The exterior of the chests are metal. They have been painted at one point in their travels. There are no large dents. There are some small dents in the protective edge trim metal and some small cratches and scuffs in the exterior paint. see pictures) The interiors are lined with a wallpaper type material. The interior lining is original and it is in quite respectable condition showing very little wear. The large trunk measures 34" in length. 19" in height and 18" wide. Vintage or Antique Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Travel Steamer Trunk Suitcase
This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

Size 28 inches wide. X 15 1/2 inches front to back, x 18 1/2 inches tall. Very small and nice trunk that wouldn't take up much space. Has a great patina. I took a lot of pictures to show the description. Handles don't match. Probably one or both is added, but they have the right look. The stay which holds the trunk open is there. But not original, but like the handles, looks right. The lock is missing. But you could find a replacement or leave as is. This will be great for decoration and some storage. Vintage Shipping Container Trunk Suit Case Carrying Case
For auction is a neat old shipping container or carrying case that is in excellent condition. It is black with brown borders and it is complete with its original plastic handle. At one time there was a leather strap that went from end to end but only the two ends of it remain. It shows scuffs from use and there is a spot on the top where someone had originally applied a piece of tape. I can't tell whether the tape residue remains or whether it took off the top section of the finish. It is not constructed of either wood or metal(other than the bracket. Latches, etc) but rather a very stiff cardboard-like material that is very strong. The three original latches still function and the middle one is made to receive a small padlock. It is 16 1/4" long, 6 3/4" deep and 8 1/2" tall.

There is an old leather handle to the centre of the front with working catches at left and right. Antique Humpback Trunk "Nice Oak & Tin Designs "
For your consideration is an antique humpback trunk with very nice oak trim boards along with a very unique tin top and sides. I believe it is all original including leather handles.Paper label inside and all outside trim. The locks on both sides of the trunk have a latch that locks the top down and both work. The colors of the oak slats are a little darker due to their originality and go great with the goldish-yellow tin sections. It measures approx 32 1/4 in wide by 17 deep and 19 in tall. A very nice original trunk! I can only offer pick up for this item but I would be willing to hold it for you as long as you need. Antique trunk embossed dome. Christmas special price reduced.
Antique trunk embossed dome with all original parts except handles and endcaps with original wood tray. This trunk has been recently refinished and is in mint condition. It has been stripped. Cleaned stained and has 2 coats of laquer. All parts for the lock is present it just has to be rekeyed. The embossing has been rubbed with gold rub and buff. The wood is slick and smooth, you will not find many trunks with as smooth finish as this trunk. Physically it is in good condition but obviously it has been used through the years. Measurements, left to right =L 32 3/8" front to back=D 17"from bottom(floor) to top of trunk=H 22" Tray measures L 30 1/2, D 15 7/8, H 5 1/8. This trunk weighs 32.4 pounds. The leather handles do measure 2" on each side but they can be pressed down so not to take as much room. Vintage 1940 Louis Vuitton Wardrobe Steamer Trunk
This old trunk is a beautiful example of the Louis Vuitton monogram pattern trunks made since 1896 in Paris. A real classic! This is a wardrobe style trunk that was designed to hold hanging clothes. When stood upright and opened in the center this would be like a personal closet and the clothes rod pulls out to allow easy access to the hanging clothes. This trunk has the original marked wood hangers. The exterior LV monogrammed covering is in excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear.Even the large leather handle is in good condition. This was a high-grade trunk with all brass hardware. Including many brass rivets all marked with the Louis Vuitton name. The demensions of the trunk are 36 x 22 x 12.

Vintage Grey Striped Trunk Luggage
This listing is for a beautiful striped traveling trunk from the 1930s or so. The pattern on it makes me think of camping. Old Pendleton blankets and hot cocoa. It is in great condition with minor scratches or discoloration. There is some rusting on the exterior hardware. Each side of the trunk, when opened, has an attached felt cover that attaches over the compartment. It has a metal contraption probably used to fold clothes with ease. The trunk measures roughly 29" long x 20" wide x 9" deep. Shipping is expensive for this items since it is so large, if you'd like to organize a local pick-up, please let me know.

Beautiful Antique French Suitcase. Quality brass fittings. The inside is all in very good condition. A little faint foxing on the linen. There is a lift out compartment. To separate the clothing. All the straps are present and in good condition. All the corners are leather reinforced. There are brass protectors on the bottom and the sides. The brass locks close beautifully but there is no key. The outside of the case is a little scratched and marked, as would be expected with a suitcase of this age. There is some staining on the back and side of the case, as can be seen in photo five. The initials on the top are P.J.F. The locks are signed JDEHA. I would date it to 1920/30's. The vintage handles are all in tact. center lock has been scratched, some one has used a tool to get open. Length 41 standing up. 22 inches long 14 inches closed botton to top. We are 40 miles east of Dallas Texas, I will ship, however it has to be local shipper that I can get it to easily, This trunk is gorgeous in color, I don't know if it is the original colors, It has been exposed to some moisture at some time as the fabric inside looks like it. Here we have a beautiful antique late 1800's Edwardian leather trunk from England in used antique vintage condition. very beautiful rare and unique. All leather with cream linen lining inside. Wonderful restoration project. In as found antique condition. These are very hard to find. The trunk measures 21 inches by 14 inches by 36 inches long. Both straps are in good condition. Has brass hardware. Both locks work but have no keys. I wonder what travels this old trunk has seen. It probably came across on an ocean liner back in the day. It has two old labels on it. One says Victoria British Transport, British Railways and the other says Southern Railway, London Via Dunkerque. Must have taken the railways and trains a lot too. The locks say British Lever on them. The underneath has two wooden supports for strength, Would make a beautiful ... morewindow display piece, or a prop for films, movie's, plays, or for a restaurant with an older theme. Vintage Hartmann Cushioned Top Wardrobe Trunk- flat top with original working lock and key(only 1 key) lock is self locking upon closing it) drawers are in great shape and they slide easily- drawers have all handles- the small inside case has working bolt like mechanism on both top sides to hold the small case in place and has latches to keep it shut when removed- the top lifts easily to get to the hangers- some of the hangers are splitting but most are in great shape(2 sizes thin and thick) has about 5 ship liner tags and I can only read the year on 1(1948) the tags are old. Worn torn, faded, and hard to read- the trunk is monogrammed with someones initials, city and state- the top leather strap is missing- the trunk is scarred, scratched, etc, but still in good shape- corners, etc. need cleaned surface rust is present. Exceptionally rare wood puzzle box. This is a beautiful handmade work of art that looks like it belongs in a Harry Potter or mystery movie! However. It's a seriously unique antique item from the late 1800's into the early 20th. C. The precision movement, joints and workmanship is amazing. The hinges are still strong, the lining is off is spots, the lining is missing in the bottom drawer. Overall, the drawers are in good condition. The outside leather is torn on bottom of the trunk standing up as shown. I see no loose bolts. The brass wear is tarnished.
