veneers rest over mahogany secondary ... morewoods, which from the inside can be seen as a single solid board making up each door, solid mahogany framing locking all parts together. The doors swing over original brass hinges with original hand forged screws. The left door originally locked shut with brass catches on the top and bottom of the door frame, but these have since become non-functional- later metal catches were installed on the door at one point, both of which function to secure the door. The right door features the original brass lock, again with all of it's original screws, still functional but with some difficulty operating fully. When you insert the key, which also appears to be original, it will lock the door, but does not extend the full way or retract entirely either- however, it does sufficiently secure the door. The lower chest is a work of art. Using a scalloped molding to complete the frame around the upper portion, the interior with an oak strip that allows the top to slide backwards and allow for a comfortable handhold. This oak strip is photographed below and features all original screws. The chest boasts two small drawers side-by-side over two large graduated drawers. Each features matching

|. |. Antique George III Mahogany& Marquetry Linen Press, This is a beautiful antique George III mahogany and fruitwood marquetry linen press. Circa 1800 in date. The linen press has been masterfully inlaid with a marquetry of flowers. Flaming urns, scrolling foliage, lambrequins, scallop shells and acanthus leaves. The pair of panelled doors encloses four linen slides. Above two short and two long drawers, and it stands on elegant ogee splayed feet. The locks and handles appear to be original. It is a very decorative piece which is sure to attract a lot of attention. Condition: It is original and untouched condition and any restoration that is required will be done before delivery. House building, furniture making etc and is the core structure of just about every 19th century vanity box, dressing case or jewellery box. It became more of a Victorian trend to dress Mahogany with these decorative veneers, such as Rosewood, Kingwood, Burr Walnut and Coromandel, so that the actual Mahogany was almost hidden from view. Mahogany itself is a rich reddish brown wood that can range from being plain in appearance to something that is so vibrant. Figured and almost three dimensional in effect. Although Mahogany was most often used in its solid form. It also provided some beautifully figured varieties of veneer like‘Flame’ Mahogany and‘Fiddleback’ Mahogany(named after its preferred use in the manufacture of fine musical instruments) Cuban Mahogany was so sought after. The cupboard boasts a protruding canopy above the upper section with quarter columns to the corner. The upper section consists of two Arcadian fielded paneled doors with a working lock and key. Inside the cupboard there is a brass hanging rail with adjustable brass hooks on the rail along with brass pegs to the back wall of the inside of the cupboard. Below. The graduated drawers are pine lined and this is a typical feature of Welsh housekeeper cupboards. The whole frame is built using a peg construction method. All drawers in the base feature lovely brass swan neck handles with brass plate escutcheons and the two top drawers feature ivory keyhole escutcheons. The cupboard features the original pine backboards. The cupboard boasts inset oak sides. The base and top are an original match and not a marriage. The cupboard stands on shaped bracket feet. MEASURES 50 1/2" ACROSS THE FRONT X 25 1/4" DEEP X 83 1/4" TALL. THE TOP MOULDING HAS SOME SMALL CHIPS. THE INSIDE OF THE BOTTOM SECTION HAS A 4" SQUARE HOLE CUT INTO THE BACK. ANTIQUE EARLY KING GEORGE II SHIP'S BOAT SINK CUPBOARD/ CABINET/ VANITY* Up for sale is this amazing antique. This very rare item is what appears to be a ship's sink. It has a porcelain sink and an old pipe down through the cabinet. This probably went into another basin that was emptied once it was full. What is so unique about this item is that it has the seal of the crown with the letters"G.R. below it. From our research on the internet. This is from King George II(Rex) or King Georgius II Rex as he was referred to and thus his initials were"G.R. He reigned from 1727- 1760 and it would make sense that this was from during his reign. It looks like a built in cabinet of some type and due to its size. It seems to be part of the quarters on a ship. It's mahogany and for being as old as it is, it's in great shape! It's ... moregot and old knob and handle for the door below. The stem of the handle is too long so the handle flops about some. We're not sure if this is the original handle or not. The cabinet is all nicely dovetail mortised. Including the bottom(not shown) The lid lifts up to reveal the porcelain sink inside. The sink has a little ding on one side but nothing out of the ordinary for the age. It even has the little brass chain and stopper for the sink basin. The back has flathead old screws in it and a couple of newer replacement screws. The backsplash also has a crack in it which is below the sink and visible only from the back. It has worn spots. Edge wear, scratches and nicks as you'd expect from and item of this age but in comparison to its age it is in GREAT condition. It measures 36" H x 20" W x 21" D and it weighs about 55 lbs. which is a testament to its quality. Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks! Check out our! DESCRIPTION: This is a wonderful Georgian oak and mahogany cross banded bow fronted corner cupboard. It has been made out of solid oak with mahogany cross banding which is a wonderful rich colour and a fantastic patina. Which can only be gained through age. The cupboard would look fantastic in any room you choose to hang it in. The corner cupboard has two bow fronted doors which is complete with it's original lock(which has been photographed separately) and key which is fully working. There is a lovely brass escutcheon to each ... moreof the doors. The doors have lovely mahogany cross banded with lovely shaped detailing to the corners of the doors which sets them off beautifully. The doors open to reveal three shelves. The left door is held in place by a superb original hook. The top is finished off superbly with a nicely shaped cornice and there is a lovely shaped molding to the base. The front to this cupboard is wonderful. From the photographs you can see just how stunning the patina is. DIMENSIONS: The approximate dimensions are: 25.25 inches(measured from corner to corner) 17.25 inches along wall(this is the distance it would come out along the wall measured from the corner) 39.5 inches high. Also the approximate distance between the shelves going from top to bottom is: top 7 inches. 2nd 7.5 inches, 3rd 9 and bottom 12 inches. As can be seen from the above dimensions this corner cupboard is of lovely proportions. AGE: The corner cupboard is GEORGE III and dates to circa 1780/ 1800. CONDITION: As with any piece of antique there are minor knocks/ marks. Commensurate with age and careful use but overall the condition of this cupboard is wonderful as can be seen from the photographs. Please take time
