Late 18th century french oak Louis XV cabinet. 55" wide x 87"ht x19" outside depth. With it's beautiful deep scroll carvings and pretty details our lovely 18th century french provincial cabinet has taken centerstage in the kitchen for 40 years. It will be smashing in a living room or diningroom. This piece in its original state except for the two pieces of glass that I installed behind the grilled doors. The brass hinges and escutcheons are all original. My photos clearly show the beauty. Character and texture of the oak. The markings shown in the photo are inherent in the wood. They are not burns or stains. Maker- Horologique. Made in France- 1735 Louis XV. Made of walnut, burled elm,oak secondary, steel hardware, enameled brass. Dim: Lower section: 39 x 83 x 23; Upper section: 65 x 831/4 x 12 3/4. A large and ornate sideboard cabinet fitted with an upper section of dresser shelving and a central cornice clock. The panel and frame wood cabinetry finished in dark walnut and pale golden tan. The cabinet is of panel and frame construction, with many of the framing elements relief-carved with rococo and baroque revival motifs. The large interior cabinet is divided by one fixed shelf and is accessed by three shaped panel and frame doors. The figured burl panels of the doors are cut from thick solid timber instead of veneering. The central door panels further ornamented with appliquéd carved dark oak reliefs including central flowers and pea ... morevine tendrils at the corners. Small carved shell motifs embellish true narrow paneled stiles between doors. Keys included.
